Great service, amazing food and chill location! They had so many options on the menu but I opted for a speciality roll and salad. Both were flavorful and refreshing. Will make sure to come back on my next visit to Napa!

Stopped by for a quick lunch today, Food was good, service is attentive. We had beef sukiyaki which smelled and tasted really good, white rice was a bit hard but I softened it with the sukiyaki broth. Sushi was great and the fatty torro was excellent. Overall it was great and I definitely recommend it.

If you want unauthentic and bad Japanese food, this is the place to get it. The rice is hard and clearly some cheap form of short grain rice. Sushi did not look fresh. The miso soup is so salty. The tempura was so oily but probably the only thing that was edible. The grilled fish was burnt and dry. The chicken nabe stew was blend and chicken was dry. The ambience was what you expect. Just an average Japanese restaurant decor. Tight space. Nothing special. The waitress never smiled. Just took order and poured tea.

Two rolls of- a lobster roll and a special caterpillar roll, which was my favorite!

Wanted a quick lunch, ordered a couple sushi rolls to go. Had a lobster one and another fancy caterpillar roll, which I liked even more. The place was really cute. Wish I had time to eat in!

We had reservations at this restaurant and were seated immediately. It's a casual ambiance. We ordered the pork gyoza and three rolls - Diablo, Sabba-dabba-doo and the Venus roll. The rolls were good but messy, they could've been rolled a little tighter.

Came back again since we enjoyed our first visit! Unfortunately this time around the service lacked but the food was good. The rice was cooked perfectly and the fish portion was generous. We sat down and placed our order at 6:50 pm. We waited a bit and realized our appetizer still hasn't come in so we checked in with our server who said it was coming out shorty. At 7:35 we were given the appetizer and 5 minutes later all the sushi rolls and dishes we ordered. It took 45 minutes for the food to come out, which is fair given they were busy with to go ordered it seemed. But once that subsided I noticed tables who were seated before us started to get their food first. The lack of service in stating that it was going to take longer for the food to come out as well would have been appreciated. We don't mind waiting but I believe it's important to communicate with the customer that food may take longer so that we are not left looking around wondering what is going on. Overall, might have been a one off night and disappointed that I left feeling this way because the food was so good this time!

We recently relocated to Sonoma county (The Sea Ranch) from Silicon Valley (Menlo Park) and have had some nice meals along the coast since we moved here FT (Harbor House, Ledford House etc) but this little spot is a real gem. Friends recommended it so we had a double date night and filled the table with all sorts of goodies. Great evening and food. Highly recommended. Small, simply situated on a very quiet street in Point Arena. A few doors down from a decent locally sourced weed shop (also worth a visit BTW), and a local fish monger (Point Arena is a commercial fishing port) and solid local bakery (Pelican), this excellent restaurant serves up a variety of rotating locally sourced small plates and yakatori style grilled meats and veggies as well as some raw fish and stews as well. Highlights were the sashimi, the fish roe on rice, the grilled pork belly, the grilled cabbage salad, the tempura shrooms and the fried chicken oysters as well as the grilled chicken thighs. All excellent. They have a nice selection of saki's as well (we had 2 small bottles to share $20/each) and to close the meal we had the Matcha ice cream with passion fruit ! All in for 4 people including tax and tip $250...which in today's world seemed very fair to me. Great meal and great vibe overall. Chef/owners apparently have strong training and work experience in Japanese settings and fine dining restaurants- which may explain why this place does very simple things so well... Make a reservation on the weekends otherwise you'll miss out or end up eating at the bar. There are certainly worse things to do than that...however, trust me. Visit here and thank me later. Well done Izakaya Gama ! We will be back. This will undoubtedly be on our regular "locals dining out rotation" now. Bravo Izakaya Gama !

Fried, grilled, steamed, raw... not a single miss. We were staying just up the block on a short getaway, and this ended up being one of the most memorable parts of the trip. At one point we were talking about Rintaro in SF, and the chef overheard us--she mentioned he knew the folks there and spoke highly of them. Honestly, after eating here, I think Gama is better, and at a much friendlier price point. Warm atmosphere, great food, and a chef who clearly cares about what they're doing. This place is a win all around.

Date of Visit: 12/20/2025…read more This was our second visit to Kenzo Napa to celebrate our 4th Anniversary. Last time when we visited was the next day when we got married in Las Vegas! We stayed at Andaz Napa for one night before Christmas to celebrate our Anniversary, and we booked Kenzo Napa for the dinner and it was walkable distance from the hotel. Kenzo Napa was established by Kenzo Tsujimoto in 2016, and received Michelin 1 star in 2018, and every year ever since. The price for Kaiseki is $295 per person, and my husband ordered the Omakase Pairing $197 and I got a bottle of Aoki Shuzo, "Yuki Otoko" Junmai, Niigata $40 to pair with the set. 2021 Suzu First glass of the omakase pairing is the sparking rose. This is made with 54% Malbec, 37% Merlot, and 9% Cabernet Franc, with the smell of strawberry and blood orange. Cauliflower Chawanmushi The first dish is chawanmushi, with ginger, snow crab, etc. 2024 asatsuyu The second glass of the omakase pairing was the Sauvignon Blanc. The name is from Japanese meaning morning dew. Seasonal Hassun The second dish is the seasonal hassun, which is the traditional Japanese appetizer. Five different small dishes including the lotus root dumpling with bottarga, ehime bluefin tuna, shiso leaves rolled angel shrimp, Japanese yam with Italian caviar, and Hokkaido scallop with persimmon with peanuts. Sawahime Yamahai Junmai Third glass of the omakase pairing is the Junmai with the aromas of gardenia, ripe kiwi, papaya, green peppercorn, aged comte cheese. Yamaguchi Tilefish Owan This one is our favorite dish of the day! Very fresh and refreshing, with fish and vegetable and mushroom. Midorikawa Daiginjo The fourth glass of the pairing has a great hint of spice but elegant at the same time. Oita Sea Bream Sashimi The fourth dishes is the sashimi, paired with ponzu sesame shoyu. 2023 yui Rosé This Rosé was made with 65% Malbec, 26% Merlot, and 9% Cabernet Franc. Paired greatly with the next course. Simmered Mie Toro Sawara Mackerel Love the texture of the mackerel. 2021 Asuka Asuka was made with 83% Cabernet Franc, 11.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 1.5% Petit Verdot. Got 93 points on Wine Enthusiast. Wagyu Tendon and Japanese Taro Croquette This Croquette was made with Japanese taro and wagyu beef. 2020 Rindo And with the next course is the red blend made with 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 23% Petit Verdot, 7% Malbec, 6% Cabernet Franc. The wine has great berry aroma and spices. A5 Wagyu Tenderloin Jibuni The seventh course is the A5 wagyu beef steak. Cut into bite sizes, with mushrooms and veggies. Daishichi Minowamon This sake has a strong smell of berry, banana, and pear. Velvety and buttery. Hokkaido Sea Urchin, Ikura and Mediterranean Bluefin Tuna Sushi Bowl served with red miso soup One of my favorite Japanese seafood bowl! Chef's Featured Desserts Three different desserts was great too. It has a goji berry panna cotta and fried spring roll with vanilla ice cream, and also a berry ice cream with caramelized walnut. And on the side there was a warm green tea, making a sweet and perfect ending.

A great experience with good fish and service. We have been twice and will go again. Not cheap but…read moreworth it.

The restaurant is intimate and polished, but what stood out most to me was how elegant everything felt without ever becoming stiff or overly formal. It was refined, creative, and clearly very intentional, but still deeply enjoyable to eat. The meal opened with a wild chamomile milk punch that was floral, silky, and so refreshing. It set the tone right away. From there, each course felt carefully composed, with flavors that were layered, balanced, and often surprisingly memorable. The spiny lobster "roll" croustade was such a fun and delicious bite, with sweet lobster tucked into a crisp shell and a brain emulsion that added a rich briny depth. The venison tart was earthy and delicate, and serving it on antlers made the presentation feel dramatic and playful at the same time. The duck liver and key lime pie was one of the most unexpected combinations of the night, but it worked beautifully, rich and silky with just enough brightness to keep it lifted. Even the fermented rutabaga bread pudding with 100-year balsamic was intriguing in the best way, savory, gently funky, and deepened by that concentrated sweetness. I also loved how strong the seafood courses were. The amberjack with quince, shiso, pluot, peashell, and agave felt clean, delicate, and very precise, with each element bringing its own kind of freshness. The Miyagi oyster was bright and refreshing, with wasabi and passionfruit adding a lively kick. One of the most creative dishes of the night was the clam "chowder" custard, essentially a silky chawanmushi topped with clam chowder, caviar, white asparagus, and aged pork. It was luxurious, comforting, and so thoughtfully done. The 60-day dry-aged tuna belly rice bowl was another standout, rich and buttery, but balanced with passion fruit, peach, and citrus so it never felt heavy. The meat courses were just as memorable. The Wolfe Ranch quail was deeply savory and aromatic, with grilled rose and burnt citrus giving it a beautiful lift, and the tortellini brodo alongside it added warmth and a comforting depth that made the whole course feel especially complete. The Masami Ranch beef course brought so much dimension, from fermented pepper and carrot to charcuterie and a magnolia-smoked rib, with each bite feeling more savory and layered than the last. By the time dessert arrived, the kitchen still had not lost its momentum. The dessert presentation was beautiful and exceptional, and the final courses felt elegant, detailed, and fully in line with the rest of the meal. Nothing felt like an afterthought. Service throughout the evening was polished, attentive, and gracious, and the pacing gave each course room to shine. Enclos feels like a restaurant with a very clear point of view. As such, it was extremely noisy and you could see that couples on dates had a hard time even talking to one another, and eventually just stopped. I could barely hear my wife talking next to me. Most of the servers would even have to lean in to hear the orders. As for the food, nothing really stood out. We ordered a large variety as we were a group of 10 eating family style and nothing really stood out. The quality of the food I would say was akin to fast food or mall food court level, but you're paying 3 times as much. The price belied the food quality. For example, 3 small pieces of ribs as an appetizer for more than $30, I'd expect it to be uniquely spiced, flavorful and juicy, but it was rather dry and tasted as like sauce from Panda Express. Their Wagyu beef carpaccio had too many strong flavors so the taste of the beef itself was lost. Heck, it didn't even really have the notable creamy-like texture that wagyu was supposed to have either (likely a lower grade of wagyu, probably somewhere between USDA Choice and Prime). A lot of their items feel gimmicky too: the unagi clay pot came with some seaweed, a seaweed holder, and two small bottles of sauces. The sauces were bland and contributed nothing to the dish. Making your own "hand rolls" with the seaweed did nothing for this dish other than get your hands dirty. I've watched enough Iron Chef back in the day to understand that this is very Morimoto, as he tries to make the dishes fun. The unagi itself was quite nice, though it might be my personal bias. The Halibut we got was overcooked and dry. Yes halibut is a firmer meat, but man this was hard to eat. The best dish was likely the Ishiyaki Buri Bop, which came with some tables idea theatrics. Nevertheless, for the price, you could do much better at a place like Kunjip Tofu in the bay. Overall, a bad experience. Based on the price point, I thought we'd be getting better food and better ambience, but it was overall mediocre - a blemish on the Morimoto name.
