Beef tips with rice and gravy, mac&cheese, and yams. Cornbread not in the picture.

This is my 3rd time eating here and again I am a satisfied customer!! The first two times I went I had cajun chicken, mac&cheese, and yams. I enjoyed it both times!! Today I got the beef tips, mac & cheese, and yams. Yummylicious!! The food has been fresh and they are not stingy with the portions as I have seen with other places. I hope they never change that because customers love to feel like they have received their money's worth. Believe me, you will feel this way!! The weight on that plate was heavy in the best way!! The picture that I attached from today's visit, I had already eaten out of it so that gives you an idea of how much food they give. My husband has been twice and each time he gets the fried chicken wings, mac & cheese, and mash potatoes. He was very pleased!! I tasted the chicken and it was really good!! How those wings remain so moist and the skin just right always amazes me!! We drive over 40 minutes both ways to visit and clearly it is worth it to us!!! We will continue to eat here!!

Its proper name is Annie B's Southern Cuisine... The food was AMAZING! I brought my friend here for his birthday and Ms. Annie was a WONDERFUL and gracious host! The most sweetest I've ever met. We order the smother turkey wing platter w Mac and cheese, collards, yams and cornbread. Ordered their special lemonades and banana pudding. Everything was delicious and fresh. The wings were very tender and fell off the bone. She made this food with her soul. They moved from the gas station into a storefront. One side is still being renovated but the other side has some seating! Thank you Ms. Annie!!

Soul Y Mex aka Annie B's The Ambiance: I've heard positive reviews and tried visiting in the past, but always seemed to miss it. I recently visited this past weekend and was able to learn the business hours and much more. My Order: #1:Cajun Baked chicken w/spaghetti, Mac n cheese, and green beans: the baked chicken is truly a Cajun dish and I love it, flavor is there with the right amount of spice. The cornbread was fresh out the oven and the owner was super helpful with providing more sauce( not pictured) for the spaghetti. The sauce is top tier. The Mac n cheese was great and the green beans works best for various taste palettes as it is not salty. The whole dish balances well. #2: fried catfish w/ yams and Mac n cheese. My husband ordered the fried fish and he loved the crispy mess. I was able to try the yams and they are super soft with the right amount of sweetness. He and I would both rate this dish very high. Actually both dishes were great, I had no complaints. Drinks: Koolaid We ordered the pink and purple flavor. Both were great. Service: Customer service was stellar. The owner was really nice and helpful. Payment: Payment is quick and easy. Overall I'd recommend and plan to visit again soon

I've been here serval times and the flavor and customer service keeps me coming back every time! If you come here you mussst get a cake they are so good! The banana pudding is delicious but so is the food. My favorite is the oxtails and beef tips. Gotta have the cabbage and yams as a side and the koolaid is delicious too. Not much of an ambiance it's inside of a gas station but it's a great place to check out.

Red beans and rice with yams and green beans. Delicious

The food was seasoned to perfection! They load the plates up with plenty of food. The people there were very friendly and accommodating.

This food was amazing! Reminded me of my mom and aunts cooking which is rare! I will be back for more!

The food is amazing! We came from Dallas and stopped after attending time of celebration church and they did not disappoint. The oxtails, fish, greens, cabbage, dressing, sweet potatoes and corn bread were all made to perfection and then the lemon cake just topped it off. The owner even stopped to chat and check on us. 10 out of 10!

My friend grabbed the Kulture Club Chicken, and I went for the Fried Catfish and Grits. Our waitress, Savannah (pretty sure that was her name), was a gem. She didn't just take our order; she guided us. She told my friend the club had goat cheese and broke down exactly why she probably wouldn't like it if she wasn't into blue cheese. Then she looked at me -- pescatarian, hungry -- and said, "Add the shrimp and get the crab sauce on top." Best decision I made all day. The plate didn't stand a chance. I would've taken an "after" photo, but I cleaned my plate. The staff were also super helpful with parking validation and making sure we were set. Bartender and manager were very nice and social. No complaints here. Place was decent but probably would not go back considering all the newer places in the same area.

The A/C was broken. This is Houston. In June. Ain't no way - so i ordered my food to go, only to find out they only serve in to go containers anyway - okkkkk. I got the catfish plate with red beans, dirty rice and an extra side of greens. The fish was great. Big pieces, well seasoned, fried perfectly - 9/10. the dirty rice was don well too - 7/10. The red beans were ok, nothing special, but not bad either - 6/10. The GREEENS tho.... 1/10. NOPE - never again. Want to start by saying I loved the atmosphere. Loved being able to sit at a bar, loved the music, and service was superb. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Catfish was pretty good. It had the perfect crunch and a plentiful portion so no complaints. Sides were good but not something I'd rave about. The étouffée was pretty solid but the Brussels could've been better. Maybe seasoning them a little more, cutting them in halves, and charring them would've done the job. Peach cobbler was so yummy. I loveeeee how they have offer for preferences with the peach cobbler (more crust, more filling, or neutral) because I personally love more crust. Kool aid was good but could stand to be just a tad bit less sweet with more flavor. All in all if you have a catfish craving and want good vibes and service I'd 1000% endorse this spot.

Downstairs has warmer lights and a kinda delicate feel. Anyhow, Let me just cut straight to it. Honestly I expected more from the food, they were just meh. The chicken wings could do with some flavor and its presentation needs fixing, maybe cut them. The wings were also dry and we had to ask for ketchup so maybe add some of the syrup to it or offer gravy. We enjoyed the oxtail omelet even though a few of my party thought it needed a little salt to boost it. The fried green tomatoes could have a dipping sauce but the famous chilli biscuits were well received. The country Benedict is a fried boil egg. We tried the chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, hot chilli biscuits, oxtail omelette, jalapeño poppers, fried green tomato, croissant French toast, Mac n cheese and chicken fried steak. Of them all, I really liked the hot chilli biscuits, oxtail omelette, french toast and fried green tomatoes. The hot chilli biscuits were sized more like mini pancakes. The croissant French toast was delicious and sweet enough to eat without syrup, which is how I had it. I would get the oxtail omelette or the croissant French toast myself, if I come back. For drinks we tried the Moscow mule and peach mimosas. The peach mimosa was a little medicinal tasting, so I'd recommend the original mimosa.

Good evening, I am a…read moreHoustonian born and raised, and I have been to Grace's more times than I can count. In the past, I have been a huge advocate for this establishment and have recommended Grace's to countless family members and friends. Unfortunately, after my experience today, I can no longer say that I would confidently recommend this restaurant. My aunt came into town to celebrate her birthday and wanted to go somewhere nice for brunch, so naturally, I recommended Grace's. I made reservations for 12:30 PM, and our family traveled approximately an hour from the Cypress/Katy area to celebrate Labor Day together. Unfortunately, the experience started off poorly and continued throughout our entire meal. After being seated, our waiter came over, introduced himself, and then we did not hear from him again for approximately 20-25 minutes. During that time, he did not take our drink order, ask if we wanted appetizers, or even bring the complimentary cornbread. We were literally looking around trying to find our waiter. Thankfully, we were able to get the attention of a manager, who took our drink order and brought our drinks himself. That alone should have been an indication that something was wrong with the service. Later, my mom and aunt ordered another round of drinks. My mom received hers, but my aunt's drink never came. Our food arrived, we ate, finished our meal, and her drink still had not been brought to the table. At that point, my aunt told the waiter to cancel the drink and asked for the check because we were ready to leave. When we received the check, we noticed that a gratuity/service charge had been added. Since there were only three adults and two children in our party, we decided to speak with the manager--the same manager who had to take our drink order earlier. We explained our experience and the issues we had with the service. What was most disappointing was that instead of apologizing, acknowledging our concerns, or expressing any genuine concern about the experience we had just described, the manager made excuses. That response was extremely disappointing. I understand that restaurants can have busy days, mistakes happen, and service issues can occur. What made this experience particularly frustrating was the lack of accountability and customer service after we brought the issues to management's attention. I have been to Grace's numerous times, so I know what the experience is normally like. This was not an extremely busy day compared to what I am accustomed to seeing at Grace's, which made the poor service even more surprising. We drove an hour to celebrate my aunt's birthday and expected to have a great Labor Day brunch at a restaurant that I had personally recommended to my family. Instead, we left extremely disappointed. This was not the Grace's experience I have known in the past, and unfortunately, based on today's experience, I will think twice before recommending or returning to this location.
