I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Sonic Drive-In located at 14018 FM 2920 in Tomball, TX. I placed an order through the Sonic app at 4:01 PM and was given an estimated ready time of 4:07 PM. I arrived around 4:10 PM, checked in through the app, and waited for my order. By 4:30 PM, after sitting there for 20 minutes, I pressed the call button and politely asked if there was an issue with my order that I wasn't aware of, explaining that I had children at home waiting for me to return with fresh food. I was told there was "no issue" and that they were simply "a little busy." After waiting another 10 minutes with no food and no updates, I requested a refund. A young employee finally came to my car around 4:40 PM with a refund receipt. The most frustrating part of this experience wasn't just the wait--it was the complete lack of communication. If the kitchen was backed up and my order was going to be delayed by more than 30 minutes past the promised ready time, someone should have informed me. Instead, I sat there wondering what was going on while my prepaid order was apparently nowhere close to being ready. There is no reasonable excuse for a customer to wait over 30 minutes past the estimated pickup time without any proactive communication, especially when the order was placed and paid for in advance through the app. This experience was unacceptable and reflects very poor customer service. Sonic needs to do better when it comes to managing online orders and communicating delays to customers. This happens far too regularly for this to be a just an off day. read more

They shorted me an entree and all of the condiments I ordered and then when I came back they told me "the manager put it in the bag." Great Sonic location with quick service! It's the perfect drink stop. Arrive during Happy Hour - 3pm- 5pm and get discounts on your favorite Sonic drinks. We stopped for my ultimate craving- the Diet Cherry Limeade. These drinks are so sweet and delicious and really hit the spot on a hot Texas day. This location decorates for the holidays, so it's a really nice addition to the community. It's great to see some effort put in by a local business to contribute to the spirit of the town. This is my medium butterfinger sonic blast with extra butterfinger. I called the manager and she apologized but didn't offer to make it right. She just asked me if there was anything else I need. It cost me an .50 cents for the extra butterfinger that I didn't get, plus I got the equivalent that comes in a small cup for a medium charge. So the way I see it, sonic owes me at least a dollar for the product and a free meal for my time in having to call the manager and leave this review, but doubt I'll ever get anything else from there again. This was the WORST Sonic I have ever been to. I was craving a breakfast burrito on our way to SA, so we stopped in for a quick meal at Sonic in Tomball. My sons both ordered burger meals & my husband a chicken sandwich. After waiting for 30 minutes I pushed the button and asked how much longer it would be. They told me they were bagging our food and it would be right out. Then 10 minutes more passed and I pushed the button again to ask. They told me it still wasn't ready. So I asked to speak to the manager because it had her. 40 min by that time. 10 minutes later the manager came out and said that he sent out the food so someone in a different car probably took it, so he'd redo it. I asked for a refund because we waited so long. He agreed but it took another 20 minutes to get our food. In total we were there for an hour and 10 minutes. when we got the order it was wrong, the tots and fries were mixed together and cold and they even forgot one of the cheeseburgers. I do love me some Sonic! I have to come back here at least once every time I'm in town - we don't have any Sonics where I live now, and it's definitely a childhood favorite. This particular Sonic is reasonably fast.. maybe because they never seem to be busy? That part is a mystery to me. I vary what I get as far as burgers (the #2 and the Texas Toast burger are pretty good), but I always have to get two items that Sonic does better than any other fast food restaurant: tots and a cherry limeade. This past Wednesday my wife and I chose Sonic over all of the other places for lunch. We placed our order. A person came to our window and repeated an order to us that she was about to give us. It was not our order. She walked away. She came back later with what she described as our order. We accepted it and apprehensively pulled from the drive through to a parking space. Upon looking at the receipt and trying to figure out how 2 lunches can add up to almost $40.00 , we then looked at the food. We were charged for an additional cheeseburger that we didn't order (which was over $5.00 on the receipt, the onion rings were blackened (burnt), the jalapeno burger ordered was a single burger, we asked for easy on the ice, they were both mostly ice. We called and sent the burgers and onion rings back. Once we were finally given the correct order the carhop gave us a $5.00 bill for the almost $6.00 we were charged for. She also gave us a poker chip for a free drink. Not only did we get the short end of the stick on the whole thing, this is not acceptable to charge this much and jack the order up as much as it was. I will be telling everyone I know of the poor quality and high prices we were given. I am throwing away the poker chip we were given. I will not be back to this location or any other sonic store. You may be able to pass this kind of terrible service to some but not me. This used to be a reputable store. It has failed miserably. Beware! Tonight I was in the area & went through the drive thru to order a double bacon cheeseburger combo. The girl taking our order didn't seem like she wanted to be there and she didn't ask if we wanted the larger drink. I left thinking everything was on my burger as it was ordered and found out after I got home, the burger had NO bacon and it tasted like it was sitting around for a while. It didn't make sense to go all the way back because I don't live close to this location. I checked my receipt and yes it said there should be bacon. It's not the first time this has happened. Something is usually either missing or wrong. I've ordered diet sodas and received regular or my burger is wrong half the time. So beware! I have strong suspicion that a debit card number theft took place by an employee at this location. On Sunday, January 25, 2015, I was passing through Tomball and stopped at this Sonic and tried to pay using my debit card (at the order station). It was not able to read my card. The carhop (a sketchy looking fellow) took my card back to the restaurant to pay for my food. A few days later, I get a call from Bank of America stating that someone was trying to use my debit card number for a $200 purchase at Target in Magnolia. I don't live in the area, and that was the only time I used my debit card in that area recently.
