My husband got a pizza from this restaurant. We built our own and added spinach, green peppers, and sausage. We had it delivered to our apartment and it got here in a decent amount of time. The box was still hot when I grabbed it from the delivery woman. It smelled good too. The slices were a lot bigger than we thought so we were happy with the food and what we paid for it. It tasted good too. We had plenty of leftovers for the next day and we were satisfied with the delivery and our choice. read more

Went for the pizza stayed for the byob. Got a Hawaiian and a cheese pizza and cheese fries. Overall the pizza was good. Cheese and sauce were in portion and the sauce had a good flavor. The crust thickness was a bit too much for our liking but not too much to warrant a complaint. Wine glasses they provided were nicer than some of the fancy places. The fries were probably a frozen product, but very good. I'm a sucker for those crispy fries with a mash potato like center. Can't go wrong with Peppino's. read more

Stopped in here for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look like much from the outside, being that its in a run down mini shopping plaza but when you walk in its clean, bright, and smelling delicious. They have lunch specials that are pretty good but I came here to try one thing that I heard so much about. The Grandma pizza. Its pretty much a square thin crust pizza with sweet sauce, basil (I think) and cheese. Its so yummy! The sauce was perfectly sweet and the basil cut right through and balanced out the flavors. The cheese was bubbly and gooey and not at all greasy. Its definitely a fork and knifer though you could certainly just pick it up and go to town. The service is friendly and the prices are right. I look forward to returning for more Grandma or perhaps something else off of their menu! read more

It's always clean, has great food selections, and has a friendly hard working staff (shout out to Charlie). We particularly like their subs on freshly made bread. Their pizza's are just incredible! It's rare that I would rate a somewhat standard pizza place 5 stars. Only because I want to try to balance out the average reviews. This place uses high quality ingredients, it's really evident in their pizzas for example. Every day they make a number of speciality pizza that sit out in their glass display. I've tried a few and they've all been excellent. Their regular cheese pizza is very, very good with chewy dough and flavorful cheese and sauce. Even their French fries don't taste like regular frozen fries but are actually quite good. Skip Robertos, skip Amicis, come here. read more

Peppinos is awesome. My first experience here was this - I walked in after seeing a review here, and the guys behind the counter were arguing with each other in Italian. Full hand gestures like you would expect ensued. AWESOME. Like walking into an indian place and there you being the only "minority (not indian)." The pizza is as close as we can find to NY/NJ pizza. The subs are hand made and really good (and cheap!). Beyond that though, I would encourage people to get their dinners. The CHicken Modena, franchese, piccatta, etc are all awesome. The sausage and peppers meal is really good. I wish their gravy was a little spicier (meaning more pow in every way, not just heat), but I am guessing they have to tone it down for the masses... read more

This was my first and most likely my only visit here. My girlfriend and I were passing through Camp Hill on the way back from a weekend getaway. We stopped in and ordered dinner and both got salads with our order. When they brought mine out there was a black/gray clump on one of the peppers that was on the salad. I originally thought it was a large clump of pepper that they put on it because I had ordered a little black pepper on it. Then I started to put the dressing on the salad and the clump started to move. Come to find out it was some type of random bug that had made its on way onto the salad somewhere between it being made and coming to the table. Automatically I lost my appetite for a little bit and I pointed it out to our server who was apologetic and brought me a new salad which I carefully inspected. The main dinner was pretty tasty, but it really didn't make up for the bug incident. When we went to pay we brought up the incident to the cashier and asked if we could possibly get a little bit off the bill because of it. He was more than disgusted when we asked him this and seemed very put out that we would even have the nerve to ask it. All in all we got like $5 off because they have a promotion that if you have a bill over $25 and pay in cash you get a 6% break on the bill. That's about all we got out it and there will never be another return trip made there. Overall not a very good experience at all. read more

We went to Peppino's this weekend for dinner. After standing around for a minute or two a woman sitting at a table told us to "Sit anywhere." Shortly, she brought wine glasses (BYOB) water and menus. After taking our order and bring our salads, she disappeared never to be seen or heard from again. A young man working the register had to clear our salad plates and bring our meals. No complaints about the food; above average for a pizza restaurant. We then had to go to the counter for take-out containers and our check. Two stars for the food. We called ahead for take out for multiple people and everything was ready but hot when we got there. I have to say I think I ate the best Italian sub I have ever had before from there. I highly recommend. We also got a tossed salad which we thought would be more of a side salad size and when we opened it up it was over flowing with cut up veggies and they did give a side of bread with oil and vinegar to dip into. The pizzas are absolutely loaded with toppings! And not those little bits they sprinkle on the pizzas at the national chains. This place uses large pieces of pepperoni, sausage, ham and veggies. It costs a bit more than the national chains but it is all home/hand made portions are large and taste great. read more

I love Peppino's. They make their sauce in-house and you can definitely taste the different - it is very fresh and flavorful tasting. I recommend the Caprese or Margherita pizza, both have a good amount of quality cheese (versus drowning in rubbery cheap cheese, like other places) and are pretty garlic-y. Yum! I also recommend the pasta selections. They also have a good variety of cold/hot subs. Everything is very affordable and portions are generous. The restaurant has a moderately sized dining area that is BYOB, but don't expect anything fancy. There is also a take-out area. We came here for a late lunch today. I ordered a mushroom ravioli and my fiancé had a cheese steak with fries that we shared. The service was good and food was decent until about a half an hour after. We both got violently ill, most likely from the old ketchup being served, that we both ate. After a few hours of complete stomach chaos, I regained enough strength to call the restaurant to let them know. The man on the line didn't even apologize and hung up on me. We will NEVER go back. Excellent bread. I like that they serve it with butter and tomato sauce. My mom and I thought it was some of the best cheese tortellini and bolognese sauce we ever had. Maria flits about the restaurant like a sweet Italian mamma, making sure her family is fed. We were visiting the area and went there on a Saturday. At about 8pm the place was pretty much empty with just 2-3 patrons. The upside was that we were paid extra special attention by the staff. The place is quite basic and is located in one of the strip malls. Has 2 sections - one for takeouts and one serving as a restaurant. We got 2 medium pizzas and a salad. Everything was huge - three of us left almost half untouched. Salad was great - fresh and tasty. Pizzas were thincrust (they have both) and also very tasty (though maybe a bit too spicy for kids). The place was clean, service fast and friendly, and definitely a good place to go to if you are visiting the area as we were. Everything was great, but this probably would not be the place I would remember a couple of years down the road - thus giving 4 stars. read more

Seriously the worst service in town. I can't speak much for the food, since it came out cold and in a strange order... Arrived early on a Friday, since we believed that any restaurant might be busy on a Friday. We were a party of 7. Granted, maybe not your average 'party of 4,' but definitely not a party-sized group either. We arrived at 5:30. 32 minutes after we sat down, we were finally given menus and our drink order was taken. We should have left right then, as this was an indicator of things to come. However, at the time, we believed that they just made a small mistake. Parties of 5, 6, and 7 were seated around us. Although they arrived after us, they were already being served food. We hadn't had a chance to order yet. When we were brought our drinks (we are now at 55 minutes since arriving, and we were not a boisterous crowd), we asked the server to please stay and take our order. We were (obviously) afraid of another large time suck. We ordered pretty basic fare, I think. Bruschetta and Carpese Salad to start, a pepperoni pizza. a cheese pizza, and an eggplant pizza. Our pizzas came out in about 25 minutes. We asked about our appetizers, and were told by our server that she would go check on them. 15 minutes later, a woman (whom we learned was the owner's wife) brought our appetizers without an apology, but instead with, "Here you go. It's Friday." We asked her for the check (it's now almost 2 hours after arriving), and were told that she would let the server know. It was then that we explained our situation since arriving, Parties seated, served, and long gone around us since arriving, and that we felt forgotten by the server. The owner's wife disappeared, came back with our check, and said, "My husband wants to talk to you before you leave." Okaay. We thought that perhaps we were going to get an apology, and something along the lines of, "This usually doesn't happen." or "The server is new." Instead, our table of 'look at the brightside of life" was in for another long wait. We really wanted to give them a chance. We gave them more than the normal chances. Then, we waited some more. We waited for this man that never came. After another 25 minutes, gave up and we went to check out at the cash register. The wife said, "Did my husband tell you?" Tell us what? She went to get him. She said, "These are the people." Again, nothing. He took our bill, and told us the charge (full price, by the way, not that we expected anything, but really, that's what we waited for??) Then, the owner walked away. Again....okaaaay. We went home and paid the babysitter much more than we expected to, since we were out much later than we expected to be. Ridiculous. In today's economy, one would think that a restaurant would be happy with people's patronage, and want return visits. Especially patrons who are treated badly, and don't make a huge stink of it, as some might have done that night. Instead, we will never return, we have told everyone we know that asks for restaurant recommendations to stay far away, and chose this review forum to speak the truth. I enjoyed my meatball sub. It was my first time trying this place. I enjoyed seeing all of the pictures on the wall also. THE sauce was just right. I keep trying meatball subs at other places, and the sauce is spicy. I don't eat a lot of spicy food. I don't like it a lot. I wanted to try this place out for a long time. I am glad that I finally got to try it. I like how the worker brought the food over to my table. Sometimes I order a pizza at other places and the workers ask me to get this hot pizza. I have to use napkins on both sides so I don't burn myself. When I told a owner of one of these places about it, he just said that yes it is hot. New owners, not the same. I ordered the veggie pizza and it was covered in green pepper, very little broccoli, very little black olive and hardly any spinach. We will not be back. Asked if old owners went back to Italy and the kid tells me they are from Mexico. Sorry, I frequented Peppinos and knew the owners and they are not from Mexico. Tells me they are now family owned and they weren't before? Get your facts correct. Pizza cost us $50.00 for medium veggie, small Hawaii's and small margarita with half anchovies. Never again.
