    Burrito Magnifico Wet

We live in NW Bakersfield and the drive to this little hidden treasure in Shafter is worth it; no matter where you live! There is nothing here that we've eaten that we didn't like! My husband loves the Burrito Magnifico Wet... IT'S HOT!! But he likes it that way!!! I ordered the Enchiladas Trio and that was an experience on its own, so so good; and a good way to try a lil of everything! The service was spot on and the atmosphere was casual. Definitely a secret spot for some of the best Mexican food around!!

This spot is in the next town over and it's always on our list to go for weekend breakfast. These guys make some of the best Pozole and Menudo around. The broth is flavorful, the meat cuts are consistent and reasonable, and the portions are big. They also kill it on chilaquiles. Nice spicy Chile sauce, crunchy housemade chips, and crispy chorizo on top. One of the best around. The other day we had seafood and we're not disappointed. The Caldo de Siete Mares had a great chipotle flavor and lots of seafood. My wife's mojarra frita was also well done. Definitely don't hesitate to go for a drive and check these guys out.

Authentic mexican food. Delicious, spicy salsa with other very spicy but extremely flavorful dishes.

Definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant. The trio fajitas are perfect with refried beans and rice and salsa rojo. Delicious

To give an idea of the cost: a two-item combo was $17.95, a kids bean and cheese burrito was $5.95 (not including the $3.95 apple juice), and the shrimp cocktail was $20.95. They also charge extra for sour cream (about $0.75). I'm guessing some of the pricing may reflect the location on this side of town. As for the food itself, it was solid and pretty standard for Mexican food. I ordered the shrimp cocktail, which came served in a huge margarita glass (super cute presentation) and it was loaded with shrimp. It was delicious, and I finished every last drop. My husband ordered the enchilada dinner special, which is his usual favorite, and my child had the bean and cheese burrito. Overall, this is a good spot for an occasional meal, but probably not somewhere I'd visit every week because of the prices. One tip: if you have those local high school football discount cards, use them here. They can save you about $5 on a $35 purchase.

First off it was a steady flow of customers for a Wednesday evening. Many birthdays! We were sat immediately and waiter came to take our drink order. I had a mango chamoy margarita, while my husband got a roasted chili cucumber margarita on the rocks. His drink was SPICY! I ordered the shrimp fajitas and my husband ordered the chicken and steak molcajete. Our food was brought out super fast! The portions - humongous! But the food is so good! My husband is super picky when it comes to Mexican food, and he said this molcajete is his favorite so far compared to other Mexican restaurants we've been to. The bright colorful colors and great music selection really make it joyous and fun dining experiences. Highly recommend.

When I arrived, I glanced through their menu and decided to get the "2 Hardshell Tacos" meal, with a side of rice and beans. I wanted to get one taco with chicken and one taco with beef, but I could not do that. The cashier told me that this was not allowed, and the two tacos had to have the same type of meat. Strange, I thought...I don't see why it makes any difference. Slightly disappointed, I decided on getting both tacos with beef. As I prepared to pay, I then realized that they charge a small fee for their customers who use a credit card. I was a little annoyed with this as well; so, I then decided to pay with cash. After getting a Dr. Pepper as my drink with my meal, I sat in one of their booths inside and waited for my order. The cleanliness inside was just ok. As I waited, I realized that this location does not have an internal restroom for their customers after one of their customers asked to use it. The cashier said that their restroom was outside, around the side of the building. After getting my meal, it appeared appetizing. The tacos were quite delicious, but the rice and beans were just ok. I also got some extra sauces to spice it up a bit. After departing, I noticed the restroom doors on the side of the building; They looked pretty ghetto. The outside landscaping was nicely maintained, but I was annoyed by the group of homeless people that were just camping on the grass outside this location under the trees. If I owned this business, I would ask the city to remove these individuals because they are not only an eyesore, their loitering presents a safety concern and an annoyance for their customers. It may even turn some customers away from this location as a result. Overall, the food here is pretty good, but in my opinion, this location needs to make a few improvements to deserve a higher than average rating.
