Both dentists Dr. Williams and Dr. Stevenson are excellent dentists. The staff are very professional too. My hygienist was superior, cleaning my gums and stains leaving my smile looking fresher than ever before. Not sure how she did that. Bottom line, anthem dentistry has improved tremendously and I am grateful for their wonderful service. This office has helped me over come SEVERE dental anxiety where the first time I sat in their dentist chair I sobbed uncontrollably just from the anxiety of getting any work done at all, past bad experiences had me pretty distrustful initially. They offer nitrous/sedation and it's always handled with a lot of care! I've never had any billing issues or issues with the actual quality of dental work I've had done. I've had 4 crowns and 4 fillings that have really lasted! The staff and hygienists are all incredibly sweet and the office is very upfront about costs, very clear on what my insurance will or will not cover. I always pay at the time of service and I've never had a surprise bill in the mail, maybe one or two over the last 8 years and I'm talking maybe $100 or less. I'm never offered more treatments than I need, nothing is ever upsold to me in a way where it seems like it's just a money grab. Dr. Cockrell always explains why he is or isn't doing something, his bedside manners are out of this world and quite frankly better than any medical doctor I've been to. He always strives to preserve your actual tooth as much as possible and only recommends treatments when it's needed. I hear a lot of horror stories from friends/family who sometimes have a very different experience at their own dentist offices and it really shows how rare a dentist like Dr.Cockrell is nowadays. I go for my regular cleaning in about a month and just happened to come across their yelp page and realized they should have a more recent review from someone who has always been very happy with their dental care and treatment. 5 stars for sure!

The office conditions during my last and final visit and as one of the first appointments of the day, I was seen by yet another new hygienist, who proceeded to drop the high speed metal polisher on my head multiple times, burn my gums with the laser irrigation and completely disregard the events that had just occurred. I witnessed the dirtiest dental practice I had ever attended. What's worse? The "office manager" when concerns were brought up, repeatedly made excuses for the state of the office and the lack of training provided to staff. My experience at this office was so horrendous I have contacted Arizona department of health services, BBB and my dental insurance provider.

I am going to make this review as accurate as I can…read more Scheduled for Tammy to be my hygienist due to some good reviews; I'm very particular about who touches my teeth, so I do extensive research before booking an appointment. Came to the office to find they booked me with the wrong hygienist, which is no big deal, mistakes happen (I knew she wasn't the correct hygienist because I saw her photo on the website as I was reading the bios of the dentists, and scrolling down to the hygienists section, so I had somewhat of a mental image already of who to expect for both my dentist and hygienist). As I was heading out, I spoke with the front-end staff who do the scheduling and let them know that I was scheduled with the wrong person. They informed me that there were in fact two Tammy's, one is Tammy Marie and another is Tammi. I immediately went on the website to search for the name Tammy Marie, and the name didn't exist, her name was simply 'Tammy', so there was no way I would have known that differentiation between Tammy and Tammi, but for some reason they were pushing back at me as though I should have known her real name is Tammy Marie almost as if I had made the mistake. Throughout this conversation, I remained calm and respectful despite this pushback. I never raised my voice. Suddenly, a dental assistant named Hannah came out of nowhere to the front desk area and became actively involved in the conversation with a clear attitude in which I asked her why the attitude whilst I was trying to relay to the front end staff that it would have been helpful if the hygienists names could had been clarified during the scheduling phone call to prevent this. Hannah's level of involvement was oddly strange tbh, but I wasn't trying to get sucked into that either. So I moved to request to speak to the dentist, hoping this simple confusion would be smoothed out and we could move on positively. When I spoke to the dentist, Dr. Brynn Van Dyke, I didn't feel that she had tried to make things right, nothing about her gave good intentions or any sense of care. You know that type of care where you feel when a person genuinely cares about you. I think (and this is my speculation) that Hannah may have falsely gassed her up against me prior to speaking to me as I felt Dr. Brynn Van Dyke came already negatively biased. Actually, when the hygienist, Tammi, later came to the front desk area, my immediate reaction was to assure her that none of this was personal. I told her, "This has nothing to do with you and I don't want you to feel any type of way. I specifically thought I had booked another hygienist based on reviews I had read." It was important to me that I reassure her that because I was sensitive to her feelings as well to make sure she wasn't slighted...that is the type of genuine care for another person that I didn't feel from Dr. Brynn Van Dyke. To summarize: This was a minor scheduling misunderstanding that could have been resolved with a single sentence from any of the staff: "We're sorry for the confusion. Let's get you back on schedule with your preferred providers." I understand things don't always go as planned, and I'm okay with that, but what matters most is not the issues that occur, but how the staff respond to make things right. That's what shows the character of an establishment and team. Being a doctor myself, I personally deal with challenging situations and patients, but I always remain focused on the patient and the quality of care they receive so as to provide positive outcomes and experiences. Unfortunately, I did not get that while being in the patient's chair.

Even though I originally lived and saw a local dentist in Buckeye, AZ; my spouse asked me to just try his dentist in Carefree. While it was a drive from our home and I was okay with my current Dentist something told me that just being "okay" with one's Dentist was not okay. From the ease of making my first appointment to their schedule availability; working with Anderson Dental was a breeze. Just having Saturday hours available periodically is a Fantastic way to brighten your smile! Dr. Anderson and her staff have made themselves available to both me and my family sometimes at a moments notice, and all awhile with the most friendly and professional service. They have squeezed me in multiple times when those unforeseen emergencies arose. Keeping up to date with all of the latest Dental procedures and practices certainly adds to their acumen. Even though we have moved closer to the West Valley since those Buckeye days; I would still not mind the drive to see Dr. Anderson and her Staff. I told her that I was her to see about the possibility of a Sleep Apnea mouth piece that I had see on a past card sent out by the office. Let me tell you there is a couch in the waiting room that is gray velvet and dirty with dirty pillows, looks like something you would see in a old Las Vegas hotel, not to mention its about 6 inches off the floor, I might as well set on the floor as most older people like me certainly can't get out of that couch. And then its 115 degrees outside and they have a fake electric fireplace going, like we need to feel warmer. This is not what I would expect of a Dentist office lobby to look like. As im filling out the forms the front staff was still arguing about some staff member there which was very unprofessional. I filled out the papers with my name and etc and returned it to Lynn and she said take a seat. She was more interested in getting her Uber eats delivery than helping patients it seemed. I told her I have the sleep study that my Dr has aleady done and she said to email it to here so she could show it to Lori the Dentist. I sat there for about a half hour and finally a nurse came and got me and said I need to take a picture, which i thought it was just an exray like most dentist do, but come to find out after all said in done it was a CT scan, I was directed back to a room and set in a chair and Lori and some other girl dressed in a black dress came in to see me and they explained the apparatus and she said I was a canidate and she said do you have your sleep study and I told here Lynn had it emailed to the office. I have had a CPAP machine for several months and was seeing about getting something that was easier to use and the post card that was sent in the mail said Some insurances and all medicare plans should cover the entire fee. And I highlight All Medicare Plans. Totally a false statement or a ploy to get money from interested patients seeking the mouth piece. So after she explained it she said I'll call with in the week, and went to leave and I was told I had to pay $275.00 for the CT scan. I was shocked as why I wasn't told about this before hand! So reluctantly I paid for it and went home. I was told the CT scan wasn't covered by my insurance. (False) I think Lynn was to lazy to check my insurance and was more interested in eating her lunch. So after a week I hadn't heard from Lori so I another Dr appointment in the same plaza on Friday the 4th, after that appointment I walked over to Andersen Dentist and there was Lynn setting at the desk, can i get your name, I told her and I said I wasn't here for an appointment that I was here to find out why I hadn't heard from Lori like she had promised and she snapped back at me and said your insurance doesn't cover the mouth piece. I said I want a print out of the statement of the CT scan that she charged me $275 and I said i had called my Insurance Co and they said it was covered 100% and that they see another invoice that Anderson Dental had sent in for another $120 and it was paid for and I had no other resposibilties for that service. I asked Lynn or Melinda why wasn't I told about this $275 cost of this unnecessary procedure, and she said you signed the Truman Document , don't even know what that is but I said could you show a copy, she got pretty snippy with me and I said I would like to see it! She said I can email it to you. I think HEPPA laws prohibit sent that kind of information through email. She said I cant find it right now and I said I'll wait for your. Lynn printed off the statement for the service with the codes on them and gave them to me and I sat and watched her look for the Truman Form that she called it. She then printed a from and then filled it out saying "verbal presetation-patient consented/complete wehre it clearly says Patient signature, date and staff. She said you agreed to the CT scan and I said I did not know anything about this, I said you couldn't even remember my name when I walked in how do you remember me saying I conseted to the CT scan. I said your Lying and you just printed this from and wrote that message on the bottom. I asked to speak to someone and she said Lori was at the other office and she will call me, I said she hasn't called to tell me about the results of the insurance how do you know she will call me. I guess this a scam that Dentist office use to get extra monies, totally unethical way of doing business. That front recepiontist needs and attitude adjustment and a lesson on how to do she job. I'm going to send this to the American Dental Association, also as this is a total misleading advertising and scam to many people .
