I originally gave them 4-5 stars, but quality has gone down in a short 3 months. You can order an item 3 times in a week, and not once will you get it with the same ingredients. I guess it depends on who's preparing it. If you order a salad and have the option of getting grilled chicken added, don't. I'm pretty sure saw dust has more moisture then the chicken does! The website says their open till 10 but employee makes it QUITE clear they close at 9...we arrived at 8:30 and were treated very rudely by staff stating closing in 30 minutes. We have been to this restaurant a few times and NEVER encountered such RUDE staff... We always enjoyed the food and looked forward to going back unfortunately we won't be returning to be treated like that! I have been a loyal customer for years. i stopped to eat Sunday evening 2/9 with wife and another couple. There was only two servers. Several empty tables on arrival. We ordered two pizzas and a stromboli. None of our items were baked long enough even though we asked for crispy crusts. The stromboli was cold inside and the white pizza was bland. Long wait for drink refills.We are very disappointed at the service and quality of the food on the last two visits. The blond behind the register is totally rude to all. I am so excited to live within walking place of this restaurant! I moved from the Philly suburbs, where I wasn't even close to a decent Italian restaurant, to Central PA - a stone's throw away from this awesome BYO! We've been here a number of times since moving and our experience has been consistent each time: great food and good service. They have the best bread around and the house dressing is awesome. We've loved EVERYTHING we've eaten there. The downsides: this place can get CROWDED and hot and the decor is nothing special. Lol the "brick oven pizza" is anything but quality brick oven pizza. This is basically overpriced football pizza. Honestly, if a large pizza wasn't 16 dollars, and it wasn't advertised as brick oven, it wouldn't be bad for what it is. But this place is advertising pizza as something it's not. I'm sure it is made in a brick oven, maybe even an easy bake oven, but whatever it's made in, it still sucks. We ordered a large pie half mushroom, half pepperoni. When my husband brought the pie home, the topping ratio was more like 1/3 to 2/3. Unfortunately, I can't eat pepperoni. There isn't much located in Campbelltown, but this restaurant is a nice addition to the town. Nothing stands out as supremely different, but all of our food was very good. The wood fired pizza had a good amount of cheese and a nice, crisp crust with good flavor. Our friend got a nice sized antipasto salad that was loaded with meat, cheese, and veggies. The kids meal of cheese ravioli came with 4 large rectangles filled with lots of cheese. The waitstaff was super friendly and attentive. I would definitely return and recommend. read more

Been to this quaint, little BYOB restaurant twice now. First time I was absolutely blown away! Second time, it was just good. Now, in defense of Soprano's my second visit was late on a Saturday, about an hour before closing. They were out of veal, which was recommended to me, and I'm assuming the main cook/chef wasn't there based on the drastic change from my first visit. While the food was good, there was nothing special about my meal. This was a COMPLETE difference from my first visit. I had the spaghetti and clams in red sauce on my first visit and it was, without a doubt, the best I've ever eaten! My wife had pasta a la nona (I believe that's what it was called), which she thoroughly enjoyed as well. The serving size of both meals was mind blowing! Literally ate it for three days. Service was great! Food came out relatively fast considering the place was PACKED. I'll surely be back again and see how it fares. Third time's a charm, right? Here's my rundown.... Wow what a great meal and experience we had tonight at our favorite Italian restaurant! They were busy but our pizza and pasta were hot and delicious as usual. We had the spaghetti Ala Norma which is my all time favorite and a pepperoni pizza. The crust was done perfectly with tons of yummy topings. We get takeout pizza here just about every Friday. After eating Soprano's pizza for a while, nothing else seems as good. Not sure what it is, but the crust (thin), sauce, cheese and toppings all combine into a great pie. Try the "Meadow," one of my favorite "specialty" pizzas. We have gone here for dinner a couple times and the food has always been good home-cooked Italian. A great family spot; always busy on weekends during dinner time, but worth the wait. First of all, there is a soprano's in annville and one in cambelltown. The picture with the red checkered tablecloths is the restaurant in Annville, which is close to Palmyra. while both establishments have good food, the Annville establishment far exceeds Cambelltown both in taste and in super excellent service. One evening around ten-ish, my hubby and I were looking for food. When we saw a couple sitting outside, we assumed the place was open but we found out that the couple were the owners and that they close at 10 pm. We were astonished when the owner not only opened his door, but insisted on making us a fresh from the wood fire oven pizza!! You rarely find service like that. The pizza was great and we have been back there many times since. We have brought our family there often and everything is homemade and the desserts are to die for. Wow! This place is loud! Was in a group of 6 and the waitress couldn't hear me order and I am a loud person. So this is a great place to take the kids. Went here for husbands birthday. Mother in law picked it because they eat here a lot and love it. She had eggplant parmigiana and loved it. Dad in law had veal which he very much enjoyed. Hubby had ala carbonara which is butter and bacon and prosciutto with penne pasta. Which he mispronounced so the waitress corrected him. He said he was happy with the prosciutto. It was cheesy and good. I went with the shrimp in wine sauce. It was horrible. The shrimp was rubbery and the squash was inedible. I have had wine sauce before but this was like no wine sauce I ever tasted. Really, really bad! Do not order this. I should have got the pizza but I wasn't buying so I didn't want to get a pizza just for me. My daughter loves their calamari but it smelled really fishy to me. She said it was good but just the smell made me want to hurl. My son had the spaghetti and garlic bread and liked it but I felt the bread was lacking something especially since it was an Italian restaurant. It was more like something you would get at a diner. I might give it a second chance and get a sub or pizza but overall I was really disappointed since it got such good reviews. read more

Oh my goodness, that was delicious! I am so stuffed... Excuse me. I just returned home after dinner here, at Soprano's. I can't say enough good things about this place. The staff is friendly, the food is incredible and the portions are generous. For my last two visits, I ordered the Pasta Dolcevita (with Penne pasta) and it was to die for. This time I decided to try the Pasta Della Nonna and, let me tell you, I fell in love. The white sauce was rich, creamy and bursting with flavor and the tomato and shredded Prosciutto were the perfect addition to these flavors. You can choose from several pastas for this (and several other dishes) and I chose the Capellini this time. It was heavenly. The waitress recognized us from a previous visit and was very friendly and courteous. i HIGHLY RECOMMEND this establishment if you're looking for some great Italian food. Oh, and if you have room for dessert (which you probably won't), their Tiramisu is fantastic. What are you waiting for? Go. Buy the pasta. Do the thing. Enjoy...you can thank me later. read more

Unfortunately, the food has really gone downhill at Soprano's in the last few months. The meatballs used to be large and homemade, but the ones in the last order we got were tiny and tasted horrible (they seemed like cheap frozen ones). The eggplant was a gloppy mess, like it had been premade and reheated, and my salad had a bruised tomato, a slimy cucumber, and several large chunks of lettuce core. We were just in and sat outside at the tables, no problem we didn't mind that and they took our order right away when they brought the pizza out it was very quick for as busy this night as it was.the bottom of the pizza was burnt and the vegetables on top were running with water ,so what I know they did is a partial baked pizza was already under the counter threw the toppings on and they never really got done but the bottom of the pizza was burnt...Look they call this New York pizza lol,I made Pizza for allot of years and could make one better than this ,their special sauce they talk about hardly any on it no flavor ,the cheese was the only good thing on this soggy wet piece of skin called pizza.The worst part was that they came out to the table and asked if they could make 2 more pizza's we thought then well their trying to make it all better.so they made one pizza a large peperoni again which was no better "wet skin" and the other pizza was mushroom onions and peppers they never remade like they said what they did was piled more cheese and threw it back in the oven the part we didn't eat...wow I don't know how they stay in business go ahead try it but I warned you save your 50 bucks for 2 pizza's and 4 drinks.I won't be back because I make much better pizza at home then they ever could do in this joint,maybe the dinners are better or maybe everybody's just lazy and don't know how to cook, 7/18/2014 table of 6 outside very dissatisfied The Italian on the Hill. I absolutly love this place. The pasta dishes are made to order, huge portions so you have leftovers, and the best pasta I've ever eaten. I go to other areas and are very disappointed witht he taste. The best meatballs and sauce I have had and I've traveled to a bunch of Italian places. From Texas to Louisianna to Maryland to here, I would say this is my favorite place to eat pasta. Although this restaurant has been open for some time this was our first visit. The seating is a bit cramped but the food is outstanding. The Italian Salad was the best salad I have ever eaten. We decided to try out this local Italian place, knowing pretty much nothing about it. All of our dishes were very nice, and we would definitely consider getting take-out from here in the future; the issues were in the rest of our experience. The first table we were seated at got a huge gust of 15 degree air every time the door was opened (which was frequent), so we asked to move over to an open table toward the back left instead. The window was not sealed well enough to keep out the outside air, so it ended up being rather chilly over there as well. The restaurant space is also very tight and difficult to navigate. In this particular instance, the three pasta dishes came out significantly earlier than the pizza, and my friend was left waiting. I would very quickly have overlooked these problems if not for the attitude of our server. At every turn, she gave off the impression that we were inconveniencing her with our requests (such as a refill of a drink, some extra napkins, etc.). All four of us got a very bad vibe from her, and not much better of one from the other employees, either. This unpleasant feeling was enough to make our other grievances feel more imposing, and we all agreed that the food was very tasty, but not worth the setbacks we encountered. read more

The "new" on the menu Greek salad was made with iceberg lettuce (who makes greek salad with iceberg lettuce?) and EGGS. (who puts eggs in Greek salad) and came with a side of what looked and tasted like store bought creamy Italian dressing. I got linguine with Italian sausage and it came plated like it had been dumped out of the colander with not enough sauce that tasted like it came from the grocery outlet shelf. Bland and flavorless. I asked for more sauce which I got but determined that there was no amount of that sauce that was going to taste great or stick to the linguini. THIN. The sausage was left whole (in the sense it looked like it came from a larger coil) but wasn't browned, sliced or anything at all special. I think it may have been steamed or boiled. Seriously. Just two large links of lousy sausage. This is sort of how I make pasta at home when I don't want to be bothered to cook dinner but at least I brown my sausage and I buy better sauce. Looked the same, tasted the same. The side of garlic bread we had to ask for tasted like the frozen stuff I get at the grocery to go with my too lazy to cook pasta. Went in starving and looking forward to a delicious Italian meal. Left starving (it was so bad I didn't take more than a few bites of any of it). I took it home and added more vinegar and oil to what I asked for in exchange for the Italian dressing (that was not enough either) but realized much of the problem is the crappy iceberg lettuce. I sit here eating and am unable, even at home to even make it taste like decent greek salad. The only good thing I can say was that the fresh green olives in the salad were a nice touch. read more
