I've been craving a pulled chicken sandwich and this place did not disappoint. I came on a Tuesday for lunch and it was pretty dead inside. I sat at the bar and Darlene quickly came to help me. The food came out quick. The chicken sandwich was delicious and so were all the sauces. I want to try the garlic bread next time. The tots were fresh and crispy. Me and my partner arrived here around noon, it was my first time trying this place because there's not any in California. So for our drinks I wanted raspberry tea but the server said they're out, but this early in the day they're out!? And I did not get a good vibe with our server even my partner had address she has an attitude taking our order. But I ordered Candied bacon burger well done, my burger came out so burn and I can barely ate it. I told her about being burned and I'm glad she exchanged it. We had onion rings and okra on the side, and my partner ordered turkey powder something and it didn't come with a drink!? She charges us extra for the drink of coke and raspberry that never made. So I have to tell her about it. The experience wasn't great and our server did not have a good customer service. It was not just that day because theres less people in that time. We were here last Friday for lunch after arriving at Orlando International Airport. We have eaten at this location in the past and this visit was similar. Go food, fair prices, nice portions and arrived as ordered. It has a full bar with the full menu available to customers. Restrooms were tidy as was the restaurant. Always good we've been going there for 20 years. Sonny has been the best in Orlando for as long as I can remember dating back to 1992. They treat you nice. The food is good. You cannot go wrong with this bbq joint. I usually dont like white chicken but theirs is an exception. It was smoky and moist without being overpowering and I didn't feel like I was eating a over steroid chicken. My youngest fav was the brisket. Fast and okay BBQ. Came to this location on the way to the airport (OIA) as a way to avoid the airport tax on food. We were greeted promptly and server came immediately. Service was kind and helpful, restaurant was on the side of fairly unkept with sticky floors, misc. litter on the floor. Restrooms could also have used some attention. Food came out quick and was on the okay side. Turkey required their sauces which the bottles needed to be replaced as the lettering was about worn off. I choose the sweet which for the turkey was perfect. I had a side of three chicken wings and they were also okay. Overall this isn't the best or the worst barbecue in town, but if the restaurant could be better maintained, this would easily be a four star restaurant. read more

Food, needs a lot of improvement, I got the 4.meat combo, (baby back ribs, pulled pork, pulled brisket and smoked wings) coking with 2 side dishes and sliced garlic bread. 5 different bbq sauces are on the table I think they are the stars of the food. Went here for dinner today and had excellent service and great food. The cocktails were tasty, especially the spiked pink lemonade. The smoked wings, brisket, and baby back ribs were all moist and tender--just perfect. Garlic bread and coleslaw were also perfect. The green beans were soggy and too chopped up/mushy. The donut holes with sweet sauce and the banana pudding with fresh mushy bananas were both delicious. The place needs a renovation with the sticky varnished tables and older restrooms but overall a great experience. Would easily come back here again for more great food. read more

Quick service by a very helpful server, Jacob. Within minutes of entering, we were greeted by the host and taken to a table. Our server, Jacob came. H quickly and took our drink order. My companion ordered a two meet platter consisting of brisket and chicken with a side of fries and collard greens. Meals came out quickly. My sandwich was huge and very tasty. 'Ello Chaps, Sonny's BBQ is a chain BBQ restaurant, featuring an array of meats and sides. Brisket, pork, turkey, chicken, you name it, they got it. Gotta love the sides, especially the fried okra. I love coming to Sonny's and just having a good satisfying meal. One downside is the price of a two-meat plate is just a dollar or two more than the sandwich meal, so you're better off getting the larger plate meal, but then it's too much food. Shoutout to Larry for the great service too. Top notch, friendly and attentive and quick with those drink refills. My husband talked about going to Sonny's BBQ when he'd come to Orlando as a kid... so we had to stop at one while we were here. The decor has drastically changed since his childhood: gone is the red painted wood, old "country" feel. Now the decor is modern industrial with cool black accents, galvanized metal, natural raw wood and subway tiles. We came at a somewhat an odd time of 4pm on a Monday. The restaurant was fairly empty and we were both seated and served by a bartender named Abby. She was amazing/awesome/wonderful.
