We are twice a week sonic customers. It is our fast food favorite. So we have seen some great places...and some less than stellar. We just moved to the area and this drive-In is one of the best. The servers are always polite with fantastic customer service. They get the orders right and they check on you while you are eating. Totally old school service skills. They even introduce themselves. I have not been to a sonic in a long time and I've lived near this one for a while. Loved the place as a kid but this? Was meh at best. Way too expensive for the portions. Cashier looked at me like it was my fault the card reader wouldn't work. Fries were almost burnt. Burger was okay at best. Just not great. Just left the ER and was craving sonic, pull into sonic and see they close in FIVE minutes. We order and she was so nice and kind taking our order. She came out and let us know they are making the chicken fresh so that's what the hold up was (they was closing soon so idc how long it took bc I hate being that person) she brings out food out and I apologize for being "those people" who pull in right before close. Ordered in app, 3 slushies, ETA to deliver was 6 minutes later. After that time elapsed I pushed the button and asked for my order. They said it would be out shortly it has been over 21 minutes and still no slushies. If it was busy I would understand- but there's only about 6 stalls filled. Jessica, the "owner" was probably the most annoying person I've ever had to deal with. They got our order wrong and when we have the food back, they just never came back out with our corrected food. We waited 30 min and never got anything so we had to leave. I called to tell the manager the situation and she just got an attitude, proceeded to talk over me and interrupt me, as she used "training teenagers" as a reason for her poor management skills and lack responsibility. She said "come back later and I'll get you your food corrected" haha like that makes up for having to take 2 trips and deal with her incompetence. I have lived in spring lake for 5yrs never once out of those visits to sonic have ever been positive. Im the big dummy for going there hoping that they will get my order right, or not mischarge me or the machines will work correctly, or going to the drive thru without being rush off because the lines are backed up and finding out once I got home that once again I dont have all my food in the bag. I went there today and pulled up in the stall press the button the girl tells me to wait a minute but she still has her speaker on so I can hear her whole conversation it's loud. I begin to roll up my window and that's when she wants to acknowledge me and asked me what stall I'm in. Confused I asked if she was speaking to me like she had no class she confirmed that I was the person with the pink shirt park right in front of her. If you know where I'm parked at why are you asking me what stall I'm in? Then with zero customer service skills start arguing semantics with me about what I'm ordering. I will never in my whole life ever go back to the Sonic's it is literally right around the corner from my house. The food tastes okay...however my biggest issue is the food has been close to cold every time I would go there when they give it to me.

I've been here a few times and was treated with either slow service, wrong items in my order, being overcharged for food, and most recently food poisoning. My husband and I both got the same exact order except he got a beef sandwich while I ordered a grilled chicken wrap. Not even two hrs later I was sicker than I've ever been in my entire life, throwing up and only now about 36 hrs later am I feeling better. We looked up the reviews on Google and this establishment has so many occurrences of cross contamination, food poisoning and overall subpar service. This place didn't used to be this bad, at least 4 years ago I remember it being a decent place to order food, but it's not that way anymore. After ordering we received our food, it took a while but being that it was a Sunday afternoon that's not surprising or upsetting. As we drove up a bit I joked with my husband about how he should pull over because in the last three times we have come here since last year they always forget something. I looked in the bag and noticed that it had all the kids meals and I saw my tots and his fries so figured we were good and we continued. When we arrived home I started passing out the grub and noticed they didn't have either of our chili dogs. I suppose I should be happy the kids had their food at least. I ended up having to drive back and walk up to the door. They brought out our dogs and said sorry. (I'm usually fine with that but seriously if this happens every time you order there, maybe they just need better management) After arriving back home I noticed one of my kids who usually devours a grilled cheese in a millisecond had taken only one bite and left it. They hadn't cut it, which was odd, when I cut it the cheese was cold and I could see two slices. Almost like they toasted the bread and threw in cheese after the fact. It never even melted. Finally sat down to eat and our chili dogs were slightly under luke warm. These are the ones I'd just picked up. I get it's fast food and not fine dining, honestly leaving this huge of a review is slightly comical to me, but I really do think this place needs an overhaul. They are working hard in there you can see it, but they aren't getting anything done. Like hamsters in a wheel. I stopped in one night with my daughter for a cookies and cream shake and a sonic burger. All was well until we got to the drive up window. The young lady at the window called back my order with a cookie dough shake and sonic burger. I told the lady it was a cookies and cream shake. She says oh yeah this is a cookies and cream shake. I pay for the food and check the shake to see if it's right. Well, it had no traces of chocolate cookies. I asked the attendant was she sure it was a cookie and cream shake and she says yes. I explained to her, the shake looked tan like caramel. Finally she asks the lady who made the shake, and she tells her it is chocolate chip cookie dough. I attempt to hand her the incorrect shake and she says rudely "tell her to keep it" . I was stunned. What if I don't want too? I just really wanted the correct shake. Although they corrected the order, at first they were a bit rude about it. I still handled it with a smile and the attendant finally came around. My gripe is what if I had drove off without taking the time to unwrap my straw and dig into the mountain of whipped cream to test this shake. In short, the attendant was not sure if the order was correct and instead of checking, gave me an incorrect order and almost convinced me to believe her. Then I was talked to rudely for following up on it. Docking a star for: Rude service. please check your food before you drive off. Mistakes happen, but attendants need to fix it , double check if need be. They shouldn't make the customer feel like they belong in the time out chair either. She handed me all of my order and I asked her for the credit card slip to leave her a tip. She informed me that they do not accept credit card tips only cash. The prices have skyrocketed tremendously! Now they don't offer military discount on combos. It used to be my go-to drive through but now I guess I'll have to find one that has really good tater tots.
