My parents had lived in Mt Joy for years and had their favorite pizza shop. Nowhere else compared. They have since moved to Hershey. When I brought them pizza, it was always from their old fave. But since I have to drive 30 minutes, the pizza was always tepid by the time we ate. They are not ones to embrace change but today was going to be the day. Palermos's had great ratings and was only 3 miles from them. I ordered directly on the website - they advertise that it's cheaper that way - they're absolutely right. Waze bushwhacked me there and back - traffic was horrendous with families trying to get into the park. Even though I ordered with a specific pick up time, I still had a short wait. I people watched as they came in and out buying individual slices. And the pizza here? Whoa! Amazing! My new fave! I ordered a large Sicilian with mushrooms, onions and pepperoni and a side of fried zucchini. The pizza was absolutely loaded with toppings. I ordered it baked well expecting the crusty burnt cheese on the sides. There was none of that but I would definitely order it that way again. The pizza had 12 large square slices. I struggled to eat 1 1/2 slices. I think I'll order it cut into 16 slices next time. The zucchini was meh at best. It's probably not fair this far east, but I rate all fried zucchini to Pittsburgh style zucchini. This was not it. I wouldn't waste my time on it again. I can't even remember the last time I've had Sicilian pizza this good. I don't know when I'll be back in the area but next time I'm definitely ordering pizza from Palermo's. read more

My husband and I get a large cheese pizza every Friday from a different restaurant. After trying Palermo's, I took an at home COVID test because I couldn't taste a thing. Turns out it was just the pizza. The cardboard box it came in probably had more flavor. If you can't get a cheese pizza right, I won't be trying anything else at your restaurant. We had been here the last time we visited Hershey Park and had a great dinner. My granddaughter has a few allergies and the staff was very accommodating. So we decided to go back last week. I walked in around 6:15 and asked if I could bring in my party of 12 which included 5 children that were very hungry. I was told that they close at 7:00 and they could not serve us unless we wanted to take out. We found another Italian restaurant and had a great meal and spent over $300.00. Stop what you are doing and go here right now! We stumbled upon this place after a fun-filled day at Hersheypark. We were exhausted and starving = getting hangry. We were spending the night in Gettysburg and I was looking for a good place to carb load for my run the next day. WOWZA, we were not disappointed! The Greek salad was so fresh and tasty, like a salad should be. The calzones were ginormous (pic is of a medium!) and we ate them for 3 days. Prices were perfect. I would drive the couple of hours from home to go here again! Forgot to add: The small details are well taken care of here. I ordered cheese with my calzone since the menu didn't mention it. My husband ordered and suggested provolone. The staff came out and asked if I wanted provolone or to stick with the mozzarella that it came with. I said, wow, thanks so much for asking!!! I stuck with the mozzarella and OMG there was so much (cheese is the greatest.) I ordered $70 worth of pizza for a conference group. It was never delivered. Called Palermo's and talked to OWNER who yelled and argued with me for several minutes, saying we put in wrong address. I don't believe that's the case, but regardless we never got the food and owner refused to work with us at all on getting the ordered filled. She was rude, yelled, and condescending. She made no attempt to help me whatsoever. Did not care that we never received the pizzas or that we were out $70. Will never call this location ever again. While visiting the area and spending hours at Hershey World we yelped for a good pizza joint. Ordered XL half pepperoni, half cheese. We picked up for carry out and drove up the street to a nice little picnic area. Pizza was delicious and I would definitely return if ever in the Hershey area again. read more

Drive the extra few miles, you'll thank me later. On to the review...The pizza was subpar, and the service left much to be desired. You walk in and it's quite confusing as the entrance is narrow and people are coming and going. We were told they aren't allowed to pull tables together for our party of 8, so 6 could sit together and the other two could either sit behind or next to us. The place was maybe at 20% capacity. We decided to sit in the back rooms and the adults sat at one table while the kids sat at another table. We were located directly across from the employees children who were playing games, eating food and shouting demands at what appeared to be their mother. I suppose there wasn't a rule against that. The wings were pretty tasty. The margharita pizza looked much better than the cheese pies. My daughter said it tasted good too. So I'd recommend those dishes for sure. After tipping generously we were told we needed to clear our own table. Really??? Why the heck did you take the tip. If I had known that my tip would have been: "get a changing table in your restroom, greet customers with a smile, serve them if you want a tip and thank them for their service upon leaving. Was down here for a Dr's visit at Hershey and we had to stay overnight at a hotel for a morning surgery. After we got back I order from here and got 2 cheeseburgers, a pizza and caesar salad. Great communication on the phone. Cheeseburgers were huge and cooked perfectly. Lightning fast delivery. The only problem was the pizza was greasy and the salad was a little bare bones.
