We have been regular customers of the Sonoran grill for 3 years +. We have witnessed the prices rising and the food quality declining. Last night we decided it was time to move on. My husband had the steak tacos. There was very little steak in the tacos, it was mostly fat and gristle, uneatable! A salad came with my meal. The lettuce in the salad was brown around the edges and the salad was room temperature like it had not been refrigerated. My main meal was delicious, flounder piccata:-) The wait staff set at the back of the restaurant eating their meals. We had to flag them down to get our bill so we could pay and leave. The beer was also at room temperature. Our server said the beer just arrived and had not been in the refrigerator long enough to get cold. They closer earlier then the listed time. Got there at 9:14 and an old woman shouted from the back that they were closing but one of the waitresses had just taken an order of a large group. I said "can I see the menu we"ll order to go" the waitress that had the menus in her hand from the prior group looked at me and went to put them away. I came here for dinner a couple of weeks ago while visiting the area. My date ordered the grilled flounder and enjoyed it. I had the flounder with coconut shrimp, which was a bit of a mixed experience. The grilled flounder was overcooked, though I really liked the sauce it came with. The shrimp was a bit too sweet for my taste, so I ended up removing the coconut breading. The salad and rice were both good, but the green beans were overly garlicky for me. Our dinner was very good! The seating inside is a bit small, but there is also bar seating. The service was really good. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The cheese enchiladas were nice and hot, and rice and beans had a lot of flavor. The fish and shrimp plate was a bit small, but very good. The chicken Alfredo was really good as well, the bread gave it the extra touch! My favorite was probably the fried shrimp! I also recommend getting a lemonade, the lemonade tastes freshly made. I know I know, coming all the way to Mexico just to eat pizza is crazy lol. But it was late and we saw how other pizzas looked online and had to try it. We got the standard pepperoni pizza and it was very fresh and hot. That big of a pizza for $16 is a good deal. Doesn't taste as good the next day but most pizza doesn't. The food was excellent and the prices were better than a lot of the overpriced restaurants in Puerto Penasco. Their exchange rate is much more reasonable as well. Seating is a little limited. But the food is absolutely amazing. The service is always wonderful. Saturday Night special is prime rib. The salsa is really fresh and the beer is really cold. Even if you're not staying at Sonoran it's worth going to. read more

Filet mignon and shrimp cooked on a skewer to perfection. The rice and green beans also to perfection. Even includes a homemade Cesar salad that tastes just like the original from Cesar's Restaurant in TJ. If that isn't enough for $9.50, it also comes with the best ever freshly made salsa and chips! We've been dining here for years and have had mostly decent service with just one awful experience. But what keeps us coming back is the flounder (or maybe it's grouper) with a piccata sauce. It is lick-the-plate good! Served over pasta and with grilled veggies. Last night we had a shrimp sampler plate for an appetizer. That was very good, but the fish - again - was divine. Soft and buttery and melt in your mouth. We could drive to Old Port and try something else, but -nothing measures up to my favorite dish at the Grill. Order the fresh fish piccata and don't go when it's busy - Friday and Saturday nights, basically. Or go for a late lunch or early dinner and skip the crowds. read more

We are staying at the Sonoran Spa resort and saw this restaurant associated with the condo. We had good reports on this place and since it was an anniversary and we wanted something other than bar food we decided to give it a try. The reports were correct. The meals were perfect. I had the the grilled flounder which was excellent. It came with spinach rice and green beans. The wife had the combo. It was, based on her report, great. Will definitely return to try one of the other menu items. The menu has a large selection of great meals. It was difficult to choose. The service was wonderful. Located in our condo complex we decided to partake on a Saturday night about 7pm for their prime rib special. The party before us took the last ones. Only reason I'm giving 4 starts I stead of 5 since for a Saturday night special you should run out by 7pm. However, the enchiladas, sad and burger we did order were great. The service was nice but very slow. Will come back if we stay again, just this time earlier so we can get a prime rib. read more
