Sophia is truly, TRULY, a gem of a human being who goes above and beyond what most personal trainers do for their clients. I've finished 2 sessions with Sophia and it speaks to her expertise, skill, and warmth that I immediately signed up for a 24-session package after our introductory session. With Sophia, what you see is what you get: she is genuine, motivating, and will push you without you even realizing it. She offers nutrition guidance and meal plans if you want to use them, and will text you throughout the day to remind you to drink water and eat enough. I want to specifically commend Sophia on her ability to work with folks like myself who are neurodiverse. Sophia deeply understands autism and ADHD and the way they interact with each other: struggling with consistency, being over or understimulated, needing "safe foods", stimming, experiencing issues with textures, flavors, colors, or sounds, wanting structure and routine but not knowing how to get it... I could go on and on. I was so incredibly worried about reaching out to a personal trainer because I was worried my natural ways of thinking would be seen as weakness, laziness, or rigidity. For those of us who are neurodivergent, we often don't have the energy or the mental bandwidth to educate others on why we're different, but the world makes us do so anyway. Sophia takes this hidden barrier away and truly meets every client where they're at. She deeply understands these patterns through experience and empathy. There is no judgment and no explaining you need to do - she understands, and she is there to support you! As for the training itself: like I mentioned before, Sophia has the ability to push you without you realizing she's doing so. She will listen to your goals and craft a workout with them in mind, whether that's losing weight, getting stronger, building lean muscle, etc. I had never really done weight training before and was definitely like "what in the fresh hell?!" on some of the exercises I did during the first session. But Sophia was always there to make sure I had the proper form, AND to push me to do more reps than I ever thought I could. On my own, I'd give up on 3 or 4 reps - Sophia has helped me to do 10 in those scenarios. Even if you want to give up on yourself, she won't give up on you. I can also say I've already started feeling changes in my body in the two sessions I've done. I can feel the muscles in my legs getting a lot stronger and leaner - and this is only after two sessions! In addition to that, Sophia's approach to nutrition is sneakily SO helpful. She encourages you to eat routinely and make sure you're genuinely fueling yourself - not restricting, calorie counting, or cutting out foods that are safe/comfortable to you. I am someone who frequently had produce go bad and had to throw out even the smallest packages of greens because I had no motivation to eat them. After two sessions with Sophia, I just finished my first one pound package of baby spinach! Sophia pushed me in our sessions, and that meant I knew I needed sustenance that junk food and fast food simply couldn't provide. I've tried all kinds of workouts in the past--weight training, Pilates, yoga, spinning, CrossFit--and while some helped me lose weight, I could never stick with them long-term. I have been training with Sophia for the last 5 months and she completely changed the way I think about my fitness! This review is long overdue. I have been training with Sophia since April 2021, and She is the most experienced and committed trainer I've met. I was trained by at least 5 personal trainers in my lifetime. Some were good, and some were weird. But none of them is as badass as Sophia. Sophia is charming, honest, funny, and sweet. Additionally, her gym is clean and organized. She is extremely reliable & punctual. She not only always has my exercise routine planned but also pushes me to my healthy limit. Dealing with endometriosis and chronic cervical radiculopathy sometimes makes it quite challenging to work with since it limits my ability to do some exercises. Nevertheless, Sophia finds a way to work around it to ensure I achieve what I want without over-exhausting my body. She would go the distance for her clients. She is just that amazing. I have been working out with Sophia for about 5 months and I have not only found myself stronger, more confident and smaller, but I've also gained a friend. Sophia has absolutely changed my life. When I started working out with Sophia, I had just started walking again after a surgery to repair a torn tendon in my leg. I had no feeling in my leg (I still don't) and could barely walk 1/3 of a mile without immense pain. I was extremely limited in what I could do, so I was looking forward to a trainer who understood the severity of my injury and the difficult recovery I had. Now, I can walk miles and even get back into activities I did prior to my injury. It's amazing to feel normal again. From day one, Sophia asked pointed questions about my injury, what I had done in physical therapy and my fitness goals. She learned what I did (and didn't) like in work outs and pushed me to get better and better. Each workout was harder than the one before and pusher me further - I started out only twice a week and grew to 4/5 times a week as I found myself getting stronger and in better shape. I've been training with Sophia for about seven months now and she is truly amazing!! I had binge eating issues in the past and really wanted to shed the extra pounds from the damage I've done. I've tried everything from fad diets to endless amounts of cardio but wasn't seeing results. Although I was eating a lot less and exercising more, I was still gaining the weight back easily after I ate normal again. I was getting frustrated :(. However, within the first four months into training with Sophia and incorporating a nutritious diet, I went down from 22.8% body fat to 18% and had lost inches on just about every part of my body. In addition, I finally got my metabolism to pick up again! Besides gaining muscle tone, the only other thing I've gained since is a bum. FYI I'm asian so being born with a big bum is a true rarity for our kind! Hahaha. Just saying. I wish I could give Sophia ten stars. Alas, five will have to do. I started working out with Sophia in July 2015 feeling like I was in a workout rut: I ran a lot (longer flat distances) but struggled to include strength, speed and hills into my plan. From day one with Sophia, all of that started to change. She listened to my views on my current workout plan and my feelings about my body and, without hesitation, knew immediately how to build from there. Sophia has unbelievably exceeded my expectations. She unleashed the #beastmode and taught me to believe in myself. It turned out that my rut was deeper than workouts - it was a personal rut that she helped me overcome and completely eliminate. Her confidence in my abilities has worn off on me and has influenced not just my attitude in the gym but in life. Her encouragement has allowed me to do things in the gym I didn't know were possible - whether it's more reps or longer planks - I have amazed myself. I now feel like the athlete I always wished I could be and, in fact, always was, if I would have just allowed myself to believe it. Her support is unmatched: whatever your goals are, she will provide workouts or food advice or ways to improve and will guide you 100%. There are no silly questions and she is very open when it comes to talking about her perspectives and experiences with fitness and with life. She always checks in to see how things are going which I very much appreciate since life changes don't just happen in a few hours at the gym. I was just looking for a trainer and got a mentor, life coach and friend as well. (True story: She even took an Uber to Malibu when her car brokedown to come watch me run a half marathon.) I absolutely love Sophia! She is an amazing personal trainer! Every single workout she kicks my butt! I love how each session we do something different. She really knows how to maximize your training. I have had other trainers where I didn't see results, not the case with Sophia! I have so far gone from a size 12 to a 6 and my metabolism is so strong now! I feel like I can eat anything without worrying (not that I do, Sophia). Sophia has expanded the possibilities of what I think is possible. 2 months into training I was already at what before was my dream shape. Now I am not satisfied and know I can do better than that. I trained with Sophia for 6 months to get me wedding ready. She is AMAZING and I am picky when it comes to trainers. :) First off, I was in pretty good shape to start with - worked out 5 days a week doing spinning, hot yoga, running and some lifting but I am 40 and was having a hard time getting tone - specifically the wedding arms I wanted. Sophia has a warm, caring attitude and creates workouts that are specific to your body type and goals. She sent me motivational texts that kept me on track and pushed me hard during our workouts. And she was calm and encouraging when training got hard and I was over eating "clean" all the time. I lost 8 lbs (and I started at 110) so this the hardest weight to lose. I felt amazing on my wedding day and a month later I have maintained my weight because I built up the lean muscle mass....while easing up on my diet. And she's tough - she always pushes me to work my hardest and I feel so good...AFTER I make it through the pain of the session ha! I cannot write enough GOOD THINGS about Sophia! I've been training with her throughout my pregnancy for the last few months (twice a week). Honestly, the hours I spent with her were some of the best parts of my week and now that I'm about to deliver the baby (and stopped training), I really miss our sessions and how they made me feel + look. She's not only an excellent trainer -- super professional, dedicated, motivating and skilled, Sophia is also a wonderful person to work closely with. There is a lot of thought and care that goes into her workouts for each client and her knowledge of all things physical and body related is invaluable. I found myself checking in with her throughout the week, asking questions about meals, fitness, physicality and medical issues! She is very, very generous with her time and more! I thought each class was fun and hard... she never let me skip out of doing something just because it was a little hard to do. I would have to finish the exercises- the perfect kind of trainer. You never want someone to just let you flunk or get through life easily!! Hard work pays off. I will be back in the gym with her when I've recovered from the baby, for sure! Sophia's classes are the best! My good friend began working with her and encouraged me to try her out. I began attending her BodyShox classes and lost about an inch everywhere in about a month. She's personable, tough and best of all, really encouraging. She knows exactly how to challenge you and sometimes felt like a "workout psychic" where she'd work on areas I was JUST thinking about. I can't say enough wonderful things about Sophia. She's completely changed my view on fitness but also myself and my body. She's the ultimate hype woman without being annoying. Sophia is just authentic in everything that she does. I have back problems and feel so safe with her. It was one of the reasons I sought her out in the first place, I know her impressive resume includes training people of all ages and with injuries. Sophia is the only trainer I've had that actually makes working out fun - to be clear I am not a workout person! She'll tailor workouts to how you're doing that day, any soreness or pain.
