Wow what a great spot. First off the vibes - the DJ played on January 4th should apply for some jobs in Miami, FL where I live. He was awesome and would do very well there. The service is spotty to say the least. We arrived and ordered drinks (water and one piña colada) and an appetizer. Two tables arrived after us and they received their drinks and entrees before us. When we arrived there was a band playing in the outdoor dining area that appeared to be public right of way. People walk through the area to avoid the street so I assume it is public. The musicians asked if we would like to pay for them to perform a song. We did. While they were singing, the manager came and told them they already knew they can't play here. He then proceeded to turn on music and blast it at full volume. It was very uncomfortable for us. We are tourists and don't know what's allowed or isn't and they were playing when we were sat for dinner so we didn't think there would be an issue. It's also fairly common for musicians to peddle their music in tourists destinations. The least the manager could have done is tell us live music isn't allowed, let them finish the song and ask them to leave. He didn't even address us. First the music was a thumping base, which is fine in it's place, but not in this setting Second the tried to pass off a Costco steak as a center cut rib eye. It was tough and tasteless. This restaurant is a fairly new place located at the new part of the La Isla shopping center at about km 12.5 in the hotel zone in Cancun. The restaurant itself is beautiful with decent views of the lagoon side of Cancun. Our experience, however, started on a sour note and went downhill from there. We went there based on a recommendation from the concierge at our resort. We went for an early dinner and did not make reservations (significance will be made clear). When we got there, the place was almost empty, so getting seated was no problem. My wife asked if, as guests of the resort we are staying in, was there a discount (many places in the hotel zone do that)? We were told that only if the concierge had made the reservation. My wife asked if we could still get it as we didn't know of that policy (which actually makes no sense, but it is what it is). This is where it started to go downhill, the hostess was bordering on rude in her response. We didn't push it or say anything more about it. Next came trying to get the drinks we wanted. The waiter barely spoke or understood English. Now, this is in an area with an international clientele where the language most have in common is English. We tried between our high school Spanish and the waiter's limited English to place an order but he kept bringing drinks significantly more expensive than we wanted or cared for. Eventually, another waiter intervened and got it straight. We also told them of food allergies, but they kept recommending items that we could not eat. If we had not questioned them, we could have been in trouble. Eventually, we ordered our meal and the dishes turned out to be very tasty. However, while we were eating the couple at the table next to us started smoking. This surprised us, as all over the place there are signs that smoking is not permitted. We even asked the waiter about it and were told that, yes, smoking is allowed. As my wife is extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke we asked for the meal to be packed up and we left. I checked on line to see what the law in Cancun is and saw that indoor smoking in restaurants is not allowed. So while the food may be okay, the whole rest of the dining experience sucked. read more

I've been here twice, enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant, however, the music is too loud. Service was good for the most part, but the server was so annoying about the tip. He kept trying to scam us, he was trying to sneak the tip on the card, even though we said we wanted to tip in cash. AMAZING! This place was out of this world! As soon as we got there we were greeted with handsome men in tux. we then were sat down and my fiancée got an English menus and I got a Spanish one. They brought out the types of meats they serve and explained all of the types thoroughly. They had 2 for one on drinks and I got a raspberry mojito and a cucumber mojito! Both were amazing. Michael was our server and he went above and beyond! The other place I've paid so much for food was Carne Vino in Las Vegas and this place matched their service and meat taste! One of our better experiences on our recent trip to Mexico. We were a table of 11 and all were extremely impressed. The mixology cart was definitely a highlight. Steak was good , BUT there was was a prostitute giving a lap dance to a old man during my dinner with my kids , umm no I don't think that's ok in any way , ALL of the workers were in on it , they say she comes every day with other girls to promote the restaurant for money . Also charged me for $250 pesos for a shot of premier alcohol in my drink that I didn't ask for , so my drink came out to $500 pesos. We brought up the fact there was a prostitute and it was super inappropriate , all the workers laughed. Never will return or tell my friends and family to come here .
