I brought my car from Sons Honda and have had my car serviced numerous of times here. It takes FOREVER for the simplest service to be completed. I am currently here right now for my battery which is still under warranty to be replaced. I got here at 7:30 am, it is now 10:10 am and my car is still not ready. During my last visit here on March 2, 2023, I was informed then that my battery was going bad and needed to be replaced. They see the history of my battery being tested but yet it's taking over 2 hours to replace it. I have two more oil changes left on my maintenance package and after this I will be going to another Honda dealership to get my car serviced. read more

I recently purchased a car at Son's Honda in McDonough Georgia. The Honda was nice. I really enjoy having it for a couple of weeks within a couple of weeks that I had the Honda. My sale representative was Garret Jr. he was a great representative sales person did everything that he could to get me into the Honda I recently took the Honda back only because of the financial reasons one the manager of the finance department David was still running my credit after the purchase of the vehicle, so something went wrong so he say when he call me back with questions of my Social Security number, which I already knew OK scam a week after that he called me back and said that we had to redo the contract which I had asked him. How can I return the car? He replied what's wrong with the car? Why do you want to return it? I said because one someone has been continuously to run my credit And financially I really cannot afford this car. The price went from 37,000 to 57,000 is no way I'm going to pay 57,000 for a car he said OK you can return it I said what about my deposit he said I will get that back to you. I waited a week. Call David Back no reply goes up there the second week shock to see me how can I help you? I said I want my deposit back he says let me get somebody to help you so he asked Kyrie to assist me I'm on top of it I'm on on the phone with someone right now to get you refunded your deposit, I will call you with your check on Monday which was a lie goes into another week no money no response. Ignore phone calls. Give me a text message on the third week. Hi your check will be mailed out to you matter fact you should have your check right now as speak 11/30 still no check no reply no phone calls back I threaten to take them to court still no reply so at this point which is 12/8 I'm filing a court order to retrieve my deposit of 1250 back with absolutely no car. The finance department is some straight BS I would never ever deal with the finance department when it comes to giving a deposit or retrieving a deposit David and Kyrie very unprofessional and shouldn't have a job. I think they are doing something under the table when it comes to people money, I will get to the bottom of it after filing the court order to get my deposit back. read more

Got 2018 CRV from sons, sales department was great. The service department the worst I've ever seen. Not too long after I got my vehicle I had a flat tire, took my vehicle in said I had a nail in my rear right tire pay my 150. Got home the check tire light came back on went back to Honda they said they checked all my tire everything thing was fine( light is off). I had to go to fl. Tire light came back on, went to Honda in Orlando they tell me I have a nail in my rear right tire, call son,s Honda ask what tire they charged "the one that looks the newest ". They never changed my tire that I payed for. Trying to talk to someone about this was so back the guy in Orlando Honda went and got his GM, and called American Honda for me. My air conditioner went out they changed me 1500 to fix it, before the year was out my air was out again 1700. My dash board goes black when I'm driving their solution was you should keep your phone with you and record it every time it goes black. My electrical system goes haywire. My lock unlocks when it wants to if my car is having a bad day if decides not to unlock I've change the battery in my key fob three times and then solution you need to just use Honda battery in your key fob just started going to another Honda matter fact I'm selling the car because it has been a money pit. But this is like the worst place ever the GM when I talk to him about the problems and about the rudeness he said well at least you don't have a Chrysler that was a solution. Also the person that was helping me she was really nice I called back and I talk to her she wasn't there they told me why she wasn't there her personal reasons she wasn't there like she's dealing with this system that's not my business. Deserves less than 1 star. Sales guy could not be bothered explaining the credit application process only that it would be 1 Inquiry. Turns out they ran my credit 4 times resulting in 4 hard inquiries in my credit. Not only did I qualify for a purchase, they came back with ridiculous down payments and monthly payments. After I tried to leave the manager stepped in and tried to sell me a car with rear damages. I was aggravated and angered to know I went thru all of that for nothing. Never again. If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. I have been going back and forth with salesman via email for weeks. I finally got a day off and told him I would be there the following Monday to buy the car. We drove over 2 hours to purchase the vehicle. We do a test drive and once we returned I'm ready to proceed with sale. He started to fill out the forms and asks how will I pay for car. It was going to be a cash sale. He goes to speak to his manager back and forth several times. Then he asks if I would like to use their financing, I'm like what's the problem I already told you it's a cash sale. He leaves one last time and came back to tell me the manager says if I don't use their financing I couldn't buy the car. WHAT THE H***! You had me drive 2 hours to tell me I can't buy the car?! Then he says I didn't know you drove such a long way. Dummy it doesn't matter you bugged me for weeks to come in and when I finally do y'all won't sell the car because it's a CASH SALE???!!! Shadiness at it's finest DO NOT I MEAN DO NOT BUY NOR WASTE YOUR TIME this place is a joke. Who turns down CASH MONEY?! Then the "TOP" salesman says well we can make more money if we do our "own" financing on BOTH ends of a deal. They assumed since I was dressed a certain way I had no money or even bad credit. When they seen I wasn't falling for their scheme I was simply told WE CANT SELL YOU A CAR! So sad this type of business practice exist. Bought a rearview mirror and asked if they could install it,was told no I would have to get a glass installer company to do it.Took it home and 15 minutes had it on.Went back a week later for valve cover gasket was told I needed to move my car car to the parking lot,100 feet away.I was the only one there at the time.Service manager was no help.These people act like they dont want return customers.Would not advise this place,find another honda dealer. read more

3 1/2 months after purchasing an Odyssey van from Sons plus an unbelievably expensive extended warranty, I'm still waiting on a check and word from the Gen Manager of Son's. A month after my purchase I was in my local Honda dealership cancelling my old extended warranty on my car traded in when they offered me a warranty for $800 less. I took it and began cancellation of Son's warranty at that time I was told it would be 5-6 weeks to get the refund. Now I've sent in 2 photos of signed cancellation by internet and mailed them one. They claim it's been canceled but it took them two weeks to realize the first copy I sent wasn't clear enough for the powers that be so another signed form to send. If I ever get my money back here's betting it'll not be the $2400 I charged on my credit card but some prorated amount minus the time since May 31! read more

Aftermarket parts!! One does not expect that a dealership is installing aftermarket parts on their vehicle when they go to a dealership, well that's what happened to me. I took my vehicle in for recommended brake work by the dealership and 4 months later it's as if I needed new brakes on my vehicle, grinding and rumbling as if my rotors were bad. I took my car back into the dealership and explained the issue and after waiting 2 hours was informed the issue was resolved and after a few days the same thing happened. I went back in the next week and was informed that aftermarket part were installed on my vehicle, to my dismay I was shocked. I was informed that the rear break pads were changed but of course I was inconvenienced and had to come back to get my front brakes replaced but I wanted to post to inform anyone that visits this dealership and any other dealership to ask for OEM parts as dealerships are charging far more and the expectation is that the consumer get the parts recommended for their vehicle, which one of the many reasons consumers come to the dealership versus any other vehicle service provider. I had already diagnosed my issue with a local mechanic (who essentially broke my car), auto zone, and oreilys. I spoke to the service dept. and explained that I just needed a timing chain replacement. The lady on the phone assured me they'd be able to complete this service. Instead-- once my car arrived at the dealership I was told my car has no compression and they would not be able to work on the car until I bought a $6,000 new engine. If you look up "low compression" on google it tells you it is caused by a bad timing belt.... So I'm not understanding why it is that I'm unable to get my service done given this is the problem. A whole new engine is not necessary. This dealership is a scam. And on top of all this they're asking for $200 for misdiagnosing my car. $400 in total down the drain just to tow it to this dealership and tell me something I already knew. Today I had the best car buying experience of my life with Geno aka G! I already had a deal in place at landmark for a Dodge Journey SE (base model). I had already been approved, the paperwork drawn up and all I had to do was go sign and pick it up. On my way up a advertisement showed up on my Facebook for Sons Honda with a Dodge Journey same color, and about the same mileage (only 20,000 miles) but with a MUCH more upgraded trim. It was GT and had upgrades such as heated leather seats, premium sound system, upgraded rims and bigger tires, a V6 engine instead of a 4L and many more. The price was higher by about 4 thousand but I figured I'd stop and check it out since I was in the area. I absolutely loved it!! I told the salesman (G) I needed a price at or lower than what I already had negotiated at landmark, and he blew me away when he managed to get me a GREAT interest rate with zero down payment and monthly payments lower than what I asked for! In less than an hour he had everything all done including getting me a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty, extended manufacturer warranty, free service and oil changes for 2 years, gap insurance and roadside assistance(with rental coverage) ALL INCLUDED WITH THE PAYMENT STILL LESS THAN WHAT I HAD ASKED FOR! WOW!! Everyone was so incredibly nice and knowledgeable about everything I asked. They worked quickly and efficiently to get me the absolute best deal possible with zero pressure or hassle! I did not have have an ideal experience at Son's Honda. In fact the experience was completely p@#s poor. In short, a dealership that refuses a deal over on a $290 difference for a 4-year old car with proof that similar cars in the area are lower priced and have lower mileage is simply not in business to sell cars. A counter offer of coupons for discounted oil changes and emission testing is not an equitable response as it can only be honored at that dealership and the price for the services exceeds an average price of several repair shops in the city. Cars exist in a buyers market and consumers as myself who are not dependent on dealer financing, have automotive experience, and have researched the market simply shall not accept nebulous responses during negotiation. It is changing world and a business model that allows money to walk out the door over 1.5% of the price is likely facing future harsh realities. read more

Recently had my wife's 2012 Odyssey serviced by the team at Sons Honda. I have to tell you - very good experience! This was my first visit personally back to the dealership in almost a year since we bought the van. I arrived slightly late for my appointment, but hey...what's new about that! They offered to shuttle me over to a local restaurant to eat (it was 9AM on a Sat.) or to get me a coffee while I waited the quoted 90 minutes at the dealership. I took them up on the shuttle service, and spent the next hour and change at Chick-fil-et surfing the web and eating some good food! He explained the features of the car and how they worked. He was very thorough and asked along the way if I had additional questions. I asked him to show me the different color combos because over the Internet it can be deceiving. He tried to get a feel for what exactly I wanted in a vehicle. My customer service experience with Sons Honda was terrible, one of the worst customer service experience that I have ever experience. I had my vehicle towed to this location because it was close, I talked to the service department on a Friday, who informed me that the vehicle was at the time being checked out and that this representative would contact me on Saturday AM with information on the nature of the vehicle problem (ABS). No one called, I had to call late Saturday afternoon to only find out that the vehicle was never checked into the service area for diagnostic and the Mgr on duty appear to careless at to my inquire into the status of my vehicle, stating that she could not locate the vehicle in the service area. She later was able to locate the vehicle and informed that the vehicle was not processed into the shop. She had an argumentative approach in her voice, advising that she would call me back in 4 hours with an update, she never called back. Worst customer service ever, as a manager I would have expected better, but I would not recommend this location for auto repair service to anyone. read more

Garbage. I lived in Georgia several years ago. I went to Sons Honda to have my oil and filter changed. I have an old, high-mileage Honda Accord that's never failed me; I've driven the car across the US twice without incident. The physical structure and layout of Sons Honda is clean, well laid out and accommodating, so I assumed was professional and integrous. The "oil change" took over an hour. The manager at the time comes out and starts describing a whole list of problems. At that point, I had taken my car to reputable shops (non-Honda dealers) and never once had I ever been told of anything wrong with the vehicle. Sons Honda managed to convince me that my car was "unsafe" to drive (a hackneyed trick I fell prey to) and I foolishly agreed to remedy. Two weeks later, after their tech bent a valve while trying to complete a top-end, replaced parts that weren't damaged or broken, or didn't completely bolt down, I had the displeasure of arguing with the same manager about how I really was responsible for his service department's complete ineptitude, criminal gouging and blowhard posturing. I ended paying only for the worthless parts they replaced and the initial oil change. (I had to also argue the fee for the rental car I had to use as, at that time, I hadn't managed master floating in the air to get to my job.) I mention this now, living in a different state, that my car has never been the same. It's fraught with odd problems and gets terrible gas mileage. I rue the day this and other car dealerships are driven to bankruptcy and extinction. The ICE car dealership has always been a scam, keeping people in a perpetual state of fleecing by churning out one model after another as upgrade. Buying a car here? Sure I got a fair price and the car I wanted. However, I also bought the service package which tied me to the Sons Service Department. An unfortunate 45 minute drive from me. I have no words for how awful their service department is. Time after time they give me an "idea" of how long my service will take and time and time again it's a laughable under estimate. The last time I was there I had an issue with my spoiler popping off that they had previously (poorly) fixed; they told me it would take an hour to an hour and a half max. I'm not joking when I say it took them FOUR HOURS to do my 30k service and look at the spoiler...which they didn't have the part to fix. I was waiting in house and successfully missed work by several hours. Then as I was checking out the service consultant and math weren't too familiar with one another; I had to guide her through line by line and show her how I was being overcharged by nearly $100. All in all I would NEVER do business with Sons again. read more

In 2013, I brought my 2012 accord in for oil change. They totaled it during test drive. While it was an accident, and their insurance did pay of the current value of my car, it was still fairly new so I was upside down. I still owed money on it! The dealership manager, "friendly Freddie", did nothing to help me get into another car, wouldn't even return my calls . I didn't want something for free, but at least offer me a family discount to purchase another car! I ended up replacing it at the Mazda dealership, and so glad I did! He always greets us with a friendly smile and is always professional. He builds a rapport with all of his customers and puts them at ease that their car will be repaired timely and correctly. In days like now, we need more service advisors and service departments whom you can trust. He always ensures that we are completely satisfied when we leave. He keeps us up to date on the repair completion time by texting us and we have always been completely satisfied. He really enjoys his job and he ensures that he offers a shuttle to us if there is a long wait time. We are very satisfied with Mark and the service department and my toddler son enjoys his smile and interaction with him every time we come. We will continue to come here and we highly recommend their service department because they will ensure you have a great experience! read more

I would give 5 stars but the service center ruined the 5th star. I bought a brand new 2019 Honda fit about a month ago from Ed! I love it so much and he was an awesome salesman! I definitely recommend him if you go to look at anything he will make sure you're good to go and everything is perfect and he's great with those prices! Their service center has some nice people but had to go in for a code reset due to a "system failure" he called it. Basically saying it was just a little glitch with my service lights. But I dropped the car off at around 9:15 on a Thursday and they said it would be only about an hour to fully have it done and ready to go, so they had their shuttle they offer take me to work so I wasn't late. (I worked from 9:30-9 that day so I couldn't go get my car till the next day), however I never received a single call that it was ready or why it happened. I had to call them around 6ish to see what was going on since I never heard from anyone. I actually called several times before and they said "can we call you back". it just made me frustrated that if it was just a code reset how come nobody could call me or message me or email me that my vehicle was ready and good to go. But nope, I had to call them several times to get that information. I have a three year service package with them, but because of the bad experience with the service center not sure if I will take advantage of it honestly. The service people kind of just rubbed me the wrong way. Very poor communication skills. If you're in the market for a Honda or any car really, check out this place if you want a good sales experience they have many trade ins and shop with Ed he was awesome! He gets a 10/10 with a 110% from me. I loved the buying experience. When it comes time for an oil change I'll give the service guys another shot and update you guys if they've gotten any better. read more

I went here to buy my first car, and after having it for a few days and reflecting on the experience I decided to review. The salesman I had was Carlton and he was wonderful. Super helpful and willing to let me look at everything on the lot (I went having absolutely no idea what I wanted and Sons Honda was the 4th dealership I had gone to that day). Carlton was friendly and patient with me and was happy to answer all my questions. He even took the time to make sure my phone was paired and taught me most of the buttons before I left the lot in my car since I was driving home at night. Dante in finance was also a total pleasure to work with. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because of one man who works there (also in finance). He was so unbelievably rude to me and my father. He lied to our faces about several things and was super aggressive. If it had not been for Carlton, I would have walked out after encountering this man. Carlton and Dante ultimately saved the day and I left happy in my new car. I would recommend this place to friends just be prepared if you go here to potentially encounter a bad apple in the finance department. read more

I have been doing business with Sons Honda in McDonough Georgia for 5+ years, mostly service as well as purchasing new cars. I have 3 Hondas and put a lot of miles on them therefore I'm there every month doing business. I'm moving all of my business now because of their poor integrity. I viewed a used 2016 HRV (only 1600 miles), and really liked it--it has aftermarket items that really set it apart from the standard HRV. I purchased the vehicle, they kept it an extra day to redo the window tint because it was illegal...when I picked up the vehicle the following day, one of the after market items had been removed and taken back by the original owner. Although this item was an inexpensive one; it highlighted their lack of integrity. I brought it to their attention, they were already aware of it and failed to mention it to me. They failed to compensate me for it or "make it right". So for a few dollars they are losing my business completely. The $$ was not the issue, the fact they advertised a car with certain items then delivered it with less shows a complete disregard for truthfulness, integrity, and honesty. I know I could have refused the vehicle, but I was willing to take it as is....buy my own $12 aftermarket item and take my business elsewhere. To add, their service department has seriously gone down hill. They ruined the new paint on my pilot by running it through the automatic car wash, failed to tighten a rear wheel that almost came off, and failed to secure the fairing under the engine after an oil change that almost caused a catastrophic accident...there's more, but I'll leave it at that and caution anyone from doing business with them. Do not buy from them and do not have your car serviced there. Let me tell you my story!! I drove from Franklin TN to buy a Honda Odyssey from SONS. I got a great price, but the service has been awful. As we were driving back we heard some popping in the right wheel, took it to Darrell Waltrip Honda to get fixed, warranty was in play. As DW Honda completed the 150 point inspection, they noted that the transmission fluid, brake fluid and power steering fluid had not been changed. Although I was told that everything had been done and changed including two tires. It was hard for me to believe, so DW Honda took me out and showed me the fluids. Oh my, they were so filthy. After back and forth with SONS Honda, they finally agreed to pay for after I got the service, which happened on May 1st and submitted receipt same day. In addition my tags were going to expire on May 13th, in which I informed them. I called back a week later, because no one has said anything about the reimbursement and no one has said anything about tags. As I called they said, oh you need to get an emissions test there in Tennessee, and the tags, they're working on it. To date I still have not received my tags, they had to send me another set of temporary tags because I drove for two days on expired tags and I have not received by reimbursement. I called corporate office. They are having the same trouble and may have to escalate and according to the corporate office there are several issues there. I have owned Honda's for 20+ years, and the customer service in Tennessee at Reddell Honda in Murfreesboro and Darrell Waltrip Honda in Franklin Tennessee are top notch. I would buy a car here even if it were the best price in the United States and they shipped the car for free, because the customer service you provide after the car buy experience is what counts. Oh and watch the service department, they say they change fluids, but obviously they didn't, that's a red flag for sure!!! DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS PLACE, THEY HAVE ISSUES!!! read more
