The pickle tots were very good but the picklerita slush was way to sweet, not like the pickle slush they had a few years back. I use the app and normally it works pretty good, but when I pulled into my stall to pick up my food and punched in the stall number, it said that stall was not available, then I tried another stall and it was not available, so I went inside, waited about 20 minutes, which was quite a while for a cherry limeade and a chipotle chicken sandwich considering I had ordered on the app about 10 to 15 minutes prior, but eventually it came out. It wasn't too bad But I have better service at the Rockford location than at this one. read more

About a week ago, my husband stopped at the Sun Prairie, Wi. Sonic and ordered several items at the counter including pickle tots, a burger and a chicken sandwich. He inquired whether he could get the chicken sandwich with pickles and lettuce but without mayonnaise and with smasher sauce, on the side, because I don't care for mayonnaise. They said yes. He brought the food to the farm where I was working and when we opened the bag and sandwich it was burnt dak brown, it had no pickles, and at had 4 small shreds of lettuce (about the size of a fingernail) and no smasher sauce at all. I was working out in a field with horses and there was no place I could get any kind of sauce for this chicken sandwich, and when I tried to try to eat it dry, it was so overcooked that I could not bite through it or even tear a piece off. I had to go without anything to eat except a couple of pickle tots (which they also did not put the sauces in the bag for) until almost midnight. We called the Sun Prairie Sonic and left a message and they NEVER called back. Husband was in Sun Prairie today and went to Sonic and ordered the same meal, showing them his receipt and telling them he had left a message last week. The counter person was instantly rude and asked what they wanted them to do about it. Saying they didn't have the "code" to get any messages. My husband told them that he just wanted the sandwich that he had ordered and paid for last week. With no mayo and the smasher sauce on the side. The "manager" took his receipt and said they would comp the chicken sandwich only (even though they had not given us the sauce for the pickle tots last week either) My husband thanked him and waited for the order, and when he checked it in the car before leaving, the chicken sandwich was literally drowning in MAYONAISE and had almost no lettuce and no pickles. It was a blatant passive aggressive action by this very rude and unprofessional "manager". My husband showed him the sandwich and asked why they put all the mayonnaise on the chicken, and this "manager" responded that he didn't watch them make it, and that he was not going to make another one. He said I can just refuse service to you. I guess they were dreaming about how funny it would be with my husband driving 40 miles again to bring me another ruined sandwich, but they got caught when he checked it in the car. So my husband told him he wanted a refund for the sandwich the "manager" said he was going to call the police! This is the worst fast food restaurant in the area, they don't care to get an order correct, then they are rude, or will lie right to your face trying not to correct their errors. My husband had also ordered other food today, but after seeing what they deliberately did to destroy the sandwich that they didn't want to replace from last week, we don't trust that they didn't do something else passive aggressive to the rest of the food in the order as well, so it will be going into the garbage. I contacted their corporate feedback people and we will see if anything is done. I had previously witnessed, from the dining room, a Sun Prairie Sonic employee being abusive to an older woman that had brought a messed up drive through order back into the restaurant, and calling her a "Karen", then claiming they thought that was her name when she said "my name is not Karen, and I know what that means." I did not know the situation that time, now I understand completely. I have also seen them drop food on the floor and then pick it up and try to serve it to a customer. I also found the restroom absolutely filthy. We should never have gone back to this Sonic after those incidents, and now we will never go to another Sonic anywhere again. My husband is an elderly man, a 45 year business owner with an excellent reputation in our community. He has been awarded for his service to community organizations and leadership. We have never and would never treat any customer like these people do. The incompetence is one thing, but the horrible service and passive aggressive retaliation against people that just want what they had ordered, and paid for, and shows on their receipts in inexcusable. It is frightening to think what they could do to peoples food behind that kitchen door. read more

As a lifelong Wisconsinite I've never been treated worse at a fastfood location in Sun Prairie or Wisconsin for that matter. I ordered two Quarter Pound Double cheeseburgers with No Pickles, No Mustard, Add onion. After my family started eating and their faces got dim and unhappy i looked at the Burgers. They were completely wrong so I simply called for a refund no big deal. "You have to call corporate for a refund" I'm told. "Okay can you give me that number?" "No" "Okay well are you going to help me?" "Ummmmmm" Click She hangs up Alright thats not okay. I drive down with the Packer game starting. A employee comes out and I ask for Store Manager. A unprofessionally dressed young man with a oversized Chicago Bulls hat on looks at me like he doesnt care at all. "You have to call corporate" So I go to do so and the Manager Howls like a dog after walking back into the kitchen. I was never ONCE given an apology or told Im sorry by anyone I spoke with at the location.Neither was I offered to have the order Remade. Even Corporate refused to refund me for the order. I Threw the food into the garbage and left Ive missed the 1st Quarter of the Packers vs 49ers game dealing with this. If you have respect for others you shouldn't go here unless it's the last place in town with food. I will never return. read more

the service was astoundingly terrible. nobody was at the front window and wouldn't come to it, then for the orders. they put absolutely no salt on my pretzel sticks, and then for the cheeseburger they infact did not put anything i requested and did the ONE thing i requested none of and that was mayonnaise. giving the service one star is giving them grace. read more

I love Sonic, but the one closest to us is so under staffed, the wait is 45 minutes or more! So we've stopped eating there.

Manager is standing around doing nothing, he won't speak to any customers begging for a refund. 10 cars not one being served. After 15 painful minutes of waiting for our food we asked when it will be ready they said they were, "making it now," but that was not the case waited 15 more minutes for nothing. I wish I could be more positive. Every time we try and use the app it never works right. When we try and order in the drive through then, they won't honor the special if you don't order in the app. Tonight we pulled into a stall to order and after quite a while someone comes on the speaker and says they are only taking orders in the drive through which we JUST had waited in line for previously. My husband then placed an order (not getting the special price either) and after waiting for another 15 minutes finally went in and asked what the heck. Just ordered via the App and a couple issues but one of the biggest was app wouldn't allow a Chicago dog to be ordered so we had to order a second order (per lady on speaker) and make it for any other dog (which took choosing all dogs before it getting one app said was available would go thru). Then when we got food was missing cheese for pretzels and even when I asked about the missing nerds in my slushee (rt44) she said she made it and they ate all at the bottom - umm photo on boards shows them mixed thru. I was told at the drive up kiosk that it is drive thru only and have seen about 15 cars get there food before mine. I have been waiting in the drive thru line for 30 minutes now and still counting. No sense of urgency around this sonic. Is it so hard to get a damn shake and fry. read more

Sonic has decent enough food but where they lack is in their drinking cups. I have never put my finger through a cup from any where...though I have had the lid pop off. But my last visit to Sonic made me realize I will never order a drink from thme again until they start using a differnt distributor for their cups read more

Just returned home from our visit to Sonic. 1st time at a Sonic in 10 years. Went to a drive in order stall and parked. Got everyone''s order ready, pushed the button and was told I had to go through drive thru. Ok. But also, maybe put that on the video monitor in the stall too. So, we back out of the stall and head to the drivethru. Several cars in line, and the wait to order was long, but we were hungry. Ordering was easy, and the young man taking the order was very helpful. He earned the star. So we wait. And wait. And WAIT. We wait so long that the car behind us gives up and leaves AFTER ORDERING. We were easily in the drive thru waiting for food for 30 minutes. No acknowledgment of the wait time from the person in drive thru. She was nice enough, I guess, but wasn't particularly a people person. I'll give that a pass, 2022. She asked if we "ordered a lot of food". ? ? Um... compared to what? So she starts listing item numbers. I have no idea what they were so I just told her what we ordered. She had trouble with the gift cards and how they processed. I'm pretending she was new. The food overall was mostly ok; not great. Just meh. Fries were good. The churros were inedible. They were CAKED with so much sugar and cinnamon that I wasn't even sure there was a churro underneath it. I attempted to brush it off, but there was no way. I'd have needed a chisel. Basically food was not anywhere near worth the wait. I'm pretty sure we were overcharged, but will never know because we didn't get a receipt. Went through the drive thru and there was a sign on the speaker saying the speaker was broken so we pulled up to the window and waited for 10 minutes and the two workers with black hair one wearing a white zip up hoodie and one wearing a camo hoodie saw us and ignored us so we came inside to get a shake and they said the shake machine was broken and there shake machine clearly wasn't broken and they were just lazy and didnt want to clean it again. We got fries and there was a dark black long hair in my food... my hair is light brown. They were NOT wearing gloves in the kitchen and they were on there phones and cooking at the same time. And waited..... and waited. We flagged down a food deliver guy (delivering to another car) and told him we'd been waiting 20 minutes for our food (3 burgers and tots). He disappeared inside. First time here so wasn't sure what to expect. I had my window rolled half way up because I thought maybe they would hang a tray with my food on the window like car hop places use to do. I guess not. They came out with the tray but food was in a bag and everything was handed through the window. Guess it makes sense-they don't have to come back out to get the tray and I can leave when I want. I ordered the New York Dog combo with tater tots and cherry limeade. Not picture perfect meaning the dog looks bigger in the picture. I could hardly find it in the bun. It came with sauerkraut, mustard and raw diced onion. Although a lot of bun, I have to say it was tasty. Tatie tots were Krispy and not greasy and lime aid refreshing but the lid was not tight so when I tilted it to take a drink I got a nice surprise with cold liquid down my front. It costs $6.89an't beat the $1.50 Costco dog and refillable drink. I noticed they have a breakfast menu served all day. For Me this is a once in a long time stop and would not be a first choice unless I wanted one of their signature limeade drinks. read more

This sonic is a hit or miss. When we order in the app online and pull up to the stalls sometimes it takes five minutes some times it takes thirty. The drive-thru is fine but sometimes it gets busy. The food is overpriced but it's not terrible for a fast food place. read more

My daughter loves sonic. So I go there as it's a better alternative than McDonald's. Today I decided that I would try something new that they had on the menu for myself. Boy was that a nightmare. We waited in the drive thru for more than 15 min just to get the wrong order..... My mom and I both ordered the same thing which was a new chicken sandwich and we got home and they had given us two burgers that looked like they had to scrape them off the floor and threw them together on a bun. Smelt awful. My mom had to eat hers as she was in a hurry to get home. I drove back to sonic to give them back mine and get the correct sandwich. When I got home to eat it-it was a HUGE let down. Tasted AWFUL. Never again The manager was friendly and gave me a free combo meal for the next time. I don't know what's hard about getting an order right-if they are understaffed then corporate needs to address that so that things are put out properly. read more
