Customer service is definitely lacking. It seems that all these employees hate their job. The wait is just way too long then you have employees come out of the back to get ice cream for themselves while it's super busy with just two employees in the front. And to add to it all I've always asked for a coupon the side for my sampler and they try to charge me .35 cents for a cup. I've never been charged that and it's just so crazy. Thankfully Chipotle was amazing and gave me the cups I needed and spoons. With a smile to add. Definitely won't be coming back. read more

I've been here so many times I stopped counting; but tonight I did a DoorDash delivery of 2 quarts of ice cream. Did the chocolate peanut butter brownie and raspberry chunk with 2 sugar cones. After the delivery fees and tip and purchase of ice cream it was cheaper than the local Dewars for two ice creams. I absolutely love this place across the board. One of the better ice cream places in town. Tons of flavors to choose from, rich creamy flavor and you get a ton for your money. No other place in town serves up as much ice cream as Hansel's, without charging an arm and a leg. The kids or young adults in there are always friendly and helpful. They get right to serving up your order, since they can get a line out the door, in the blink of an eye. Price point, like I said, is one of the best in town. An easy place to take the whole family and not feel like you're breaking the bank. There is not really a place inside to sit and eat, but there is a park right down the way or a gazebo with plenty of seating around the corner. We stop by here probably once a month. My go to is Green Tea and Taro. A must stop spot in Bako, when you want to satisfy that sweet tooth. So stop on in and try one of their 32+ flavors. I ordered within 5 minutes of entering and got my ice cream about 3 minutes after that. Super quick service! I noticed the staff worked really efficiently. Once one person took your order, someone else would already start prepping it, which kept things moving smoothly. I got a small coffee chocolate chip, and while $7 felt pricy at first, I quickly realized their "small" is massive. Great value if you have a big sweet tooth, but I personally couldn't even finish half.. It felt a bit wasteful on my end. The ice cream itself was creamy, flavorful, and totally refreshing. A perfect little treat for a hot day. There's not much seating in this establishment so it's not really a place to hang out for long. Bang for your buck! I was not expecting to receive so much ice cream for a "small" sugar cone! I ordered pistachio nut ice cream and it was the perfect amount of sweet, packed with plenty of pistachios. I had so much left over I asked for a container to take it home. Handel's definitely has a good variety of flavors, but you probably have to go to the location to see the flavors because the one posted on their site is not up to date. There's literally something for everyone, so bring your friends and family because they also have a few flavors for your vegetarian and vegan friends and family. They even have something for your four legged bestest pal. I definitely want to bring my pups or grab something for them, you don't have too many places that have frozen treats for the doggies, so seeing this really made me feel excited. You can also order ahead on the website, but the problem with that is some of the flavors are not available, so if you want to order for pickup then your best bet is to probably call it in. However, I've been to other locations, including the one on Stockdale and another in the Redondo Beach area, and the portions there were much more generous. Went here today during my son's school spirit week and it was busy. Despite of it, service was fast and kudos to the staff for non stop scooping- it ain't easy, but the wait time was not that long and they were helpful for any questions you've got. The ice cream flavors we ordered were all good! We have tried about 8 flavors and all of us liked it. I ordered medium cone but I think next time im good with small cone. The only thing was the waiting area has only 1 bench at the side near the entrance. Overall, I recommend this place. Will be back next time! read more

The ice cream selection is huge and there really is something for everyone. My mom ordered the delicious strawberry cheesecake chunk; that she loved because she said that the chunks of cheesecake were in every bite. I ordered the pomegranate vegan sorbet which was very tasty and refreshing. This place is like a blast from the past i felt like I was in the movie Grease and I was loving it ! The space is a bit tight, the lines were not organized and they didn't really have a pick up spot so it was a bit chaotic. The workers however were super helpful, kind and efficient. And I say patient because our group all wanted samples and they were very accommodating with that. The only difficulty was choosing what to get. There were so many flavors. Like move over Baskin-Robbin's, 31 flavors are nothing! And the portions are HUGE! I ended up getting a frozen banana, which they said are hand dipped there.
