Like many other posting here we also did a ton of research on our hot tub. We visited 4 dealers in the Sonoma County area but still wasn't exactly sure what we wanted. On a whim we visited Gabe at Sonoma Backyard minutes before closing one evening. We immediately felt comfortable and Gabe answered all of our newbie questions. Leading up to the delivery Gabe stayed in touch updating us on status and timing. Sonoma Backyard even coordinated directly with the electrician we chose making the process even easier. Initially we were in the market for a hot-tub for the deck that we were having built. We went to a number of places and ended up at Sonoma Backyard where we were pleased with the options, the prices, and Gabe Givan's obvious expertise. (The fact that he and I share the same first name was not a factor!). We bought the hot-tub for later delivery and then found ourselves going back time and time again for major items like an outdoor kitchen, a fire-pit, outdoor chairs, and minor ones like plastic wineglasses. We always appreciated Gabe's friendliness, and more so, his knowledge of the inventory. Installation of our purchases on our still "under construction" deck was somewhat complex but it was well handled with predicted dates and times always met. I love Sonoma Backyard! We purchased a two person hot tub from them on a Sonoma County Fair special. We were treated so professionally at the fair while we were making our choice, no pressure, just great information as we needed it. They set it up and really educated us on it. We have been enjoying in for a full year. I run a vacation rental and one of our guests broke the cover lifter arm (we have very strong guests)! I had back to back guests checking out and in on a Saturday. I called Gabe at Sonoma Backyard and he made sure I had someone out within the hour to fix it for me so my new guests were not inconvenienced at all. He told me that usually they do not have folks to handle this on the weekend, but said that he would see if his delivery folks could come out, and they did! Wow! Purchased my swim spa last month. After extensive research before contacting them, I found Thomas and Aaron to be very knowledgeable and professional to work with. He also came out to my house and got it up and running...which was no small job as the electrician had a problem with the electrical and Gabe was able to diagnose it on site and get the electrician to have it up and running that same day. read more

We were looking for some quality outdoor furniture and a fire pit. When I first walked in, I almost turned around and walked out, most of what I saw was hot tubs. then we saw there was another showroom through a doorway with all the items we were interested in.. We dealt with Gabe, who was very knowledgeable and no high pressure. He explained everything and answered all our questions. He moved things around so we could get exactly what we wanted. We didn't order that day, and I checked the prices. They were very great, even compared to the internet. I didn't want to order something like this on the internet anyway. Called to have repairs made to my hot tube. Gabe the repair man showed up as scheduled. He was patient with my questions and provided thorough answers. Once the problem was diagnosed, he scheduled another appointment to replace the in-op part. I have been waiitng 3 months for parts to be replaced on my spa that is only 1 year old.. They ordered the wrong part the first time. I am the one who does all the follow up. The last I spoke to someone was 2 weeks ago when I called to inquire about the parts. That person was to check and get back to me. I have not heard anything since. I had absolutely no intention whatsoever to buy a SPA the day I went into Sonoma Backyard. I live in Novato and drove up on a whim with my wife just to get some decorating ideas for our landscaping project. After browsing their beautiful showroom my wife and I were literally heading out the door when Gabe stopped us to inquire if we had any questions. Well, about an hour later I was the owner of a new Bullfrog Spa. When you mix a great product with great customer service it became an easy purchase for me. Without a doubt, I felt like Gabe was sincere and extremely knowledgeable. I like the fact that he had been there for over 10yrs and started off servicing and repairing spas. I could tell that he knew his stuff! I wanted a premium SPA at a price that was right for me and I wanted to buy it from a place that I knew would service and take care of me if or when I have any problems. When we decided to do a total upgrade of our San Francisco roof deck furniture, grill, fire pit, , etc., I assumed it was going to be a relatively straightforward process. I would go down the peninsula or up to Marin since there didn't appear to be much in the way of options in the City. But after hitting a dozen places, I was incredibly frustrated. All I found were poor selections, bad staff, and lousy prices. Then I saw the reviews on Yelp for Sonoma Backyard and said: what the heck. Plus it would be nice to see the sun. Wow, what a great experience! From the minute we entered, Gabe was fantastic in answering questions, suggesting, and handling the purchase. And it didn't hurt that they had great stock of really nice, high quality everything at basically online prices (I mean who does that in the patio business?!). In the end we bought everything from them: new sofa and chairs, grill, fire pit, and large umbrella (I know, I know, its the City ... but once or twice a year its nice to have it :-) .
