    Food

Food is soooo good its probably better than sex (I'll update after I try the ladder). We got the sweet & sour vegetables, vegetarian egg foo young, noodles, and sizzling rice soup. All was amazing. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Only complaint I have this time was that the bathroom soap dispenser was either out or not working but that's OK because we like to get a little messy sometimes if you're stepping in my drift. Best Chinese restaurant I've eaten at.

A charming restaurant, attentive service, and delicious food - and at reasonable prices? Yes, please! The portions were more generous than we'd expected. The eggplant was a star, as was the green bean, and the chow fun was outstanding. This family owned restaurant took such good care of us. We had a wonderful time, and we would definitely return!

Special Noddle Soup loads of noodles, veggies and hot broth.

I stop in for a nice entree, lunch special or order to go for a mini picnic at the gazebo park. You will be served a hefty meal. The park is only two short blocks around the corner. Walkable

A good choice for Chinese food is your looking in the Napa valley. Extensive vegetarian options and a pretty decent place to eat in or get take out from. Service is nice, and it's a family run place that largely serves the community. I recommend their lunch specials on the weekdays as there is good value.

Typical but tasty Chinese food, at a reasonable price (especially for Calistoga!) Lots of vegetarian and pescatarian options (as well as vegan and gluten free possibilities) I had the Szechuan eggplant lunch special... yum!

Food is delicious. And not just for vegan food, but period. The fried rice, orange chicken, pad Thai noodles, everything we tried was good.

Besides the beautiful outdoor dining courtyard, the inside houses a sports bar, a VIP dining room, and a casual dining rooms for your selection. As a conneseur of fine, authentic Chinese food, the menu was very impressive. When you see chicken feet on the menu, you know it's authentic! In addition to the chicken feet, we also ordered the Peking duck, mapo tofu, and a few different types of dim sum. (Sorry I wasn't able to post any photos. But I did notice that the menu we saw had a little more than what other customers posted on Yelp.). Bottom line, the food was simply fantastic. Chef's kiss!!! Last, but not least, the staff is phenomenal. We were waited on by 3 different employees, each of whom gave impeccable service. Although all 3 were great, we have to give a special shout out to Jesse. He shared his creativity with us from his delicious cocktail creations to his AI-generated memory photos, which IMO would be any customer's novel reminder of their wonderful dining experience at Empress M. We will definitely be back!

Second, when I arrived I was warmly greeted and handed a nicely packaged order of General Tsos chicken and a side of rice. Third, the portion size was huge! It could easily feed three people (maybe even four). The price was reasonable for sure, $21 for the main and a side of white rice. Fourth, parking is plentiful and free. Now for the "not so positive " The food was not great. It lacked flavor no hint of any spice. Was it terrible? I wouldn't go that far, but it certainly wasn't great nor memorable. In the future, I would not make a special trip. There are far better options in town.

The fact that Hang Ah charges $8.45 for an order of har gaw or shu mai today when just a few years ago this dish was half the price at most dim sum spots puts a money chill in my very bones. But the fact is that their flavors are on point brings me back in the future. I had one of the best turnip cake dim sum I have ever tasted. Crispy fried with some great flavor through and through. I would order this dish every time I visit in the future. But I would also request that they sear it on both sides for optimum tastiness. The har gaw and fried squid were also full of flavor. I do think that in the future I would request the squid extra crispy as it was a bit undercooked and limp when it should be crispy af. :-) The spot is typical of Chinese restaurants in terms of ambiance and service. All in line with my expectation. My only complaint is paying near $50 for 2 orders of dim sum and one entree. I hate 2026 prices.

We had gotten chicken chow mein, mongolian beef, eggplant and tofu clay pot, sauteed string beans, pea shoots, turnip cake, and egg custard buns. The mongolian beef had pretty good flavor tho it tasted different from the norm. Different brown sauce of sorts. Still cooked well though since it worked in this case. The string beans and the eggplant/tofu clay pot were cooked well. I liked the flavors on them tho the clay pot needed stronger flavors. Usually for clay pots it would sit in the sauce and be practically enveloped in it. That and the chicken chow mein were both a bit bland unfortunately. The pea shoots had pretty good flavor and garlic but were a tad undercooked; hard to chew through. Turnip cake were decent, custard buns were still on the cold side. A quick trip to the microwave did wonders for the buns. Decent for the area but still hard to meet some of the marks for us.

Located on Lakeville Highway, just east of Hwy 101, it would make a good place to stop for a nice lunch or dinner. I was there on a warm Saturday, at around 11:30 am. The dining room has a contemporary asian decor. The AC kept the air cool and comfortable. There's several 2,4, and 6 seat tables. Just before lunchtime, the place was 1/3 full with customers. I was seated along the wall. I was offered a menu, and choice of hot tea or ice water. I asked for chopsticks, because the place setting had a fork. I ordered the Mongolian Beef lunch plate w/ fried rice. Also, I asked for an order of (Lightly Breaded) Fried Prawns. Service was excellent. My waiter was very attentive, and served my food as soon as it was ready. He told me if there were any delays. I didn't have to ask for anything. The Fried Prawns were large and plump. They were served with various sauces to choose from. The Mongolian Beef lunch plate had a nice presentation. The portion size was fair. The fried rice was moist, and blended well with the Mongolian Beef. The Mongolian Beef was spicy and tasted just right. Hot 'n Sour soup came with the lunch plate. Lily Kai's recipe for hot 'n sour soup is a little different than what you might get in most other chinese restaurants. They make it with alot of mushrooms. The familiar flavor was there, but it lacked several expected ingredients. Well, as long as it tasted good, I'm okay with it. ----------------------------------------------- So I had a great first time experience here. The plaza has a free shared parking lot. There's a Starbucks Coffee shop in the same plaza. Also, this place is down the street from the Kaiser Medical Offices. Also, they have clean and large restrooms.
