This spot never misses. The staff is always welcoming, genuinely friendly, and super attentive without being overbearing. This time I tried one of their specials - a soup and sandwich combo for $8.95 - and it completely exceeded expectations. The soup was basically a deconstructed pot pie with a homemade biscuit on top, and the portion was huge. I happened to get the last serving from the pot, so they hooked it up with a little extra instead of letting it go to waste, which I definitely appreciated. What really stood out was how hearty it was. There was way more protein than you'd expect from a typical soup, so it was actually filling and satisfying, not just something light on the side. I can back with my mother in law to have a nice sit down breakfast together. This is both our second time coming here but this time together. We love this little place it's got a nice bakery along with a cozy cabin look inside. The service was amazing the young lady who took care of us was really sweet. This time I tried the Grizzly Bear breakfast love my bacon, the way the eggs were cooked and the gravy on the massive biscuit was delicious. This is such a cute little restaurant in Tomball! I love their commitment to theme. They have so many little touches that really make this place feel like a cozy cabin. The parking situation isn't ideal, but don't let that discourage you from stopping in. We came by around 8:30 on a Sunday morning and were so sad to see that the restaurant wasn't busier. All of the staff was incredibly friendly. They greeted us with bright smiles when we came in and got us seated immediately. I couldn't decide between two different coffees and waited to order my own until I could try the iced vanilla latte that my husband ordered. It was so good that I was even more conflicted when our waiter asked what I would like to order. I told him that I was between that or their holiday peppermint. He recommended the peppermint as one of his favorites so that's what I chose. It did not disappoint!! It tasted like a muted version of a Ghirardelli peppermint bark square in a coffee. It was so good without being overly sweet, and it event had little pieces of peppermint in it. It was definitely one of the best holiday coffees I've ever had. I ordered the Southwest bowl. I asked to exclude the peppers that it comes with. When they brought our food, the runner let me know that they decided to put my salsa on the side since it had tiny cut up peppers in it and they weren't sure how severe it was. Then our waiter, Wyatt, came by to check that everything came out okay and he also let me know that he decided to put the salsa on the side in case my exclusion of peppers was due to an allergy. I thought that was so incredibly thoughtful and kind of them. They didn't inquire with me if it was an allergy, they just took it upon themselves to take that extra little step to ensure I'd be safe if it was. The coffee was great and so was the food! Cute little eatery right off main strip. Have both indoor and outdoor seating. Couldn't beat their biscuit special (biscuit sandwich with egg, bacon, & cheese) and a coffee for 7.99. Their biscuits are pretty large and in charge. I saved some room to move from their eats to their sweets. Shared a slice of sweet potato maple cake topped with cream cheese frosting. It summed up all those wanted fall flavors, now if the weather would follow suit. Enjoyed all the simple details from throw pillows to the plaid lumber jack fabric napkins. Sugar fest today. Dessert was Texas sheet cake and homemade cheesecake. And that was on top of warm cinnamon apples that we ordered with the chicken and waffles and French toast biscuits. I would've preferred the chicken cooked crunchy, but maybe that's just my personal taste. In retrospect I wish I had ordered a more savory dish with eggs or something. Came here this morning with a group of 4 and we all really liked the aesthetics of the place and the staff were friendly. I lucked out by landing on this place for breakfast. Nestled, in Tomball - Pine Street is a hidden gem with good food and some neat looking decor. From a food perspective, there is a bit of a wilderness flair sprinkled through the menu. I elected to order the Tomball Stacker and I got my son a waffle and cheesy eggs. The stacker was the perfect build of tastiness. It had a biscuit, maple sausage, hash brown casserole, and over medium egg smothered in a scrumptious sausage gravy. It all played nice together. My son's waffle had the perfect balance of crisp and softness. He was able to dress his waffles with syrup, Nutella, and fruit. He eggs were full of gooey cheese which made him very happy - and that made me happy. I love this place and will be back for sure! read more

In my (extremely modest) opinion since growing up here, Tomball had been missing a really good breakfast joint. I've now been here twice in the last month, and I can finally say that this box has been checked. The menu has pretty good depth. The food has been fantastic. The hashbrown Casserole is magnificent. Every entree I've had has been good, and would order again. Even so, I keep wanting to try something new every time I come through. The service is consistently solid. It's a little slow, but that's to be expected in this setting. The food comes out hot, and fresh. The place is very clean, dining area, waiting room, and bathrooms included. There is street parking all around the area. There are bars and other shopping areas within walking distance. It's well situated near anything else you may want to do before or after. Let's start off with the positive, arrived around 9am was seated immediately only 2 other couples in the place. We enjoy trying new places for breakfast on the weekends. Staff was friendly, answered all questions we had about the menu items. We ordered the same thing and it arrived to the table in a very reasonable amount of time but here is where it went downhill. The prices for what was offered were WAY over inflated. Eggs were cold, sausage patty was cold, biscuit was crispy on the outside and cool enough on the inside it did not even melt the butter when the two halves were put back together. We were both VERY disappointed and will not be visiting again. If we are going to spend $35.00+ on breakfast for the 2 of us we except the food quality to be MUCH better. read more

This place has a rather sinful little menu. Breakfast sandwiches with variations including fresh buttermilk biscuits, crispy fried chicken, grilled ham, Swiss cheese and Dijon honey mustard. French toast biscuits, loaded waffle fries, omelettes and even some rabbit food. I had the huntsman breakfast sandwich, which is more of a knife and fork type of sandwich than it is a grab and hold but, delicious and indulgent nonetheless. The other star of the show was the hash brown casserole; comes out in a little single serving skillet nice and warm, cheesy and soft with a touch of sweetness that I did not expect - I could eat these all the time. Oh and then there was the lemon bar. Tastes like you would expect, nice bright lemony flavor, decent crust holding it together and a surprisingly thick meringue (I think that's what it is?). Service was a little slow but we were warned ahead by the note on that door, so no big deal. They were friendly and accurate with the orders. Wife and I stopped on here for breakfast before a morning of antiquing. So this was my highlight of the day. JK. So the interior resembles a Black Bear diner a bit. Woodsy with bears and red/blk plaid. Menu was small, but that's good for us. Stick to making a few things great. And that's what they do. We both had traditional breakfast- eggs, bacon (thick sliced peppered). She had half a waffle that was pretty dang good. I had a specialty, the French toast biscuit. Oh yes. They take a homemade biscuit, split it in half and French toast it. It's awesome. Really. As for coffee, they serve in big to go cups so that's good. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but our visit to Pine Street Eat and Sweets was a mess from start to finish. We were told it would be a 20-minute wait ended up waiting 30. Fine. But then it took another 30 minutes just to place our order. No one ever came by to offer refills either. Then came the kicker they were out of waffles and pancakes . Still, we waited another 30 minutes only to be told they had run out of food entirely and couldn't serve us, while other tables around us were still getting their meals. The staff seemed disorganized, communication was terrible, and overall, this was a complete waste of time. We left hungry, frustrated, and completely unimpressed. Would not recommend. read more

What a hidden gem! Took a trip to the farmers market and decided to pick a breakfast spot nearby and we're so glad we gave this place a try! You really feel like you are out in a cabin on a secluded trip so they really nailed the design and ambiance. Almost forgot where we were until walking outside. We got sat right away and everyone working was very friendly. If you got coffee, then someone would come around a bit asking if you'd like a refill. The food was so yummy! Biscuit was thick and buttery. I asked to try their apple butter spread with it and they gave me more than enough of that. Delicious! Their spreads are homemade so I bet they all are good. The side of cinnamon apples was too good; they really need to be making apple pies with that. I'm a huge hashbrown casserole lover and this one lives up to my expectations. My over medium eggs were cooked perfectly which honestly is so hard to get because most places will undercook them but this place actually made my eggs the way they should be cooked. We decided to try them out Sunday around 11:30. The place wasn't too full, there were some empty tables but it wasn't empty. The place is very cute and looks new! We (2p) arrived after another family and were told to wait to be seated by a staff member. 5 minutes went by and neither us or the family before us had been seated. My boyfriend decided to ask another person and she sat us right away. We mentioned the other people had gotten here before us so she sat them too. I don't like egg so I asked if I could substitute the 2 eggs on the "mama bear breakfast" for anything and they said no. Most places do, I think 1 biscuit or an extra slice of bacon is probably less than 2 eggs but it is what it is. I ended up going with the meat lovers bowl with a waffle on the side. My potatoes were very dry and honestly tasted under room temp. The meat was warm but not hot. The gravy and biscuit were also cold. I understand potatoes are made beforehand because they may take longer too cook but it wouldn't hurt to heat the food up. The waffle was great! Although the waffle had some powdered sugar it wasn't too sweet even with the syrup on top! Our server never asked us if we needed anything or any refills after she brought us our food and didn't come back until she asked if she could take our plates. Unfortunately, we won't be back. Along with cookies and edible creations you could only find in a place called Tomball! Staff quickly seated us. Minutes later revealed my sister in-law was meeting us here with her family. Table for 7 please! Staff was super accommodating and placed us at the big table. Examining the menu I saw what said they make French Toast Biscuits here!!! What in the WORLD is a FRENCH TOAST BISCUIT? Seriously took me 38 years to find such a creation of fat kid sweet and salty heaven on earth with a breakfast sammy. Waitress explained what it was and it was exactly what I had dreamed of and was confident I would enjoy! Order up please one French Toast Biscuit with egg, cheddar, sausage, and mayo badass breakfast sandwich!!! Coffee was good here. Staff filled the cups multiple times. Food here took a little time to make but this place was popping on all cylinders with a full house. My FTB was delivered and did not disappoint. It was exactly what I daydreamed about when the waitress had described it. I also had warm cinnamon apple side which were amazing. Came in and was initially impressed, really nice interior. Gave me a Colorado vibe. The waitress with the red hair and bangs sat us. Took our drink order and forgot about us for quite sometime while she waited on someone else that came in 10 min after us, she never came back around but Elise swooped in to save the day once she saw our frustration and definitely made the experience much better. I was not a fan of the sausage, seemed more like a hamburger and didn't taste too good. The syrup and butter is ice cold so not the greatest on the waffles but they were still pretty good plain. The eggs were cooked just right. Elise sat and talked with us about the places beginning and it was refreshing. She also sold us on the bakery items which tasted great. Felt like no one was in charge of keeping everything organized & going. We stood at hostess station for a while waiting for someone to notice us. We then sat for a while at the table. Seemed like the staff were all young girls with no direction. They waited on tables that came in after others. A table next to ours got their food, but didn't have silverware. They waited a bit to get it. We saw an owner/ manager couple ladies come out a few times, but they didn't seem to look at what was going on. Aside from all of this which was a huge turnoff, the food was AMAZING!! They just need to tighten up the service out on the floor. ---Dearest Reader I write with full belly and pleased palette. The Lore is true. Just off the Main trail, amidst the Pine Street you will find the early morning nourishment you need. The food portions are plentiful and can easily serve two - I am usually able to save a decent portion to reheat the next morning. To further elaborate, its reheatability ranks on a 9/10 for me. Where to start...the french toast biscuit is absolute money (if you're in to that kind of thing). To me, the texture is a cross between a biscuit and french toast with the aesthetics resembling that of a biscuit. It is not overly sweet and pairs very well with their gravy. Speaking of their gravy. Easily on my Mt. Rushmore of restaurant gravy. Huge chunks of their sausage and not to thick/thin, and well seasoned with both salt and pepper. I could eat this stuff with anything. Now let's talk chicken - the tenders (I'll order a side tender for a meagre $3) eat more like a small chicken breast. Pine Street is a solid restaurant. The food quality is good and portions are fair. However, I want PSE is be exceptional. It's a beautiful location and the fact that it is locally owned is a huge reason I want this place to be better. It could be!! I hate to give 3 stars but truly hope I can change it soon. We went there after seeing ads in the local paper. I'm always on the lookout for the best breakfast spot. So here goes... FOOD: Food was wonderful. Husband had biscuits and gravy and they were good. The biscuits are exceptional. They are obvi homemade and kind of a crunchy outer with yummy soft interior!! The fact that you can take home some awesome pastries on your way out is a huge plus. Our Mama bear meals were cooked well and served up perfectly. The Hashbrown casserole was one of the reasons I wanted to go to PSE. It sounded so good and the flavor was in fact really good. The photos show cheesy hashbrowns in (what I thought) a cast iron skillet. This is where PSE goes off the rails. The mini cast iron skillet which would make the contents hot and scrumptious is actually plastic! As are the serving plates and some of the furnishings. PSE makes this great food in this great environment and then serves it up on plastic! Please stop! Ceramic serving plates and REAL cast iron minis would make such a difference. The food is deserving of a more substantial plating. The food seemed to get colder faster and it simply cheapens what could be an exceptional experience. There is a consumer psychology that works against PSE here. I say all this so that the MGMT will consider it. It makes the difference in the long run. If I didn't care, I wouldn't say it. Those same hashbrowns served in a hot mini skillet would be crunchy, gooey and so cheesy good! I get that it's expensive, but Invest in some real wood tables (as you can) and quality plate wear, ceramic mugs and those great mini skillets! They can become a great brand opportunity. Skillet hashbrowns, brownies, and some of your scrumptious pastries can be morphed to skillet delicacies! This is a place I would make a regular spot on my breakfast routine if I knew the food was served hot and appropriately plated. Enough on that. STAFF: The wait staff was great. We were there on a Tuesday am and the crowd was slim. ATMOSPHERE; Building is super cute in a faux rustic log cabin vibe. Red and black plaid theme is well executed. The large main room is loud and hollow due to the high ceiling and concrete floors. The addition of some flooring or rugs in the common area might help with that. Had breakfast there today and it was so so. I see a number of reviews mentioning things I'm about to say but a lot of 4-5 star reviews. We both had the Mama Bear. The food was just ok but the temperature was lukewarm to room temperature! It came out really quickly and after starting to eat and the temperature being as it was we knew everything must be pre-cooked and under lamps. Which is not what we expected. It's a cute little restaurant but we won't return. The butter on our biscuits didn't even melt and the butter on our waffles barely melted on one area. That's not hot, fresh food!
