Notice that they charge more for using a credit card.

I decided to go to Sunny's because of the excellent reviews. When I got there, around 12:10 on a Saturday, every seat was taken and there was a family ahead of me. (They were waiting outside.) It seemed to take quite a while for the staff to even notice that I was there, even though I was the only one waiting inside at first. Then, a lot of other customers came in. Fortunately, bunch of people who had been eating left at the same time. I waited for about 15 minutes to be seated. The woman who seated me was pleasant, and she brought me iced tea quickly. But then, I waited. And waited. And waited. Servers walked by and pretty much ignored me -- which I would think is hard to do in such a small restaurant. Finally, a young woman came to take my order. I ordered a veggie omelette & rye toast. She asked how I wanted it (fluffly, flat or scrambled) and then asked, "That's it?" I said yes. Well, when it came, there were no hash browns and no cheese in the omelette. I eventually was able to flag her down to ask about the hash browns, and she said, "You didn't order them." I pointed out that they were supposed to come with the omelette, but if she took them off the bill, that would be fine. She brought me some instead. The food was good, but nobody ever came back to check on me or to refill my $3.00 iced tea. (I will never understand that, and I really do need to stop ordering it, since I know that it might cost them dime to make.) Since the server had brought me my bill to "prove" that I didn't order hash browns, she didn't come back. I had to ask a different server for a box. I actually wasn't full, but I was tired of being there. When I looked at the bill, I noticed that they charge more for using a credit card (although they call it a discount for using cash). I really despise this new practice. And sure enough, the person at the cash register was my server -- who said something akin to "Hang on a minute" rather than something more professional, like "I will be with you in a minute." I would say that the food is good, although their prices are higher than their online menu shows. But the service was such that I'm not sure that I'll go back. I've gone to lots of small, busy restaurants and rarely do I walk away feeling ignored.

Great breakfast place! Super quick service and the servers are very experienced and have ordering down to a science, they are efficient! Omelettes are fluffier than I prefer honestly, I might not order it again but they are good for what they are. Restaurant is pretty busy but not too busy and definitely not loud. No artwork on the walls so it's a bit bland decor-wise but that didn't take away from the experience! Clean restaurant and I'd be back!

Friendly fast service. Great coffee. We arrived at 1:15 to see that they are opened from 8-2pm each day. The restaurant is small and cozy. There were quite a few patrons there. Within 5 minutes of being seated we had water, coffee and our orders in. 10 mins later we were eating our meal. The fries were well done and crispy just the way I like them. The sausage links well done and dry as ordered. I was told the Blueberry pancakes were just a little under done but apparently that did not affect the taste as they were all gone : ). Several cups of coffee later we left all before 2pm and we were not rushed. Overall a good experience.

Sunny's has been around for years and is a forever favorite... It's small, locally owned, no-frills / super casual, but consistent, dependable, and has a variety of menu options for all to enjoy. I don't really order anything other than a fluffy egg white omelette because it's my favorite and no one does it better than Sunny's. I like mine with spinach, mushrooms and feta + tomato and/or carrots on the side as well as pita bread. Service is super attentive. Coffee is hot. I will be back on my future visits to Michigan for sure!

Huge fan on Sunny's Cafe! Came here when my tire was getting fixed. We tired to find a spot within walking distance. The restaurant was busy when we got there and we were greeted by a super nice server. Not too long of a wait and we were on the patio enjoying coffee. The menu is HUGE! So many yummy things to pick from! My hubby and I went with the lox omelette and the corned beef omelette. You have the option of white and fluffy or original with the yolks. We went with the yolks. You have a side option and toast. The omelette was so fluffy! Omg! Talk about an amazing omelette! I don't think I have ever had my eggs fluffed like that before, but I'm glad I tried them now! Also, love that this breakfast spot is super casual too.

We also had two guests unaccounted for - and Eric was able to seemlessly provide meals for them. His staff was so efficient and friendly. I didn't know it was two restaurants in one. I seriously thought LiveBait they sold fishing things lol. The decor is interesting, not sure the look they are going fur. Next time I would ask for it to be more done. But, it had a good flavors. The pesto was nut free which works well. Lobster roll I want a fan. They used langostino lobster which is not even really lobster, more like a cousin. It said Connecticut style so I was hoping claw meat. The bread was very good. It's one space divided into 2 restaurants, Goomah, the Italian restaurant, and Live Bait, a seafood restaurant. We were given menus for both, though. We ordered a margherita pizza and added mushrooms to it and an antipasto salad. Both were delicious! The salami on the salad was shredded and fried, almost like meat croutons. They used thin slices of Parmesan cheese, and there were red peppers and possibly pimentos, as well as green olives. I hate olives, but my sister ate them. She said there were more olives than she usually sees in salad. The pizza had a thin but nicely crispy crust. All of the toppings were evenly placed on the pizza. Our server, Emily, was very friendly and efficient. There were only a few filled tables, so she took a little time to chat with us, which was nice. Our only real criticism was that, judging by the decor, they don't know what they want to be. There's a collection of rolling pins on one wall, a bank of t.v. sets on another wall as well as at the bar, what looks like a climbing wall (but I'm sure it's not) on another wall, the half walls have designs that look like graffiti, and the restaurant's name is in lights on the ceiling. All of this while Frank Sinatra and other Italian music plays in the background. But, restaurants are mainly about food, and theirs is very good. I am sure that we will be back!
