I have an oak Mission-style sofa and footstool whose leather drop-in seat and loose back cushions have seen better days after 20 years. Marco was prompt in coming to my place for an estimate, which was quite reasonable. I was told the work would take about 10 days, but it was delivered in 6 days. I was lucky in that a single large skin could be obtained for the seat instead of being pieced together. I am very happy with the workmanship and quality of the leather. I used this place to put a new header in an 83 Cadillac. I had seen on their store sign that they restore interiors in classic cars. I called and made an appointment. They came to my house, and did the job in my driveway as I was at work. I returned in the afternoon and first strike was the workers used an old painting I had in the garage as a work table. When the job was done I met the owner at my house, to pay him, and it looked great, except that they put a screw in the inside headline light housing to hold it up, and it went right through the roof of the car. I didn't notice it at the time, but after they left I washed the car and cut my hand on the screw sticking out of the roof. Called the owner and he said he would pay to fix it, but never did. Cost me $700 to re spray the hood at a body shop. Don't ever use this place! They are not even 3rd rate upholstered. Zero credibility! read more

Excellent service. Marco replaced the foams of my sofa cushions and basically gave my sofa another 10 years (his estimate :) ) for a fraction of the price of a new sofa. I looked online for these foam cushions as well and those reviews were mixed, from excellent to cushions never showing up or taking as long as 4 weeks to arrive. I was looking for a nearby place to have three floating custom covers made to protect the bottom cushions of our new sectional sofa. I only wanted the top covered with four sides coming down sewn into four corners using matching fabric that I already owned. It was a very unusual and specific request and yet Marcos and his team did an amazing job. I had called Sophy's at 9am on a Thursday. That afternoon Marcos came by to look at the fabric, took all measurements and made a template for a tricky curve in the largest cushion. By Monday the work was completed and he was ready to deliver and install! The quality of the work was excellent. The fit perfect! At first I thought the price was a little on the high side but once I saw the quality I knew it was 100% worth it! The results were better than I had anticipated. read more

I was thinking about buying a new dinning room set but just couldn't find anything that I liked as much as I had. The woman at the store asked why I was looking for new. I told her the seats had all become saggy (like sitting in a hole), the fabric worn, dirty and old looking. She gave me the idea to look into re-upholstery. I searched yelp and found Sophy's. To my surprise they just moved into a new store in Whitestone. I called and spoke to the owner Marco and he told me to bring the seats in and hell look at it. I took a ride still not sure if I wanted to undertake trying to "fix" the chairs. I met Marco (very nice guy) and he took a look and showed me exactly why the chairs failed. He got examples of the straps, foam and materials he uses. He showed me a few different types of firmness of foam so I could pick what I liked. He assured me they would not only be fixed, but fixed right. I took a few samples of the new black leather covering I was interested in. I returned later in the day with the six seats from my dinning room. To my surprise Marco said it would be done in a few days if not sooner. I got a call even earlier saying they were already finished! Not only is Marco friendly and easy to work with, but the craftsmanship and quality work is phenomenal! Even the bottoms of the seats that no one sees was covered like new! I went home and reinstalled all the seats and my wife absolutely loved it! I'm so glad we found Marco and Sophy's! Now I'm looking around my house for some other projects for him to work on! read more

I had a little footstool that was in severe disrepair. I tried buying a new one, but it was very rickety and certainly not worth the money I paid. It was returned. So I brought my footstool in to Sophy's and had it both reupholstered and refurbished. In the end it cost less than the new stool, but mine is much, much sturdier - and it looks better too!
