Soul Cafe is a great place to grab a bite to eat breakfast, brunch, lunch. Service was friendly and food was delicious. It is a Kosher-Vegetarian restaurant, they also serve Starbucks. Ambiance is light and welcoming, restaurant also connected to the art studio.

First time trying this place and went with my parents for my Birthday lunch. We all loved the Shakshuka and the salad was good as well. Service was excellent, we will definitely be back, as we can't wait to try more items. Highly recommended.

Booked through Open Table and it was seamless. Our requested outside table was set and ready for us when we arrived. The service was top notch. A perfect balance of checking on us and coffee refills as we spent time catching up with friends and family. The food was excellent. Everyone loved their order. Pancakes "delicious ", french toast with scrumptious strawberry cream cheese and the breakfast potatoes were fantastic! Full bellies without a single complaint. Highly recommend for breakfast.

Ate here today for lunch -- soft launch before their reopening next week. Everything was tasty that I tried. I recommend the pizzas for sure. Really good. I had a blueberry smoothy and also tried salmon sliders. Here's some photos of those as well as other dishes.

It is vegetarian brunch restaurant. Very popular in the community during lunch and their food is very good. Don't let the vegetarian menu scare you to try. They also has a Starbuck shop inside Cons: kinda expensive and portion is small.

It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great - everything was just mediocre. The potatoes lacked seasoning and the avocado toast was minimal and bland. Also, it took us about 40 minutes to get our food while the restaurant was at maybe half capacity.

I had to come up with somewhere special to take my bestie for a birthday lunch. Her only request was make it simple and healthy, so I chose Soul Cafe. First time for both of us. I liked the contemporary scene and there's a cool art studio on the other side where artists are doing their thing. The soup du jour was potato and corn chowder. The other option was French onion and that was my pick. French onion soup at most places is too salty, but thankfully this one was not overly salted. For an entree, we went with the Wild Mushroom pasta and added salmon. Good dish, but the salmon was so thin it ended up overdone. I paired it with the Heirloom Tomato and Beet salad with tarragon dressing. I couldn't taste/find the fennel, but the salad was solid. The pasta also came with a nice side salad and the dressing was a super surprise. They call it green goddess since it contains avocado. I want to put that dressing on everything. Friend really enjoyed the place and said everything tasted natural and homemade. I already have ideas for what I want to try next time I return.

Bad service, quite rude staff. The food was amazing though. Wouldn't eat there again just because how incredibly rude my waitress was.

Food is ok, a bit pricey and service is s-l-o-w when the restaurant wasn't busy...there's definitely room for improvement.

Greeted warmly and seated in the bar area at a table large enough to accommodate our group. The ambiance is very laid back and televisions throughout with different programs showing, including closed captions. Riley was our server and she did an AMAZING job with our large party. She made menu recommendations and kept checking to see if we needed anything. She separated our bills and brought plenty of bags and carry out containers. Riley even was kind enough to take a group photo. The food was freshly made and there is a variety of pizzas, along with burgers, salads, sandwiches and desserts. The restaurant was busy as it was dinner time. It's clean and so are the restrooms. Decor is very on brand and includes Detroit themed sports teams and Michigan college memorabilia. Nice touch. Prices are reasonable and portions plentiful! Nice option for lunch(special menu items) or dinner with family and friends. Plenty of FREE parking!

A friend was babysitting for us tonight and we finally got to try it ... it definitely lived up to my expectations! We started off with the smoked Old Fashioned for my husband - $45 so a bit pricey, but the presentation was super nice - and a cocktail for me. We got the tableside Caesar salad - again pricey, $20 per person and if it's for two people you can get it tableside (which was REALLY cool btw) but if for 3+ people I don't think you can. They literally roll out this huge cart to make it though and it was pretty neat. I had the mushroom pasta with filet mignon tips and it was great; my husband had the sausage pasta which I also liked. We weren't planning on getting dessert (I think, haha - I was pretty full, at least), but we got the tiramisu and the tiramisu drink for my husband (I was driving). Both were very good - the tiramisu isn't large by any means but is enough for 1-2 people. The drink comes with a huge ladyfinger on top. Overall I was very impressed by the food, atmosphere, and waitstaff here - it's not an inexpensive place ($40 for two salads is a bit pricey!) but everything was fabulous, and I definitely want to return at some point. There's also a wine bar next door, I believe, and I didn't know that Prime 29, Nara, and a few other local restaurants are all in the same restaurant group/ownership as Aurora.

When making plans with my friend, I let her know I was in the mood for nachos and pasta. She…read moredoesn't know it, but I have nachos infrequently and only have them with her. We both tossed out options and settled on this location of Aurora (no nachos here). My friend shared that the other location used to be Matter of Taste, a restaurant that sadly was on my to-try list. I loved the ambiance here: florals cascading from the ceiling, plants wrapped with twinkle lights, lush comfy chairs, and servers all in teal velvet jackets. This is the type of place one wants to make an effort for, spending more time selecting that perfect outfit. I had peeked at the menu online before the visit, and there was no question I would get seafood pasta. It had both the pasta that I was seeking and, of course, the seafood that I prefer. The tender linguine was topped with mussels, calamari, shrimp, and clams. My friend had the pasta with organic chicken and speck, in a cream sauce. That dish looked fantastic, as well. I ordered truffle Parmesan fries to start. I enjoyed them with the garlic mayo. She had the arancini in a pool of tomato sauce and fresh basil. We both opted for dessert, crème brûlée for me and a multi-layer carrot cake for her. Service was stellar. Our server shared her recommendations and checked in with us throughout our meal. The only drawback: There was a delay in parking as the valet blocked and stopped every vehicle before allowing those who preferred to self-park in. I think it's their sales technique.
