I usually see Stephanie or Michelle Nicole for my regular appointments, and if I'm just booking a blowout, I'll often see Moon. I've also booked with other stylists when needed and honestly haven't had a bad experience with anyone there. One thing I really appreciate is the consultation process. I've messaged with my stylist on Instagram beforehand to share inspiration photos and talk through what I'm looking for, including suggestions about what would work best with my hair. Then once I'm in the salon, we go over everything again and make any adjustments before starting. I've never felt rushed or like I wasn't being listened to, and I've never left unhappy with the result. The shampoo and styling experience is always comfortable too. They check that the water temperature is okay, ask if I have any hair concerns, and offer coffee, tea, or water while I'm there. Appointments usually start pretty close to the scheduled time, and on the occasions when they're running behind, I've gotten a call beforehand to let me know, which I really appreciate. The salon itself has a very modern, slightly industrial feel with exposed white pipes, but it still feels warm and welcoming. There's a lot of pop art throughout the space, which gives it a fun, cool personality without feeling overdone. The salon, stations, shampoo area, and bathroom have always been clean and well maintained. Everyone I've interacted with, including the front desk staff, has been friendly and helpful. Booking is easy since you can make appointments online, over the phone, or in person, and depending on the appointment, you can also move it online or call the salon to make changes. I've always felt the pricing was fair for the quality of the service and the results. Parking is usually easy enough, although the lot is shared with quite a few other businesses. Overall, Salon Pop has become my go-to salon. I trust Stephanie and Michelle Nicole with my regular hair appointments, and Moon is usually my pick when I just need a blowout. I was in a bind and needed a haircut in two days because that was my only free day. I was nervous because I've heard that due to COVID, salons were taking weeks to make appointments. Hair Express was easily able to accommodate my short notice appointment request! **This is a professional salon! It's NOT run by students** Barbara was AMAZING! She took the time to get to know my hair care routine, asked where I parted it, last time it was cut, etc. She recommended I cut off 4 inches because my hair was super long and super dead at the end. She also recommended just a straight, blunt cut because I usually just straighten my hair, and it honestly looks so healthy and sleek now! This is located on the second floor of the student center at Hofstra University. I think the price is great for the quality you get. BONUS: They also do nails! So first of all I work night shift and had ONE DAY off to get my hair done. I live an hour away so they were very accommodating and when I finally arrived they were empty so I was seated immediately and she began working on my hair. The problems with my hair were: roots were flat, I had previous bleach from a botched job years ago, my curls were falling FLAT. So I needed a revamp for my hair and omg did they deliver. Below are pics of my hair directly before arriving, I only wet and combed my hair since she does a dry cut and that was recommended to come with my hair brushed. Then after the dry cut, I asked for layers and she warned me about shrinkage which for some people I understand why having shorter hair would be a big thing for them but for me I just wanted my hair to be healthy and finally get rid of the bleached ends. I told her I've never had a haircut before and boy did my hair show it lol. The process: It was a dry cut, I was washed and then they styled the curls with water by sectioning and curling them individually, then was mousse and they scrunched it up. I was dried in the normal way I would dry my curls at home and the end result was amazing! My curls are back to being bouncy and the hair is healthy so I'm very happy! 3 people worked on me simultaneously and they were all nice. Also I came in around 4:45pm and I was finished at 5:52pm. Total was $250 but u get what u pay for and I'm very much happy.

For context I got a botched balayage job from a different salon and came to get it fixed. There's a reason on Hakan's card it says master stylist. He looked at my hair and helped me decide what to do and at the end of the day my hair looks gorgeous. And the service was so good!! I'm astonished.
