    Brown. Lettuce dried hamburger

Horrible food experience at Sonic in Westland, Michigan No one is answering the phone either to call in the complaint for replacement meal.

Straw-make sure they give you one after waiting 30 minutes in the drive thru
    Aileen B.

The burger tasted great. The corn dog was typical corn dog fare. Not much variation. :) The tater tots were legit. That's where the good ends and the disappointment takes over. I ordered a peanut butter and banana shake, but there was no peanut butter in it. The banana shake tasted good, but wasn't what I wanted. We ordered three drinks, pulled away from the window after waiting in line over 20 minutes, and we had no straws. I pulled up to a curbside carhop spot and noticed they all had signs on them saying only the drive thru was open, so I couldn't ask for them to bring straws out. I definitely wasn't going to wait in line 20 more minutes for straws with a shake melting in the car. I called the store, but it disconnected at least 10 times in a row. If I was rating on customer service only, I'd give 1 star. (Or a negative star--wait, that's not an option.) Finally, I walked up to the building to find nary an employee. I cautiously walked in the front door and shouted, "Hello?" a few times, but nobody answered. I peeked around the corner, saw people, and tried to get their attention. They still didn't see or hear me. There were straws on the counter, so I took 5 steps to get to the counter, took 3 straws, and was walking out when one of the male employees started yelling at me. I nicely tried to explain my situation. He could have said whatever he wanted to say politely. There is no excuse to talk to someone the way he talked to me, let alone a paying customer who just needed straws that should have been in the bag. Then he scathingly said, "I hope you don't get Corona!" as I walked out, mumbling under my breath about his lack of character. Pity. The burgers are good and I love the carhop, old-time vibe, but I won't return here. Ever.

This was my first ever time at sonic and it will probably be the last. I ordered ahead and still waited at least 15 minutes. The slushies had a mess dripping down the sides of the cup. Then I get home and take out the food to find the fries only half filled, I mean come on..... well gotta go make a second dinner because my kids are still hungry. What a waste of time and money

Spicy slinger going into the garbage
    Fast Eddie W.

I went to Sonic today after a L-O-N-G hiatus away from them and ordered 2 of their spicy chicken slingers. Lemme start by saying they were the ABSOLUTE WORSE (hands down) chicken sandwiches I've EVER had! The amount of spicy sauce on them both was hidden under pickle... literally. Secondly, the chicken was so THIN it only had one side. It was fried hard as a brick and the bun was tragically hard. It was 10:00 in the morning for god's sake!!! There was no rush. The potato tots were ice cold; not even warm. I could've chilled my drink with them. I instantly remembered why I haven't been there in two years. I can walk there from where I live and I avoid them like the plague. Their ENTIRE menu is crappy at best. Do yourself a favor, if you go there DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT order the slingers. I guess getting your food HOT is a special order.

    Grilled cheese sandwich
    Jemz O.

When we arrived here today it seemed really nice. We have rarely had issues today. My sister is a vegetarian and basically can only order a grilled cheese sandwich today. Grilled cheese pictured was what we received. She tried to eat it but it was gross, soggy, and not even grilled all the way. When we asked for a replacement, the restaurants attitude changed. Evidently they "changed" how they make them. They simply pop the bread in a toaster and call THAT a grilled cheese sandwich. When I tried to explain it wasn't even toasted well, she got exasperated and asked if she wanted something else. No. I need a replacement that's made correctly. She said she would have them make it on the grill this time. Which we received the sandwich, with a snide here. As if I was inconveniencing the waitress by having them fix a sandwich. I mean. It's not really worth the 30$ we paid for the food. They have no healthy options either. At least McDonald's has something semi healthy to pick.

I had no idea it was a small place in a gas station until I came here to write this review. Re-learned the lesson not to judge a book by its cover! The double smashburgers, which were on a special/deal, were excellent. More food that one person could eat, in this case! My steak & cheese burger was also fantastic. Tender meat, generous portion, and great flavor. My partner had a crispy chicken sandwich she really enjoyed. Would definitely order any of these again! My kids split an Oreo milkshake they really enjoyed, of course it melted a bit in-transit but was still quite tasty. We also had some hot wings (which were EXCELLENT - tender meat, spicy but not insane), and some cheese fries (great, but probably got a bit soggy during delivery - in a perfect world, we'd have the cheese on the side so we can dump it on once they arrive). The onion rings were also a bit of a disappointment - they tasted like they came from a frozen bag, and they were a bit soggy. Maybe poke some holes in the container lid and cook them a bit extra crispy next time? But these are small qualms. Importantly, they got our order perfect. I would love to stop in and try their food in-person to see if it's even better when it's fresh off the grill/fryers.

But when Burger One opened near my office, I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed. The burger was overcooked and dry, and the fries were just mediocre. Honestly, I would have preferred a Quarter Pounder from McDonald's over what I had here.

The ingredients were fresh ... melted smoked Gouda, (shredded) lettuce, tomato and pickled peppers. Not a fan of shredded lettuce. I prefer a couple of leaves of chilled crisp lettuce. The tomato was a winter tomato and did not add any acidity. The bun was properly toasted a beautiful golden brown. The onion rings ... sigh. Tasty and not a grease farm ... and while fried perfectly, they arrived mostly a giant lump of stuck together. They were served hot and on a separate plate a few minutes after the burger arrived. I decided to splurge and try a peanut butter shake. Terrific ice cream ... no HFCS aftertaste. Great peanut butter flavor. Two disappointments: - Value. $8 for the size ... insufficient value. - I like my milkshakes to be blended a bit coarse; not blended textureless, soft-serve smooth. You've been warned. My wife ordered the bison burger, well done. It was served precisely as ordered. She was happy. The portion of sweet potato fries was large, properly fried and served hot. Ambiance ... disturbed by one VERY LOUD woman engaged in a running dialog with the bartender. They seemed to know each other. Otherwise; it is clean, organized and has a good neighborhood bar vibe. Will I return? Yes.

I don't come around often because the hours are odd (they are closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday), and the meat goes fast, so by the time I get off from work, a lot of the options are sold out. The last time I was there, I was lucky enough to get the last Brisket Meal, and the guy behind me was bummed out because he wanted it too. I've tried the Dirty Rice (rice with pork, brisket, kielbasa, and chicken), Mac & Cheese, and the Brisket. I highly recommend the Brisket and Mac & Cheese. The meal comes with a pound of brisket, coleslaw, and one side. The brisket is tender, juicy, and delicious, with enough meat in the meal for 2-3 people. They also sell baby back ribs, smoked chicken, and pork shoulder.

The coleslaw is of the shredded/vinegar variety. It is a wonderful accompaniment for the pork! The menu includes creamed corn casserole - a comfort food that Grandma served. It was good, but Grandma "seasoned" hers with bacon - lots of very crispy, thick-cut bacon. I almost order the Mac & Cheese, but the recipe is creamy and I am more of a baked/firm kind'a guy. The baked beans smelled wonderful ... next time! Will I return? YES! I will probably grab a carry-out container and enjoy my BBQ in the park. Closed: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday Go early.
