We been coming annually for a few years and Bodega Links has always been accommodating. The "Guy" running the show is kind of LEGENDARY. He somehow manages to gather 20+ semi intoxicated dudes to post up for a photo ops prior to sending us on the course. - Course is super fun, even for a "not-at-all Super Pro" like myself who golf approximately1.7 times a year. LOL. - this place rivals some of the best courses i tee off at. Highly recommended teeing off at the Links whenever you get a chance. Welcoming staff. Course is in pretty good condition. The bunkers are a tad inconsistent and need some TLC -- some fluffy, some clay-like one inch deep. The greens are true but can be difficult to read (both speed and break, but that may be a personal problem, too. LOL) Holes #16 and #17 are very unique, but add to the charm, IMO. (It's not for everyone though.) Carts have GPS. There is no true driving range here -- only a netted cage. Plenty of convenient food and beverage options at the course -- both sit-down and to-go. Adequate parking. This track and the amenities make this an awesome golf destination with all of the lodging and dining options in the Bodega area. read more

But having long-time friends who own a vacation home on this amazing golf course, I can definitely say the Links at Bodega Harbour has the most spectacular ocean views that rival the golf courses in Hawaii. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, "in a true challenging Scottish style links course"...is how the fairway is described by the Links at Bodega Harbour website. What is not mentioned is the various types of weather you may encounter! But the locals and return visitors know and come prepared for howling, cold wind, dense fog or beautiful sunny skies depending upon the time of year and time of day. Weather delays? Not here. We stopped in for ice tea and clam chowder. Nope. They were out of both; 1:30pm on a Sunday. Waitress was frazzled, most of the other staff just standing around. Seems like very poor management. We left thirsty and hungry, but found another restaurant nearby. read more

The only links / seaside golf course in Sonoma county that's enjoyable. (Sea Ranch is a cow pasture not worthy of your time nor money). I thoroughly enjoyed my game today. The course is a mixture of three themes. Those being: 1. Challenging up and down topography. Severe changes in elevation and slopes. Sometimes I almost feared tipping the cart over on the sideways inclines. 2. Back holes 10 - 15 are wide open. Almost boring, not really challenging for a golfer with less than a 10 handicap. 3. Holes 16 & 17 are the weirdest two holes I have ever played. You abandon the cart. Get a push cart. Walk across a 150 yard wooden walkway in the middle of a brackish marsh that has 15 foot tall reeds. Hit the ball of those reeds to the holes. When done with these holes you trek back to your motorized cart and proceed to #18. I was told that this course is a delight when the weather is warm, sunny, mild and calm. And that it is pure golfer hell when the wind is howling. My experience today was grim grey skies and 10 mph winds. I played well enough. I plan to return soon. Too much fun. read more

Fantastic Day at The Links at Bodega Harbour Absolutely loved this course -- picturesque in every way. The staff in the pro shop were welcoming and helpful, and the food and drinks at the turn were served quickly and hit the spot. We played on a Saturday and the pace of play was excellent -- finished ahead of schedule. The course marshal did a great job keeping us updated on groups ahead, which helped things flow smoothly. Fairways and greens were in great condition, and we did our part fixing our many ball marks (a good problem to have!). OMG. We had tee time this past Wednesday at 9am. We drove up from the City. I don't know about Bodega Bay but in San Francisco we've got our best weather in September October timeframe. As we drove closer and closer to Bodega Bay it became apparent the weather wasn't going to resemble San Francisco's. It was blanketed in dense fog. Like zero visibility. I went into the pro shop. I asked if there was a weather delay. Nope. He said to imagine I was in Scotland. Our tee time was at 9am. We were there at 8:30am. So the four of us teed off at 9am. We didn't have a clue to the course layout. We were following this twosome, one who was a newbie. After awhile they allowed us to play through them. The starter gave us a heads up about hole 5. So we knew it was like a Z. That really helped. It wasn't until we were on the back nine that the fog finally lifted. Then we got to see the harbor and the ocean. Holes 16 & 17 you either carry your clubs or use one of the push carts they provide. Both holes are built over marsh land. Don't even try looking for your ball if it goes into the marsh. The course was in great shape. All in all we had a good time. read more

Our tee time was set at 10 am. The weather was very cold, not surprisingly, to a previous native from Monterey County golf courses. During the summertime, it is always cloudy and overcast until early afternoon. In Bodega Bay, it's clear and cloudy throughout the day. This golf course has spectacular views matching those in Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach to a certain degree. The pace was pretty good, giving we were before the late morning and early afternoon rush at 11 am. The staff are great and the shop pro gives great advice and is very friendly. I tend to stay humble and converse with an open ear to those who have more experience than I do. Anyway, again, great views and overall a great golf course. By the way, it is a pretty challenging course even for those who play often there. read more

My experience golfing there was fun. I especially liked there takeout foodie window at the turn. Cool staff was very busy and everyone was very patient. Food was amazing and prices were so reasonable. They do offer a military discount and a teachers golf fee discount which was nice since I am an athletic teacher. I can't say enough good things about this establishment!! I took my mom on a mother/daughter trip for the weekend. We were staying at one of the rental houses only a block away from the Links. Neither of us had ever golfed before so I decided to book a lesson for us. Our instructor was so awesome and so kind!!! We truly had the best experience!!! My fiancé likes to golf but I usually just sit in the golf cart and watch him play, now I feel confident enough to join him!! I will most definitely be going back soon!!! Without question the most beautiful course in Sonoma County. Best advice is book an as early as possible tee time. It tends to get really windy later in the day. This is a very fair course and will challenge every aspect of your game. Walking 18 is not for the faint of heart. The pro shop has a great selection of needs, local canned beers in a refrigerator, friendly staff and a substantial residential discount for green fees. Order food from your cart or mobile app and pick it up at the turn. I don't normally eat when I'm playing but can say it all looks great. Things that would improve the experience is more water stations on the course; I'm part camel and consume copious amounts of water. The warmup facilities are straight forward and meant to give you the chance to groove a swing in a batting cage like unit. You may not get to see majestic range swings but you can feel if you're striking the ball properly which is enough for me at least. Parking is convenient and albeit small sections there has always been a spot on the most full days. read more

Stunning course! As a intermediate player, I felt quite defeated in the front 9 since there was a lot of elevation changes, houses everywhere, and the putts breaking towards the ocean I needed to adapt to. I didn't expect this course to be easy so I wasn't expecting to do well, but man it was rough adjusting to those fast, unpredictable putts. My bf however did amazing and got lots of birdies and pars so I guess it just depends on your handicap. There are seriously houses everywhere with absolutely no protection at all. If you hit a hard slice, you will be in trouble. Luckily we didn't run into huge issues with the houses but it was absolutely terrifying! I was able to lose only a few balls and still have fun. The course is in amazing shape and grass was super playable despite it raining the day before. Probably the best price and conditioned golf course I've ever been to. Too bad I live in the East Bay. I will be back tho! Give this place a try. It may be intimidating but just go in for the experience, not to win or do well. read more

I played two rounds here on blustery, sunny October mid mornings. Between the unique challenges on every hole, the spectacular views and the perfectly groomed course, this is one of my all time favorite tracks. I've played hundreds of courses all over the country. The staff is laid back, fun and easy to deal with. They accommodated my request to play alone because of my immunity issues. They warned me that it was slow play because of the number of foursomes out there, so as a single I might do a lot of waiting. First round was four hours and ten minutes and second was four and a half and I was a happy customer. I'm retired so I only play golf during the week. On the weekend I leave the play to the unfortunate working guys. I plan to come back here as many times as I can. Remember the weather can be very interesting here by the ocean so plan accordingly and expect it to play a large part in your day of golf. There is no driving range per se, but a large netted warmup area hitting off mats. Property here around the course sells for 700K for a lot so a range would be cost prohibitive. read more

Holy houses Batman, this course is not forgiving for beginner's. I shoot around 100 on average and as other reviewers have noted some holes have tiny fairways with houses lining both sides and thousands of windows you can hit into with a miss hit on your round. Its quite nervewracking to hit a slice and see the ball arching towards a house and hoping you don't hear the sound of breaking glass. That being said, if you can keep the ball in the fairway this course is absolutely stellar. Stunning views and very well maintained; I throughly enjoyed playing here. I'll get some lessons to get better before risking a thousand dollar repair bill and hopefully next time I'll be paying more attention to the views than the homes. read more

Interesting track and designed well to its strengths. Uphill holes are mostly with the wind and downhill holes are against. 1st hole, use 3W or driving iron as there are so many glass windows lined to the hole. 5th hole is stupid. Don't bother aiming for 180y direction stick. Aim over the mounds to your right off tee box site line. Hole 16, aim furthest to the right of FW. Bring your putter, bag or correct clubs for the next hole too (17th). Hole 18, use a club that goes stops at 210y. Anything further is in the hazard. Pro: creative layout, clean bathrooms, friendly pro shop, hitting stalls, separate putting and chipping greens. Con: gas carts, long drive, wind. read more

This is a singular golf experience. The views and vistas are like Hawaii. Granted we were blessed today with sunny weather and not too much wind! I have been told that the weather can be very unpleasant here, so check your forecast. The course is intimidating for the first time player. The front 9 is like a ski mountain! Honestly you could ski these slopes and the moguls, wow, look out. Back 9 is a little flatter and wide open but also has some fun surprises. I do NOT recommended this course for beginning golfers. Staff very friendly, food and drink in the adjoining restaurant very good. My only complaint is the 2-stroke gas powered carts. We are on the ocean here folks! Give us the fresh air. I still have that acrid 2-stroke exhaust smell in my nose and it's been six hours. Yuck! Management, please take note! thank you... read more

One of the best golf course I've played in the bay area. Especially twilight is $45 with cart on a friday afternoon! The condition of the course is one of the best I played. The course is very well maintained, the grass is mow all the time, the bunker has sand in it! and it's raked. The course is windy on the afternoon we played, most likely due to it's location. In the morning it's usually foggy. Through out the day there aren't many groups of players so it's very relaxing to play here. Every hole has an ocean view! How many courses offer that? Not even pebble beach! 16th and 17th hole is the most interesting one, 16th is drive-able if you have a good tee shot. You need to carry your clubs to the fairway and green, push cart provided. 17th is a short par 3, after 17th, you will walk back to your cart. This course has lots of undulation and elevation changes, prepare to bring your A game! read more

I've had a $50 gift certificate for the LINKS AT BODEGA HARBOUR for over a year now, and my wife and I finally made it up that way to put it to good use. The pamphlets are no lie, all 18 holes have a view of the bay. So as far as views go - Bodega Bay doesn't disappoint. What was disappointing, was that mother nature screwed me that morning, providing THICK fog that made my views a little less scenic. The first six holes or so, I literally could see nothing. I teed off at 6:50am as a single player, with no experience on the course. So I didn't know any of the tricks of the trade. I just looked at the yardage book, and swung nice and easy - hoping to just hit it down the middle and kept my fingers crossed that it wouldn't land in a bunker. But as I started to make my way down the hill, my visibility started to clear up and I could actually see my targets! The course was way more challenging than the scorecard says. I played the blue tees and it is a 69.1 CR and a 122 SL. That is comparable to muni course ratings, and LBH is much better and tougher than that. The threat of hitting the huge windows of the homes lining each fairway is a challenge all on its own. Plus the fog and the wind? Come on USGA... If this course was closer to home, I'd play there all the time. Holes 16, 17 and 18 were absolutely awesome! You have to ditch your golf cart and pack it on 16 and 17 as you will cross the tall reed marshes while having to walk over a wooden bridge to the next "cut out" of the fairways. 18 finishes with the beach right behind the 18th green. 4.25 stars read more

The customer service here is sub par to say the least. I have only twice been to a course that forced us to play with another party, and even still during covid. This and how they stack people on the weekends will have me never returning. The course overall, meh, and the shitty people you have to deal with are not worth it. read more

very pretty, challenging golf course for a newbie. Apparently it is often foggy here, but we came on an amazing day. I've never lost so many balls before though, and there were no water hazards! (too dry in the season by now; I'm sure some of those grass/marsh areas would be very wet in the winter.) Also, the houses all around the golf course can be disconcerting for someone as green as me. I had at least 3 balls end up bouncing off someone's paneling or into a yard - oops. -_-; Still, better than smashing any windows! Keep in mind that the hot dog stand closes up around 3, although the guy was nice enough to keep it open after we phoned in our order, despite taking way longer than normal to finish the 9th hole. Oh yeah, all the regulars around here are seem super friendly and laid back. They were all cool with waiting for us to play as we lagged behind, or even skipping holes if they were occupied by a bunch of poorly playing younger peeps (ahem). The primary point is to have fun, as they reminded us! :) read more

I really enjoyed my round today at Bodega Bay. The weather was beautiful and the wind didn't totally rule the round. At first glance there is some construction going on at the club house, parking lot and the course itself. It was a bit confusing finding the clubhouse and the starting tee, but it worked out. The starter was very skeptical about singles going out, so I had to wait to play with a couple of dudes who showed up shortly. In other words, not a single - friendly course. Anyway we marched on and the course presented itself. I had deja vu all day, as if i were at Half Moon Bay. Very similar... but the overall conditions weren't as nice. Most holes had open fairways that were easty to find, if you could dodge the fairway bunkers. The most interesting part of the course revealed itself through approach shots. Many greens are nestled amongst moguls, hills and multiple bunkers so the angle of approach is very important. The greens are fast and everything breaks towards the ocean... despite what it might look like! A few of the holes had blind tee shots. I believe it was the monster #5 that you just hit over a hill into where the ocean meets the sky. Did I mention the views are amazing?! The cartpath/road winds down the hill (you can't see) and actually cuts in front of the green. Keep it right or you're OB. There are a handful of mundane par 3's and 4's, but the memorable holes will peak your interest. The last 3 holes form an interesting final trinity. 16 has you hitting 150 - 200 yards over a marsh to the fairway. The fairway is almost perpendicular to the tee box across the marsh. So it is really tempting to wanna push your drive left... towards the hole. The problem is this is a narrow strip of fairway and guessing the yardage is dicey. There is also the option to use the teebox in the fairway, and call it a par 3. The short par 3 17th uses the same marsh almost surrounding the raised green. anything off the green to the left will splash into the ick. The 18th is a remarkable par 4 that has 2 parts. The fairway ends 200 - 250 out and there is a 30 - 40 ft drop to the green below. A drive too long will be in the woods in between. A neat finishing hole. Beautiful course and friendly staff. There is no range... only a net to hit into. This course is beautiful! I love coastal spots and this course has all the great views and looks that you'd want in a course. It was a bit nerve racking with all the houses sometimes lining the fairways but the praying I did to the Golf Gods allowed me to pass through with no broken windows. If you can hit straight it's all good! Lots of elevation change and takes a bit of planning with shots but really great place to play! read more

The front and back nines, are night and day. The front is quite interesting, with undulating fairways and challenging approaches. After making the turn, you wonder what happened. The course becomes quite unimaginative and straightforward. Mundane, even. 16 and 17 take you down by the beach, but any kind of view is blocked out by the 15 foot berm between you and the ocean. My biggest peeve, however, is the fact that the beer cart and the refueling stand at the turn seem to have a curfew of about 4pm (on the weekend!). So, if you grab a twilight tee time (after 2pm), be sure to stock up on snacks and lubrication. read more

This place rocks as a challenging, beautiful golf course literally on the beach. I'm still removing beach sand from my shoes for over shooting the fairway on number 16. For $60, this place has got to be the best value for any beach golf course anywhere. No easy holes and tough greens but this is what we liked the most for this course. Take your golf bag off the cart and hand cart them for hole 16 and 17. The walk returns you back to your cart for 18. Look for large deer and some wild cats which I think are bobcats. We didn't lose as many balls as others reported. read more

It was my first time playing here, and boy did I not know what I had gotten myself into. It was hard. Not quite grab your ankles hard, but close. I was a beaten man after 17 holes, and 18 was the coup de grace. There is no driving range, but a few mats where you can hit into a net. Not ideal, but understandable given their location. The course was in great condition. It was nicely maintained, the fairways were well manicured, tee boxes level, and the greens rolled true. The layout, however, is like a links course on steroids. There is a lot of elevation change, especially on 4 and 5. Your tee shot on 5 is pretty much blind, and the fairway zigzags for what seems like 350 yds. Good thing they include a map of the holes with yardages from all the tee boxes with your scorecard. I could've probably done better just closing my eyes and hitting. From the blues, the par 3's seemed all 170+ yds, and the wind can add 2-3 clubs if in your face. 16 and 17 are walking only, meaning you tee off at 16, grab your clubs and walk across a marsh, finish the hole, tee off 17, then get back in your cart for 18. 18 is an awesome hole, first going uphill across a valley, then straight downhill across a ravine. Like others have said, a morning tee time would probably be better (I'd rather deal with the fog than the wind), or bring some hot toddys with you for an afternoon round. Also, bring more than a few balls with you, as good shots can roll right through the fairway into the tall grass. I'd definitely golf here again, but probably from the whites instead of the blues. read more

Played here recently through a purchase on Golf Moose. Two of us played for $80 total ($40 each) with a cart. For what we got, you can't beat that price. It helped that it was an absolute perfect day weather wise, but this place is pretty incredible. You get views of the pacific on just about every hole that make you want to pinch yourself. Couple the views with a fun, challenging, and well manicured golf course, and you have a great day of golf. My group had a drink at the restaurant bar afterwards taking in more of the views, a great beer list, and an appetizer. I'd highly recommend this facility to experienced and novice golfers alike. read more

This course is extremely beautiful, extremely well managed. But it is psychotic and overdesigned. Actually, it is not a golf course ...it's a golf amusement park. Just too much of a good thing. Case in point: there is a bizarre double-dog-leg par 5 on the front that demands you hit a tee shot of 160 yards max, then the fairway drops off a cliff and cuts right. From your 160 point, you have essentially one option to hit a long iron down to the second dog leg, and if you miss by much your approach will be blind...if you can find your ball. I played yesterday in significant winds -- the Bodega weather station said SSW 16 mph but it appeared to much more. I have never seen the golf ball be so affected in flight...it became comical several times. Regardless of wind, there are so many mickey mouse situations I encountered that the course just made me mad. I'm a single digit handicap and can hit targets, but this was insane. Just like Peacock Gap and other courses that start out a little too "design happy," Bodega needs a redesign to make this course more fair for players. Nobody I know in the Bay Area likes to play this course often, and that should say something. read more
