C'est une tuerie! The souffles are truly to die for and I didn't expect Houston to have such a great restaurant for souffles, much less Texas! I went with the prix fixe, starting with the half marshmallow soup, which was like a tomato soup with an amazingly delightful and light goat cheese souffles with a drizzle of pesto. Wow, what a start! I also indulged myself with a French Bubbles Flight, because why not? It's Sunday brunch and I've worked 6 days last week, so let's go! I went with the Truffle Infused Mushroom Souffle for my entree and I savored every bite (or scoop?). I'm going to be dreaming about this one and the seasonal Key Lime souffle for dinner? Shout out to my server Eric for recommending this one, because it's a winner! Not overly sweet, not too sour, letting the melty and fluffy souffle be the star of every bite with a bright fragrance of lime each time. Am I dead and in heaven? We settled into the patio, wrapped in greenery with a soft overcast that sets the mood for the afternoon. We had a voucher for a complimentary dessert soufflé, but the savory option sounded too far tempting to pass up. So we gave in and ordered both! The Jambon & Gruyère Soufflé was the perfect balance of a custardy, airy, and fluffiness. The Strawberry Soufflé arrived looking stunning, the dramatic slow pour built the right amount of excitement, and the first bite was absolutely worth the wait. A cappuccino was essential to round out the sweetness of the dessert. While the lack of latte art was a bit letdown, it was still a great pairing. We truly enjoyed every moment with one more voucher waiting to redeem. We're excited to return during night time for a different experience. read more

Lovely ambiance and great service. This was my first time experiencing lunch at Rise Soufflé with a friend. Lunch with a 20%tip was $100. I find this a bit high for afternoon dining and all we had to drink was iced tea. My marshmallow soup had a good flavor but it was served warm and not hot which ruined the soup for me. For my entree I had the mushroom soufflé. The portion is huge and although it tasted good the texture gets very boring and monotonous. The strawberry dessert soufflé was also very large and came with a sweet sauce that you're supposed to pour onto it. It was mushy and soupy and extremely sweet. The apricot iced tea was the star of the show. I'm glad I experienced Rise Soufflé but I'm afraid it's a One & Done for me. read more

Very nice restaurant with indoor and patio seating with European style decorations that transport you to Italy/France. They bring out a complimentary board of bread and butter. First time here as this was a suggestion from a friend who lives in Houston. Love the concept and decor of this restaurant. Not busy on a Thursday afternoon and staff were all very friendly. We were seated by the kitchen immediately when we arrived. We opted for the 3 course prefixe. I got the marshmallow soup for my starter, jambon and Gruyère soufflé for my entree, and raspberry soufflé for my dessert. While my husband ordered the French onion soup for his starter, truffle mushroom soufflé for entree, and banana foster soufflé for his dessert. I also ordered a nonalcoholic drink (pomegranate) and we got complimentary bread as well. I must say everything was plated nicely and food was pretty good but too much soufflé. It was too rich for me so I wished I ordered salad for my entree instead. Flavor wise, it was a bit too bland for me so I had to add salt to the butter for the bread, the soup and savory soufflé. As for dessert, the sweet soufflé was not sweet enough but it was not bad, only wished the raspberry soufflé had real fruit on top or inside. The banana foster was a seasonal flavor and it had real banana in the soufflé but the banana was not ripe and had that bitterness on my tongue. I would prefer extra riped banana. This of course is just my personal preference so this might be perfect for others! Overall, cool experience and definitely a unique concept so definitely recommend giving this place a try when you're in Houston or nearby the woodlands. read more

I've always wanted to try this place ever since it opened! Finally, made my way here... it's a different kind of experience. I think everyone should try it at least once. Glad our waiter gave us a heads up to order our dessert in advance due to the preparation. Dessert is a must! Personally, not a fan of soufflé unless it's a dessert.. After trying Rise No. 1 and No. 2, we enjoyed our visit at No.4, which is decorated in the same romantic and quirky way and serves the same delicious soufflés. Not only do they have sweet (including seasonal flavors) and savory soufflés (think crab or truffle!), there are also fish, steak, chicken entrees to choose from. They had a 3 course prix fixe menu available for $39. ** Marshmallow soup -- initially a little nervous about this since I don't like marshmallows or goat cheese, so they were able to serve the "marshmallows" on the side. Loved how they drew a smiley face on my soup instead, haha~ The "marshmallows" were actually were quite tasty, with a mild cheese / tofu-like flavor, yum! And the soup was rich, warm, and comforting. Like a creamy tomato soup without the acidity. ** Seared tuna -- the tuna was crusted in herbs and seasoning and was seared nicely with a super pink center. Easily enjoyed alone, but the sauce on the side was also tasty (and spicy!!!). The vegetables on the side were covered with a mayonnaise-like sauce which I felt didn't add much. Enjoyed the tuna though~ ** Pistachio souffle -- came with a cream sauce but was already sweet enough to enjoy by itself! The souffle was fluffy without tasting too much of egg. I didn't think the pistachio flavor was very strong, but this made a nice sweet treat. We also ordered the pecan praline souffle (very sweet) and the sun dried tomato souffle which were both tasty but shadowed by the pistachio souffle. The tomato souffle had more of a cheesy savory flavor that was too much for me for more than a few bites but MT mowed through it and gave it a thumbs up! The service we received was amazing-- our waiter, Miguel, was friendly and seemed sincerely sweet, checking on us every now and then and never missing a beat refilling my water at least 12 times (thank you, I was thirsty!). Usually I feel like visits from the manager seem a little forced, but the lady who swung by made us feel very welcome. They even comped us an additional dessert soufflé to try since we ordered one for dessert to share. Thanks for a memorable date! read more

I started with the dessert flight bc I rarely see that offered. They were all delicious. I'm a red person so enjoyed those more of course. Wanted to try everything so went with the three courses offered. The marshmallow soup is just as good as described by fellow reviewers. The truffle mushroom soufflé was amazing, do light and fluffy. Came here for a late lunch. Ordered Salad Nicoise, white wine and their seasonal Banana Foster souffle. Baguette was baked fresh and served with butter. Rilette was complimentary with the purchase of any item on happy hour. I douse the sesame crusted tuna with lots of ground pepper. The pepper they provide at the table is the best! They make souffles in all sorts of flavors year round. I am most excited about their fall souffles! Always great! Service is good, ambiance was relaxing and nice. I do miss the Uptown/Galleria location - I went there to celebrate when I closed on my first house! But I'm happy to know that Rise has moved shop a bit up north to The Woo. I went with a group of 10+ ladies, and we ordered just about everything... like, everything. We had everything from french onion soup and salade niçoise to the cheese plate to a dozen different soufflés. My absolute favorites were the cauliflower and goat cheese (savory option) and the raspberry and chocolate (dessert). My gf ordered both the raspberry and chocolate dripppp to accompany it, and #noregrets. With copious amounts of bubbles (probably 4-5 bottles) and wine, it came out to ~$75 person with tip. Not bad! And, it was great to learn that soufflé is very low-carb. read more

Wow! This place delivered for sure. It was a bit of a drive from the Woodlands but when I got there it was in a cute spot with plenty of parking. Very cute decor and quiet. The menu was unique. I had the marshmallow soup which you have to try. So good. I also had the hot chocolate-delish and I loved the presentation. Yall don't even skip the bread please. They brought this delicious freshly made bread on a really cool board with a knife attached that cut through it while staying attached to the board. My soufflé was the southwest chicken, it had good flavor! I got to try my friend's truffle mushroom soufflé which was also really good. The star was dessert-I had the praline soufflé. The candied nuts really shined in that dish! The service was wonderful and we had great conversation with our server too! Can't wait to try again sometime. :) read more

My wife and I stopped in for a night cap and a dessert. We were greeted by an eager hostess but opted to sit at the bar. The bartender was very helpful in helping us understand the menu and walk us through the variations of soufflé! We ordered a cappuccino and two soufflés and while we waited, our bartender brought us some complementary bread. Not unremarkable but a well made bread served on a little cutting board with a guillotine style knife. The atmosphere was warm with a well stocked bar with great pairing options if you are into wines. The restaurant sports and open air kitchen viewable from most areas of the restaurant. The kitchen seemed well functioning with no chaos. First we ordered the Grand Marnier and Bread Pudding soufflés with the former being our favorite! Both were cooked perfectly and were brought to our seating promptly! If you're worried about a wait, don't. Everything was fast comparatively. The soufflés were well presented and the flavors were on point! Highly recommended if you are a soufflés connoisseur or a newbie! Great French and eclectic music and vibe. We really agree with the key principles and appreciate the fact that they do their best in food quality and even get organic to the degree possible. We like the environment with its classic European touches, which show up throughout the meal. Proper heavy cutlery, they use a Coupe Pain for the rolls, they make their own lemonade and limeade. It all matters. Food: The French onion soup was well-balanced and a great way to warm up. I really appreciated the French Press coffee. We have tried various versions of soufflés for the main meal. First visit he had the mushroom/truffle, we've subsequently tried many more such as the Duck and cheese soufflé and the Texmex chili special. With time, we've settled in the mushroom for him and the Cauliflower Brie for me. Honorable mention to their homemade lemon- and limeade. He likes the lemon in his Arnold Palmer and says it's one of his favorite versions in Houston, while I always go for the limeade. One of the first things that excited me about the menu was the fact that they offer artichoke, nicely cleaned and ready to eat with their dressing. Love that. Mr. Picky really enjoyed the salad with the sweet pecan dressing, so much so that we bought some to take home. They have a set menu for lunch which to me is a must since it's a great deal for all that you get. It's 3 courses for $39 and each course is a full size.
