I wasn't sure the buff and recoat would be worthwhile on my original and very old floors but they're definitely smoother and feel refreshed in addition to the extra protection I was looking for. Metro Flooring came out only twice--once for the original installation in 2021, and once in 2025 for warranty repair due to plank separation. Second, your response actually confirms an important issue. As you stated, this flooring can be installed either as a floating floor OR as a glue-down system--but not both at the same time. However, during the 2025 repair, your installer glued down planks in an area of what is otherwise a floating floor system. This directly contradicts proper installation standards and prevents the floor from expanding and contracting as designed. After Metro Flooring refused to return and inspect the issue, I had a contractor come out to evaluate the floor. During that visit, the contractor identified that planks in the repaired area had been glued down. I then retained a certified floor inspector, who confirmed in a formal report that mixing installation methods (glue-down within a floating system) is improper and can cause the exact failure that occurred. Additionally, Metro Flooring declined to return to inspect the issue, which required me to incur additional expense to obtain both a contractor evaluation and an independent inspection. This situation is not the result of improper maintenance or misuse, but rather the result of an improper repair that altered how the flooring system functions. I am simply seeking a fair resolution for a floor that failed following warranty work.

They showed us where underneath the floor it is very uneven. The new contractors are saying the reason that the floor from Metro had the problems it did, with the sides/seams coming apart is because Metro did NOT put down the necessary filler to even it out before installing the new floor. On top of the fact that the floor that Metro installed is NOT kitchen grade flooring.  They are totally lying about their claims of the floor problems being due to humidity in the space. If that were so, it would be the entire floor, not just certain sections. I've been saying this since the problems started and now I've been verified and vindicated.  Something needs to be done about Metro ripping us and many others off, and their lies and inscrutable business practices.

The main project was to replace more than two dozen rotting boards and the steps on our 20-year-old deck, ensure the structural integrity of the deck, and jack up a corner of the deck that had sunk a couple of inches. He also power-washed the deck and the siding of the house that faced the deck. We also needed work done indoors. He repaired a door frame to a bedroom, fixed a broken storm door, replaced marble tile in our foyer, installed a missing sliding closet door, and procured and installed beautiful luxury plank vinyl flooring for a bedroom. He communicated clearly with us throughout every project, made suggestions when he saw something that needed improvement, and always checked with us when a decision needed to be made. In every situation, he did high-quality work in a very timely fashion. My husband and I were extremely satisfied when we used BR Flooring in September, 2015 to do our…read morehardwood floors, so when we had a crisis situation in August of this year after a kitchen sink leak, we contacted BR Flooring again to see if they could get the job done! Now, our insurance company had hired a company to repair our hardwood kitchen floors, but after ripping the floor apart, and having us wait for weeks without any progress being made in repairing the floor and other repairs that were needed to be made as a result of the water damage, we contacted our insurance company, and asked if we could get our own contractors. After getting their approval, we contacted Marco of BR Flooring, and the rest is history! Our hardwood floors look superb! The contractors the insurance company had hired had made a true mess in our kitchen, and said they wanted to replace the entire hardwood floor throughout our first level; however, Marco and his team repaired the damaged area, sanded the floors, stained the floors, applied three coats of polyurethane, and finished the floor with a sealant! The floor looks better than it has ever looked before! We can't give Marco and his team enough credit for the superb job they did! We highly recommend BR Flooring--they are GREAT! Another thing, we had searched and searched for an individual/a company to replace our kitchen cabinet that was damaged as a result of the water damage, but we kept running into a brick wall. We spoke with at least five to six people who we thought could help, but time after time we ended up in the same situation. We only needed one cabinet, but individuals wanted to replace all of our kitchen cabinets. One company even suggested that we remodel the entire kitchen, even though the entire kitchen didn't need remodeling. Again, Marco and his team helped us! Marco and his team were able to get our custom-made cabinet, install it, install our granite countertop, and get everything in our kitchen back to its normal state.
