Gabe was on the phone in his office, and after I browsed the floor and was headed out the door since no one seemed to help me, he ran out of his office apologizing that he was stuck on the phone and helped me (the other guy was still ignoring me, so weird). We purchased an Adirondack Patio Chair from Sonoma Backyard ten years ago, which came with a 20 Year Warranty, and recently had a part on it malfunction. Even after ten years from making our original purchase, the staff at Sonoma Backyard went out of their way to assist getting us a replacement part from the manufacturer, and due to the part being back ordered for several months, even providing a replacement chair to use until the replacement part arrived. The replacement part arrived sooner than estimated, and they rebuilt our chair back to "as new" condition. I purchased an outdoor kitchen from Sonoma Backyard several years ago and had some questions regarding maintenance/repair of the gas grill. I spoke with Keenan who was incredibly helpful. At first he took me to the manufacturer's website to find a video on what I wanted to do. When we were unable to locate what we were looking for he then took my personal info and sent me a video of him completing the task himself on a grill that they had in store. My old hot tub was leaking, and cost too much to repair. I just wanted to replace it without any hassle. I emailed Sonoma Backyard explaining what I was looking for. The next morning I received an email from Kyle giving me options of what was available. I chose one, it was delivered a few weeks later. The old tub was removed, the new one in place. I needed the tub to be turned so the plug would reach (I was not home when the tub was delivered). Kyle was kind enough to come by before work and place the tub exactly how I wanted. It was a great experience, reasonable price and very little effort on my part other than to chose which one I wanted. I prefer to work with local companies and Sonoma Backyard was a great choice. Fantastic products support after the sale! We have had our swim spa now for four years and absolutely love it! We use it to swim against the current with the harness attachment and the exercise equipment accessories are awesome with a lot of videos available on YouTube to refer to for a complete workout. We keep it at 87 degrees for swimming in the morning and then crank it up to 102 degrees for the evening or weekend hot tub! The retractable cover works great at maintains the temp too! A few weeks ago we ran into a problem where all of our interior lights failed and we called SBY to schedule a Technician to try and come out and solve the issue. It seemed like gloom and doom as there were minimal options if he could not get the lights to work. His care and devotion really paid off as he was able to bypass the problem area and re-configure the wire to make the lights work without having to purchase a complete lighting system which would've cost several thousand dollars and instead we were just charge for an hour and a half of labor! They are also great even for the smallest thing like a broken knob that they referred us to another competitor even to find because they were out of them. read more

I went to almost very hot tub store in the immediate area, as this is our first one and we had no idea what to expect price wise. These guys beat everyone else, hands down- despite claims from the other places that they were giving me a deal too good to pass up. My husband and I have been to Sonoma Backyard many times as looky-loos over the past few years to admire the beautiful spas and furniture that the store has to offer but we didn't think we would ever make the investment in a new spa. As we got serious about our hot tub desires we decided to try to purchase a "refurbished" spa elsewhere to save some money. Long story short after MONTHS of back and forth with the previous spa dealer we finally got our money back for the spa that was YEARS older then we were told with many broken features. We couldn't have been more excited to reach out to Sonoma Backyard about getting a new spa. Kyle was extremely helpful in immediately quoting us on six different models we were interested in via email. Being a hairdresser I don't have a lot of time to go in person for the process of choosing a spa and negotiating details. After a quick trip to nail down some options we placed the order for our Bullfrog A6 Spa. In today's world with little or no customer service, I can't say enough about how well Sonoma Backyard treats their customers. I purchased some outdoor furniture in early March and they they held it for me until mid-April, when I was ready for it. When I called them to schedule a delivery, they said the truck had not yet left that day, and after checking with the driver, I received a call back that it would be delivered that afternoon. The delivery people unpacked everything and set it up exactly where I wanted it. They noticed some chair cushions were missing, called the store, and two days later I received the cushions via mail. `I'm very pleased with Sonoma Backyard's customer service and will not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. read more

I just bought a hot tub from this store 3 months ago and just received it this month. They promised 4 week delivery, it took 8. They promised free delivery in the cost, here comes a $650 additional charge. I had to fight to get this charge off which was more than a few calls of my time. The salesperson Kyle has been anything but demeaning when I call for help or answers. The worst customer service I have ever received from any establishment. Not what I expect from a business I spend thousands of dollars with. They said they would supply starting chemicals. I received a half bottle of shock and a frog with no training for use. I can't get this tub clear with with only 3 weekends of use. I called Demeaning Kyle and he continues to talk over me and tell me to drain my tub and start over using chlorine as this is the chemical I'm familiar with. I have no support and worry about the next three years of warranty. I will keep you posted. read more

Gabe is awesome!!! Our overall experience with Sonoma Backyard so far has been great. When we first walked into the store, we were met with Gabe. My husband and I told him what we were looking for and he took us around educating us on the various hot tubs and features and recommending what he felt would work for us. We didn't buy that day and he stayed in touch (not annoying) to see if we had any questions or if there was anything we needed from him. When we were ready, the purchase process was fairly quick and delivery and everything we could expect was clearly communicated. When our hot tub was delivered, there were several scrapes in the shell (which we were told by the delivery service could be from being stacked on pallets by the manufacturer). I was very disappointed and contacted Gabe with photos. We discussed a discount and he asked if he could come out to try and buff out the blemishes (not to replace the discount, but so they wouldn't be as visible). He was at our house less than 24 hours from when I first reached out and spent almost an hour working on the tub. When he was finished, I couldn't even see a trace of the scratches and told him no discount necessary - I was so happy! But, for the hassle we experienced he offered store credit for chemicals/products. I highly recommend Gabe and Sonoma Backyard to someone who is looking for a company who stands behind their products and offers top notch customer service! read more

I tried to get a quote from Sonama Backyard on a pool install and Stephen Gibbs ghosted me like he's a teenage boy. He came out to the house and we had a good conversation about a potential pool install. He expressed some concern over access to the yard, which would likely be through a neighbor's property, but assured me he'd have his guy out to look at the access and would provide a quote the following week. A week later when i contacted him, he said his guy hadn't been able to get out, but would soon. Since then, nothing. I've left vm's for him on his cel and office phone and the main line at Sonoma Backyard. I've sent him emails. I've spoken to someone answering the main line who said they'd seen him in the office that morning and asked them to have him call me. if the job is too complex or your schedule is full, just let me know. close the loop. I wasted a lot of time waiting for you. I certainly won't buy any outdoor furniture from Sonoma Backyard to go around the pool after someone else builds it. read more

Looking at their web site I thought I hit the king of all outdoor furniture stores. What I soon found out after getting there is there is more yard furniture at your local Lowe's, Home Depot and Orchard Supply. They must have used one of those special fish eye lenses on the camera when they took the picture of the showroom. That was a waste of time. The help wasn't anywhere as good as the aforementioned stores either. I was told they could order anything I needed, but I can do that as well on line, with free shipping and not sales tax. We went with Sonoma Back Yard from a very strong recommendation from our dear friends in the area. We decided on a big tub since we have lots of friends. We have purchased a few items over the years. Always a great selection and quality items. Our umbrellas have really held up! Most recently we purchased a hot tub from them. Gabe was the salesman who helped me and he really went above and beyond! He is very knowledgeable and helped me pick just the right spa. I never felt upsold, in fact I ended up with a less expensive model. I needed some electrical work and special/challenging delivery location and he patiently guided me through my questions and phone calls. The sale was made weeks before I was ready for delivery, but Gabe stuck around for the process. He is quick to answer his cell phone- even on his day off! (Sorry!). In the end, after it was delivered and my electrician connected it, the pump and jets didn't work. It would have required a service call ($) to diagnose the problem, but Gabe offered to swing by on his way to work and look at it. He quickly determined the the power wasn't quite hooked up correctly. Another quick visit by my electrician and it worked! Gabe really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the purchase. Those guys have always had great customer service, and this was even more exceptional! Sonoma Backyard has very high quality outdoor furniture and an amazing staff who went above and beyond the call of duty for us! We purchased a discounted, showroom model beautiful outdoor kitchen that came with a propane BBQ grill. They overnighted us a conversion kit so we could hook it up to our natural gas. When the kit was delayed beyond the date for our celebratory BBQ, they came over and hooked up propane so that we could have our BBQ. Then, when the kit came, they delivered it and took the propane tank away. We also bought the bar stools (also the showroom models and seriously discounted) and a great umbrella from them which are fantastic. I have seen their sign from the 101 numerous times and heard them advertised on KSRO Fm and finally went it to see what hype was all about and I can happily say its hands down the Best Patio Furniture Store I have ever visited! What an incredible selection of high quality American made, CA & NY and Sustainable Bolivian made furniture, by Jensen which has a great company culture. This was explained to us by Aaron, who is very educated and passionate about the quality and construction of the variety of manufacturers in the show room. We were very pleased to know we can actually purchase a patio umbrella Not made in China! Of course they have hot tubs, fire pits and more! My sales rep only considered what i said i wanted and represented the options available to me without bias or manipulation. My experience with every member of their staff was efficient and pleasant. The folks who delivered my hot-tub were exemplary in their professionalism and attention to detail, and it was not an easy installation by any means. We bought a spa at the Sonoma County fair just a couple months ago. It was delivered perfectly. After a couple days we noticed a leek. Gabe was on top of it right away, he sent Thomas and Oliver over to our house in Napa to repair which they did in 15 minutes. Then we noticed a few jets didn't work, so out came Oliver again to check that issue. After replacing 8 jets that still didn't work he let Gabe know the status. The very next day Gabe starting working on a new replacement from the factory for us. These guys handled everything like pros. In about 3 weeks we had our new factory fresh spa that worked great the first time we turned it on. So I would not buy a Spa Hot tub ect. from anybody else! These guys stand behind what they sell and that's getting hard to fine these days. read more

We just bought a great propane-fueled fire pit table from this place. It was pricey, but I think we got a good product that will last a long time. When we were in the sales room, I felt we got great service, but that was where it stopped. We were told that the delivery date would be 4 weeks from when we purchased it, and a note on our receipt confirmed this. After 4 weeks passed, we called to see where the table was and they told us it was backordered and would arrive on July 5th. What good is it to get outdoor furniture the day after a holiday, and shouldn't you notify us when you learn something is backordered? On July 5th I received a phone call from someone telling me the "good news" that our fire pit had just left the manufacturer's warehouse. When I explained that I was expecting it to be in my yard already that day, he told me that he had a note on the order form (from 5 weeks prior at this point) that it had always been scheduled to leave the manufacturer on July 5th. What? Why would you lie to me twice about the shipping date? Or if it wasn't a lie, learn how to communicate with each other so that you stop making your customers angry! read more
