I came here on a whim after hearing about sonnets new chef. The place has recently reopened and has big plans and great ambitions. Theres a limited menu but the items are priceless. I had the award winning bourbon burger. A delicious and rich blend of flavors. Coming close to possibly the best burger in the wadsworth area. This is a promising spot. This place is a total fiasco and has been for a long time. Thought I would try and see if I could place an order for their BYO burger but it says they're sold out. Thought maybe thier smash burger would be a good second choi...nope....sold out. Lol...ok. Not sure this is the buisness this owner should be in. It's been in Wadsworth for probably 10 years (under construction forever) and only opened for about 11% of that time and now they're out of the few items they even offer. read more

Cool place! When I walked in, I expected to see just a coffee menu and some baked goods, but this establishment is so much more. I could have eaten lunch here. They have a nice menu and if I wouldn't have just finished lunch, I would have dined in. Cozy looking restaurant that's nicely decorated. The person that took my order made an excellent coffee beverage. I ordered an iced seasonal coffee drink. Tasted great! What can I say? This place is absolutely awesome. It has an interesting combination of vibes, too. I can't really pin it down. Has an LA Noire/speakeasy kind of feel paired with a Southern/Cajun food flavor. And all that speaks to me like home. There are a total of three menus covered front and back. Two of them dedicated to beer, wine, cocktails, and a huge list of whiskey to die for. I have to highlight their incredible Vieux Carre and Sazerac. They're in no way sparing of alcohol, holding true to a perfect blend no matter what day you come in. Their hugely varied food menu features staples like jambalaya, gumbo, and shrimp & grits (a perfectly acceptable take on a Carolina classic). There are also plenty of po-boy sandwiches and wraps, salads, a Thai curry and a local fave: walleye, prepped Cajun style. And yes, their desserts do include beignets. Prices are on the high side, but every bit worth it. They have a stage with sound setups and host and enjoyable open mic night every Wednesday with acoustic flare. In my opinion it's a shame they don't run it on weekends too. I've always been treated well by their awesome employees. There is a father-son pair I've always seen here. They are expanding the space soon into the space next door - the extra room will no doubt help with their growing popularity. read more

I've been coming here every other week or so for about 6 months now. I came at random on a work lunch break and have been coming back ever since. The head waitress is just wonderful. She makes you feel like part of the family! She's been predicting my drink order since my first visit too. The food is fabulous. I think today is the day I've now had everything on their regular menu. I haven't had a bad thing yet, and everything is made to order. The coffee is fresh, on demand if they need to make it that way, and they are happy to do so. The whiskey selection here is mind-blowing, albeit much too expensive for Wadsworth OH. That's probably my only demerit on the whole place. They carry everything from the very popular and hard to find, all the way to insanely rare. I need to stop coming at lunch so I can sample more of it! read more

Absolutely delicious! Such a cute spot in downtown Wadsworth. The atmosphere is casual and the service is beyond awesome. We ordered the shrimp po'boys with sweet potato fries and hush puppies. Our food was absolutely delicious. I would change anything with any of it. For dessert, we ordered the bread pudding. OMG! Literally scraped the bowl. We used to be frequent customers -- at least once/week. But the food quality declined and beer prices are the highest in the area. Expect staff to totally ignore issues such as food prepared not according to the order. (One employee, Stacy, was particularly bad about this.) Overall, just unpleasant experiences. Sonnets was a true gem for our stay in Wadsworth. The food, drinks, and service were so good we visited three times in two days for breakfast and dinner. Lindsay and Megan took great care of us every day, even taking the time to learn our names even though they knew were just visiting. They also went out of their way to move tables around in the restaurant to seat the six of us and make us feel welcome. While the food and drinks were superb, Megan and Lindsay truly made this experience as great as it was. The Creole/Cajun menu was excellent. Between the six of us, we had almost everything on the menu, including the jambalaya, blackened chicken, shrimp, grits, catch of the day (catfish), and hush puppies. We also had the chicken and French toast for breakfast. Everything was delicious and arrived promptly. You can't go wrong with anything on this menu. Drinks were also great. The extensive bourbon list elevated an already outstanding experience. Between everyone in our group, we ordered close to two dozen bourbons in flights and as solo drinks, all of which were available - a true accomplishment for a menu with over 100 whiskeys. In the morning, the coffee drinks were tasty. Well made, quick to arrive, and plenty of options to choose from. The only reason we didn't go back a fourth and fifth time was that they aren't open Sundays or Mondays. Sonnets made us feel right at home, and would honestly be a destination for us to plan a trip around if we were ever back in the area. read more

I love this place. You can bring your computer and work, you can bring a girlfriend and chat over a glass of wine, you can bring your kids and order large cookies, run in for a cup of coffee, listen to local music -- but of all the things YOU MUST do, order the grilled cheese. I got married back in 2013 and family was in from Maine. The needed a place to eat so I suggested they stop at Sonnets. They ordered the grilled cheese and STILL talk about it today. I wish I had time to visit Sonnets more, but it's always on my mind and I would recommend that anyone swing by and snag a chili, bagel chips and hummus, local IPA and the grilled cheese. Adorable little cafe in downtown Wadsworth! The staff here was super friendly! You order at the counter and then they deliver to your table. I got hot chocolate and my husband got a mocha- they were both delicious and beautiful in glass mugs where you could see the layering. For breakfast I got French toast and my husband got a breakfast sandwich- both were very good, and they didn't skip the presentation! This shop is one of many in the cute, but not so little, downtown Wadsworth area. There is a public parking lot nearby and free street parking right in front. The space is cozy, but there was plenty of seating whether you want to eat lunch, work with your laptop or later on into the evening enjoy a beer, dinner or listen to live music. The space is everything you would want in a neighborhood coffee shop....scratch that - gathering place. I enjoyed the "Other Macchiato" latte. For a snack I also grabbed off the counter one of the pre-bagged Super Granola Bars (gluten free) from Patt's Pastries. The prominent flavor were oatmeal and peanut butter but there was also honey, nut (almonds and pecans), seeds (pumpkin and sunflower), cinnamon and cranberries. The treat was dense, physically heavy, and I was pleased that it contained healthy ingredients. I would definitely spend time here if I lived closer. Sonnets Espresso Bar and Restaurant is a must stop for anyone passing through. We stopped in and had dinner where we split the cranberry salad and turkey pesto sandwich with bagel chips. We wish we had both gotten a full portion of each as they were that delicious and reasonably priced too. I requested balsamic vinaigrette for my portion of the salad and my friend got the raspberry, bit of which were amazing and I would be able to decide on which is better. The salad came complete with super fresh greens and a toasty garlic bread stick. As for the turkey pesto sandwich, it was killer. The sandwich was made with a whole grain bread with crisp greens, tomatoes, amazing pesto, and deliciously warmed turkey. I picked bagel chips for the side, which seemed to be made in house with extra bagels. This was cool because it had whole wheat, regular, and even blueberry; which was a great addition. The selection of teas is also very diverse and a nice addition for the ride home. Tip: look next to the register for "day old muffins" for $1. read more

If I lived in Wadsworth, I feel like Sonnets would become my local hangout. It has a great atmosphere with lots of space to sit and converse. The staff is great! On my first visit, I talked with the barista for quite a while. They also have some great coffee including special blends. I've had a S'mores blend, which sounds strange but was absolutely fantastic. Sonnets also serve some pretty fantastic salads as well. I would much rather visit Sonnets than a Starbucks any day! read more
