The salad was good. This is a Kosher restaurant which appealed to us. However, they present the steaks as "Prime Beef." We are from the great state of Texas and know our beef. We had a truly phenomenal experience at the grill. I am normally rather skeptical of restaurants in hotels because I usually don't have the best experience but the grill exceeded all expectations. The service was incredible and the sunset views from the restaurant are really to die for. To start we were given an incredible amuse bouche, which was a pumpkin soup that was incredibly tasty and left us extremely excited for the meal (which literally means it did its job!). We were also brought a nut bread, which was great, not too heavy but fresh and yummy with just a little butter. For our appetizer we went with the mussels and the coconut sauce that they were cooked in was heavenly and fresh. I had the salmon as my main dish and my friend went with the lobster burger. I also ordered a side of the mashed potatoes and grilled veggies because the salmon does not come with much. Both of these sides were great with my salmon. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the veggies were grilled perfectly. The assortment of veggies was carrots, zucchini, and asparagus. My friend LOVED the burger. In her words it was juicy and you could taste the flavor of every item on the burger. I tried a bite and definitely agree! The fries also come with a sriracha ketchup, which has a nice kick! We were soooooo full after all the food but we had to get dessert because we always do. We went with the chocolate mousse, which was very rich but nice with the vanilla ice cream. Overall we had a fantastic experience and I would for sure recommend the grill if you are staying at the grand Hyatt or just in the area! Also fun fact if you are staying at the hotel in Thursday's is lady night and they give you 50% off the bill! It really doesn't get better than that! (Not sure if this is all year long but it was the case in July during my stay) read more

Well to start this place was fantastic not only for the service but the food as well our servers who were Yairo, Carlos ,Luis and Jorge were outstanding we couldn't stop talking about how great their service was we ordered the fillet as well as the New York steak , we had the sweet potato as well as the mac & cheese and mashed potatoes which were excellent. For starters we had the bread with the veggies which was also fantastic never had a dish like this ! As well as the amazing hummus with crisp pita ! Thank you guys so much for the excellent service I will for sure be coming back :) they also do a very nice romantic dinner if you are feelings a bit more fancy ! We went on a dinner date here. You can dress casual here, but we felt a little under dressed. We weren't planning on going anywhere fancy during our trip so we weren't prepared. So just fyi. We ordered the Mixed Grill for 2 which had a variety of seafood with a side of asparagus and sweet potato. The sweet potato was so good! For dessert we went overboard and ordered the Crumble (roasted peach and plum, almond crackers, papantla vanilla ice cream) and the Coco (tropical fruit compote, passion fruit sherbert, coconut foam). We were so full! We should have just shared a dang dessert but noooo.....we wanted to be fatties. This had to be one of the nicest places I've ever eaten at and one of the best tasting. The food was amazing and worth every penny. The server Jefferson was wonderful as well. Totally recommend this spot. read more

Located right by the Grand hyatt- if you're staying at the hotel then no reservations needed! It's right by the infinity pools- best service ever!!! I asked for water and they brought out a tray of fresh cut fruit asking me if I wanted any of it in my water- Crazy! I got the bone marrow- should have shared because it came with 3 huge bone marrows but #noragrets...not even one letter. SO GOOD and excellent presentation. I recommend the waygu beef - prob better to share with someone! I can't say enough how much I loved the service here and the presentation of food. I would def come back! Lovely experience and I don't think you can go over ordering anything from the menu. FYI comes with bread basket so don't fill up too quickly and over order apps like I did. read more

Ladies eats 50% off on Thursday's! Which we didn't know until we got there but it was a plus! I ordered the bone marrow and my husband ordered the ribeye! The ribeye was cooked to perfection and none marrow was out of this world good. First time at Playa I ate a steak that was cooked medium rare when we asked for medium rare. The ambiance is good but I was getting bit by mosquitoes left and right...which made me feel very uncomfortable and we had to keep our dinner short but the service and food was phenomenal!! read more

The ocean front restaurant is conveniently located next to the pools at the Grand Hyatt Resort. It is upscale and it offers a variety of seafood and steak options. The portions here are large, and the food is extremely tasty. I'm from SF, California, and their cooking skills here puts American chefs in shame. We had the skirt steak, their signature burger, and bone marrow for dinner - it ended up being the best burger I have ever had in my life and one of the best steak experiences. Seriously their chef knows what they are doing, the food was delicious with just the right amount of seasoning. I would highly highly recommend this place. You can spend less than $30 per person (without drinks) and get a better experience than going to a $$$$ steakhouse in the U.S. read more

The location is beautiful. We went at night but wished we had time to return in broad daylight. We were greeted with a chocolate bread and a sweet butter. We've compared every bread to the one we received here ! My boyfriend had the burger which to his pleasant surprise also had lobster inside. He loved it. I had the grilled lobster. The serving size was pretty big. We also ordered the oysters which were very fresh and had a great taste. Our total bill came to $70 USD, it was worth so much more. I had a great meal here tonight! First of all the restaurant has a nice elegant, yet laid back, atmosphere and is a nice break from the chaos on 5th Avenue. Everything was delicious from the complimentary cauliflower soup, tasty bread, very fresh salad and the catch of the day fish entrée. We had heard The Grill at 1 26 is great, so we tried it out. Are we ever glad that we did! The food was amazing and the service was the best! My friends and I tried the bourbontini. It was really creative and a great way to start our delightful meal. Appetizers were generous and delicious. The oysters were scrumptious and the bone marrow was spectacular. The Wagyu beef tacos were incredible. The tuna tartare had just the right hint of ginger. The foie gras was mouthwatering. Our main courses included the Tomahawk steak which was beautiful and delicious. The lamb chops were perfect. The shrimp was a wonderful complement to incredibly paired wine. Our dessert was a caramel ice cream and brownie combination accompanied by macaroon cookies that were such a treat. Our delicious cappuccino capped a wonderful experience.
