I eat at Sonny's on a regular basis at the Palm Bay location. I consider them my second kitchen. I am always greeted with a smile and a hug. The food is most always good, and if it is not they replace it immediately. As frequently as I go I am going to hit a bad potato every once in a while. But they always make it right. I called Sonnys and the person said the baby back ribs were all you can eat for $15.99. I asked are you sure and please ask. The person came back to the phone and said YES they are $15.99. When I got there they tell me they are like $21.99. I showed the Manager my phone that I just called and fought the rain to get here. Finally they said it was a person in training that made the mistake. After going back and fourth on it the Manager agreed to give it to me for the $15.99. But it was not as good as I expected. Sonnys got back to me when I reached out to them by email as their reply asked me to do and they are offering a free meal to make this all up to me. When I went back the Baby Back Ribs were perfect. Went for lunch today the service by out waiter Nick was excellent very accommodating. The food was brought out quickly and everything tasted really really good. The place also seemed very clean as I've been in a couple and they are not. This place was clean, great service and most importantly tasty food. Good job Sonny's. Late lunch for 5. We started with a serving of corn nuggets dusted with powdered sugar as recommended by our server. I've never had the powdered sugar on them before. They were really good; could've been dessert. I had the pulled pork sandwich (Big Deal) on garlic toast with a side of mac/cheese. The pork was above average, as expected. The mac/cheese was a pleasant surprise, not bland, as you usually get as a restaurant side dish. Other items on the table included pulled chicken lunch plate and pulled turkey Big Deals. All were well received and devoured in place. I learned from my daughter that some customization is possible when she got onion straws on her sandwich. I'll have to remember that for next time. The food was good but the service was horrible, our server Bri is horrible server, she just dropped of the check and didn't even bother to ask us if we wanted a box or anything to wrap things up, messed up the order forgot my baked potato when I asked for instead she got me the beans, forgot my cousins Mac and cheese which was his side & my straw I would probrably come back but wouldn't want her as my server. Wanted to eat here for Mother's Day but was surprised at the poor service. For a busy restaurant day they seemed understaffed, or staffed with new people (one waitress didn't even know the hostess' name..). When we arrived we were told there was a 20 minute wait for a table of 6. There were lots of booths vacant, but was never offered to split up the group to sit side by side or put together some vacant tables. We waited a while and even contemplated on leaving, but the hostess kept telling us that they were just clearing the table. I'm staring at the table and no one touched it for 15 minutes. Finally the hostess goes over and starts to clean it up. We were then seated. Ordered an appetizer and after a long wait, it comes in.. burnt. Either it was fried in an old batch of oil or was just left in there a bit too long. We waited some more and the food finally came... my mom's shrimp was burnt (you may be thinking, why order shrimp at a Sonny's.. but hey.. she wanted shrimp). My dad ordered a well done burger (which in fact may have been the mistake) but it came in well-burnt. I didn't take a picture but my garlic bread was also burnt. I mean who's working back there? At that point we asked for the manager, between the wait times and the burnt food we felt we had to at least bring it up. Guy comes from around the bar, and just the way he talked didn't seem like he was the manager, he was more like.. the bartender. But hey, if you're viewing this Mike, I do apologize ;) He looks at the food and is like.. yup that's burnt, we'll bring you out some new ones... Hopefully there were no 'extra' toppings. Overall there was no incident, they gave us 10% off our meal and the server was at least courteous so we did give her a tip. On the way out, I asked for the hostess' name, and one server didn't even know who she was.. what? Anyway, after this experience, we won't be going to this location again. Went there for all you can eat fries on National French Fry Day. First of all, it's not free. You have to order the fries for $2.95. Then your only option is the crinkly fries. They have tater tots on the menu but it's not included in the all you can eat. I ordered the beef brisket on garlic bread. Not a whole lot of meat. About 3/4 of the bread had meat. Note to self, don't bother to go next year for the National French Fry Day. read more

The only BBQ restaurant I've ever been in where they ran out of ribs, pork and brisket. Salad bar was dismal. Ended up having a burger. Burger came with nothing, even fries were an extra charge. Took over twenty minutes to get food in an empty restaurant! Will not return. read more

Love this place. Used to go all the time when I lived in the area. Nothing beats there "Big Deal" I used to get the sliced beef and fried with the sweet heat sauce. I could go for some now if I didn't live 1400 miles away. I go every time I visit the area though. Much better than Woodys. read more

I have given them the benefit of the doubt and ordered again per the manager nicole that it would be better the next time I ordered. wrong it was worse. the cornbread wasn't cooked all of the way. I only got a half a container of brunswick stew that was less than 100 degrees hot. This place is a "bang for your buck" kinda place. The all you can't eat option is crazy for $12. Trust me, the BBQ is okay at best...but nothing to rave about. Famous Dave's is a chain that blows this place out of the water. read more

Stopped in just after 8pm and ordered the ayce beef brisket. The brisket was so charred and crispy that I could only eat about half after picking it apart. I then switched up to turkey; same thing. I switched again to sliced pork and finally had something decent, even though it was far from par for Sonny's sliced pork. If I wasn't a Sonny's fan it would have been enough to prevent me from ever going back, but I know Sonny's is usually better than this and does good 7 outta 10 times. Had a great experience here at this location of Sonny's. Our waitress was great and so nice. She took our order quickly, was polite and overall a great waitress. She refilled our drinks and also offered it to go. We had pulled pork, both of us- and it was amazing. I like that you can choose your sauce that fits your needs for the sandwich. Returned a second time to sonny's in Palm Bay after speaking with the manager for not receiving service for a go order. When I got home from the go window on the 1-19-19 I discovered my garlic bread was burned. I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

The food was amazing! I did happen to notice two servers playing cards up at the bar area which I found very odd that a manager would allow them to do this. One of which ended up being my server, Bobby, and another server with blue hair were playing instead of attending to their tables. Great food, ok service. Will be back. read more

Very great experience great service and food! I love coming here, deff a favorite. The smoked turkey sandwich is a must, ask for your fries extra crispy and they are to die for. The cups are nice a big so you don't have to worry about running out of your drink. read more

Sonny's can be really good BBQ at the right locations - all depends on the pit master. This location usually has great ribs and chicken. However they could greatly improve on their brisket. I love brisket and the brisket at this location has been too chewy and not flavorful enough and I tried giving them multiple chances on different visits (almost like it was premade and not truly fresh). I will return to this location for their ribs and chicken but do not recommend their brisket. Sweet tea is great and so is the mac n cheese, service always satisfactory. read more

Waited over and hour for a seat with yet again another large party. But I'm not sure if that is really Sonnys fault or on account of the person in charge of the seating they wanted. Our waiter was awesome! Im not usually impressed with male servers as most are slow and unattentive. But this guy rocked. He was on the ball. He noticed my husband's empty glass right away and quickly filled it. He was able to manage other large tables with no problem. My husband found the receipt his name is Proctor. Ask for him for large groups. He will definitely meet your needs. read more

We have gone to Sonny's Palm Bay for many years. Yesterday, my husband found a hair on his baby back ribs immediately when it was served. He very quickly made the waitress aware and she apologized and took it away. It took 10 minutes and she returned with a plate. My husband instantly knew it was the same ribs.He had put a tiny cut in between two of the ribs and sure enough same food.They offered to bring something else but he just said he did not want anything.They did remove the price of his dinner(of course being he didn't get to eat anything,who would want anything out of that kitchen after they obviously have no concern for health codes). We had to pay our bill for the rest of the food(we would have left after the "hair"plate was brought back but I have young kids and didn't want to upset them or back a scene. We had to ask the waitress the manager's name(Dina) because she never once came over. The deceitfulness of lying about changing the food is just as disgusting as the hair itself. read more

Ordinarily, This restaurant is our go-to place for take out. Tonight was a HUGE disappointment. It's like since it was take-out, the quality suffered because you can't send it back to the kitchen for a "do-over". I happened to stop here for dinner one night with my inlaws. The food was delicious, and the staff was great. I find that I am a really picky BBQ eater, I love BBQ, but have up until now only found one to my liking. The prices were a little more than I paid in Washington state, but I find that it is worth it, just for the fact that I know it is actually good. I ordered the pulled pork (Mmm) with a side of coleslaw and cornbread. The cornbread was the type that I remember from my favorite BBQ restaraunt back in WA, although Sonny's was a bit overcooked and drier....I still love it. July 3rd was my last time in and it was not a pleasant visit. My review was not good. I received a response and was told to contact the company office. I did not. I am not looking for a "Free Lunch". I just want to be treated like the employees care. Tonight (July 15, 2015) about 6:05 PM I decided to try Sonnys again. I was seated very quickly. Then another table was seated across from me. Their waitress got their drink order and menu selection almost right away. I waited, mine came over and proceed to take my request. I asked for unsweetened tea (she brought sweened tea with the sugar packets container), order of onion rings as the appetizer, with a steak burger and fries. As I waited the table across from me had their meal, and they were seated after me. As they were just finishing their meal I decided to leave (6:28). As I was leaving my server was bringing out the burger and fries (without the requested onion rings that were supposed to be the appetizer). I told her I was leaving. The reasons, I requested unsweetened tea, you gave me sweet tea. I had to wait longer than other customers that came in after me. Her response was, no I gave you the correct tea. She is going to argue with me? She said my burger took longer to cook, because I wanted it medium-well. I did not ask her where the onion rings were at this moment it did not matter. It appears Sonnys still needs to do some training with their younger inexperienced staff. I will not go in again for at least 6 months. I am retired and usually hit the different restaurants at least 4-5 times a week. I will miss Sonnys. read more

I'm about ready to give up on Sonny's at this location for carry-out. It seems more times than not my order is not correct. Case in point: last night my wife and each ordered the Char-grilled Chicken Sandwich, with a baked sweet potato "sidekick" instead of fries. The menu describes the sandwich as: Fire-grilled chicken breast on a toasted sandwich bun with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on the side. When we got home, we found that there was no "lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on the side." to be found, and it wasn't even a chicken breast but more like various sizez of strips and chunks of chicken white meat on the buns. And the meat was dry and chewy. It certainly was NOTHING like the picture you can see of this item if you go to the on-line menu. And there was no butter, regular of cinnamon, included as you might expect to get if dining in. I could have (and probably should have) driven the 20 minutes back to Sonny's and dumped the meals on the bar in front of the Manager and other customers. But we were hungry and ate it as it was not that bad that we had to feed it to our dogs. But I called up the Manager and strongly voiced my displeasure at what we received for our money. I blame the cook(s), the waite staff, and the Manager, in that order. The cook is the one responsible for making the order wrong, the waitress should have checked to see that the order was correct, and the Manager should conduct reqular "training" to ensure that his staff is "doing it right" . To his credit, the Manger listened to my rant, and agreed on my insistence for a future free meal as compensation. And I hope he reams the cook and waitress for the screw up. I guess from now on I'll have to dis-assemble any carry-out orders when received, right there in front of other customers, to see if they are correct. And if they aren't , the entire restaurant will hear about it, I guar-on-tee. read more
