I throughly enjoyed my experience at Soul Cycle today. I was able to attend with my Bilt rewards. Everyone was so attentive and kind. The instructor Mel was awesome and inspirational. Other helpful staff, adjusted my bike, shoes and explained how it works. It was my first time at a Soul Cycle and my first time in a looooong time cycling. I enjoyed the lighting changes in the class. I got to blow a candle and make a wish. It really felt special. Thank you for the experience. I've been an avid SoulCycler for years and used to work front desk opening the front desk studio in Newport Beach. I have a firm grasp on the studio rules. My partner and I decided to bring my sister-in-law for her first class, we called ahead to reserve the extra bike. Upon entry the studio manager Lauren Mallozzi was extremely standoffish and rude. Lauren will be the reason I will not be coming back to this studio because of her horrible customer service and inability to articulate an explanation for not permitting my sister-in-law to the studio. Lauren was more focused on her computer, gave me the wrong size shoes and completely lost sight of COMMUNITY/what SoulCycle stands for. I urge this studio to treat loyal customers better. Recently went to take my first class at soul cycle and felt very unwelcome by the studio manager Lauren. So rude and unkind towards me when I was trying to sign up for classes. She rushed through the conversation with me and didn't give me the time of day. Felt like I was talking to a car salesman. Would not come back because my experience with her was so bad. read more

Best SoulCycle I have been to so far! The instructors were great, the room was spacious, parking was easy to find and you don't have to pay. They have 4 shower in the women's bathroom and a spacious locker area before entering the class. When you are in the class you do not feel cramped. Will definitely come back! read more

Love this studio! Being around everyone there gets me excited for the upcoming class. The staff is very helpful in terms of getting me ready for the class (using the locker and setting up the bike). I've taken two classes so far with different instructors and they were both there to make you sweat! The bathroom is a bit cramped, but clean. They have two showers and they have a bunch of different toiletries that you can use while you're in there. read more

It's been 2 years since I've hit a spinning class. I think I was traumatized by last one in a NYC heat wave where the instructor constantly yelled at me to go faster.. This class went much better. You're greeted with a bottle of Smartwater because you're surely going to need it. The upbeat vibe once you enter the studio gets you going and lucky me - SC assigned me a bike all the way in the back corner so I can hide my post-pregnancy butt. Perfect! The already deafening music gets louder once the instructor starts. And what an instructor he is He cycles at a crazy non-human like speed. And he let us do our own thing - not picking on the slow riders. The music gets even louder. Turns into some non-English sounding rap garbage. We're doing hills, pushups on the bars as we pedal. It's crazy hard but it's fun. Mid-way into the class I lose touch with reality. I smell burning candles. The instructor is lighting freaking candles during class? Is this to add to the whole soul thing? The rap switches to club music and just when you think music couldn't get any louder, it does, and at this point am so exhausted with too many sweaty bodies too close together, I flash back to being at Webster Hall in the 90s expecting to see guys walking around with snakes around their necks. I'm getting into the whole endorphin rush and possibly hallucinating at this point. What if there's a fire from the candles? I'm the furthest one from the exit. Oh no I'm not at Webster Hall, fast forward 20 years later and I'm a new mom. Then I lose touch with reality again and I love it. Spending days doing baby talk with my infant, I have escaped mentally for one hour and gotten the best darn cardio workout of my life. Thinking of trying a class? Probably the best cardio you can get but make sure your ticker is in good shape and grab those ear plugs at the front desk as I'm pretty sure I've suffered some hearing loss. I'd go back if the class price wasn't so crazy high. Guess I've got other things to buy now - like an exersaucer for that baby. read more

Love this studio. SoulCycle is a different take on indoor cycling -- blending edm/hip hop beats with dark rooms/candlelight with self-improvement mantras. It's a weird formula -- but it works! Beyond the aesthetics, it's beat riding (the goal is to match the cadence set by the instructor and the music) and instructors stress using the resistance knob (turning to the right makes pedaling harder) to push your limits. The workout is challenging -- for spinning novices and experts alike. You will leave class soaked. (Note: it can get warm -- but I tend to enjoy it. A big bottle of water is a must.) So many fantastic instructors each with their own personality and teaching style. Highly recommend Nicky B, Julianne, Ryan Foley and Alejandra. The studio also has a strong community of riders. Staff is friendly and the studio (and especially the locker rooms) is spotless. The classes are expensive and there isn't much discount for buying in volume. It's a premium product. That's why the towels are uber soft and the place smells better than any gym you've ever been to. Did I mention it's so much fun?! read more

I'm a huge fan of Soul Cycle! They really do an excellent job with setting up the classes, turning over the room quickly, and, of course, giving you a great workout on the bike. I've been to five different locations and Westport successfully sticks to the usual format with a bit more room inside and more parking outside than the city locations. Also, like the other locations, the Westport Soul Cycle is spotless: the locker area, the stuido, and the bathrooms/showers. I took a class with Ryan. He seemed to have a slightly different twist on the routine as most instructors do. I know many of SC's classes feature hip hop or rap, but I'm not sure why an instructor needs to throw out F-bombs. It is supposed to be motivating, but it's not as cool as some might think. Let the rappers stick to the swear words, just keep us pedaling. I couldn't figure out the connection, but he ended the class by telling us the location's first anniversary was coming up and that we should start doing double sessions to get ready. I can celebrate just fine without blowing almost 70 bucks in less than two hours. To top that off, we were encouraged to buy power packs. That's where you pay double for a whole bunch of classes, but you get to reserve ahead of time (although the website doesn't spell that all out for you). I have probably taken classes with about a dozen instructors by now and this was the first time we were hearing the sales pitch instead of the workout talk. I work in sales and I get it, but sometimes you have soft peddle it a bit (pun intended). Anyway, I'm kind of glad that someone told me that Joy Ride offers $20 evening rides and it's right down the street. Instead of paying double per class, I can pay a lot less. read more

I couldn't imagine that soul cycle would be any different from a regular spin class, but I was dead wrong. First of all, the studio has lockers which you can make a custom combo for and inside each locker there are phone chargers !! Then you go into the studio to find a clean towel on your bike as well as cup holders and 2 lb weights stored under your seat. There's someone in there to help you set up your bike and clip you in. The instructor I had was Elle, one of the fittest women I've ever seen and the class was amazing. Pitch dark, bumping music, and a little hotter than usual so you really sweat. My only soul cycle complaint is the prices... 5 classes at $165... Not exactly a college girl budget. read more

Westport is so lucky to have Soulcycle! The instructors at this studio are beyond amazing and motivational. I'm hooked.

I used to love this studio, but since the new Studio Manager (Molly) started it has gone so far downhill, so fast. The staff is clueless and unhelpful. It is no longer a welcoming community. The studio is noticeably dirtier and things are just unorganized. It is clear there is an apathetic vibe from every staff member here. The old managers were great, welcomed everyone by name, went above and beyond. Way to screw up a great thing SoulCycle! read more

Had my first ride at this location. Love The Westport studio. It is pricey (the whole chain is) but you get what you pay for! Vibrant instructors who keep you engaged, push your limits and take your fitness and self worth to the next level. Pristine facilities include showers and lockers. The studio is kept impeccably clean, as well as complimentary towels when riding and hygiene items in bathroom (disposable razors, hair ties etc) I've been extremely pleased with the entire staff-- if your going into your first ride or in the area there's no reason you shouldn't ride here! read more

Feels like one of the studios in the city but better w/parking and amenities. Most instructors are reluctant to turn on the fans. My friend w/asthma has trouble breathing in the stuffy classes, and sorry to the teen girls in front talking about weighing themselves right after class- it's just water. Ryan P (no fans) is a favorite. So much dancing and fun sequencing, the time flies by. Ryan F (no fans) is more serious but a rugged looking favorite. I took one of the first classes Elle (no fans) taught here and was turned off by her asking what the women in Westport do all day, but I should give her another try. Nicky B (yes fans) is my favorite. His classes are some of the most exhausting Soul Cycle I've taken in Westport or NYC. I'm not sure why they don't offer community rides in the burbs. I know it's about trying out new instructors, but should also be about reaching out to people who can't afford $34/class often, even just to fill bikes that would others be empty. Packed rides are so much more motivating. Westport might be a wealthy suburb but there are plenty of students and less affluent types. read more

Visited Westport and while I was there I was told to go to Soul cycle. I had headed about it as there is one in Santa Monica, where I live, but I had never been. I went and many friendly staff members greeted me, told me my bike number, gave me water and bike shoes. Then when I was ready I went into a separate room where all the bikes are. Since it was kind of difficult to snap in and adjust my seat, I was instantly helped by several employees who made me feel good and safe. Once the class started I knew I was in for a treat. It was so hard, but I felt like I was getting one of the best workouts. They blast pump up music, and you feel energy when you do some ab moves on the bike. It is truly a whole body workout. There are even weights! I was hooked after my first class, and ended up taking 3 more. After my last class with wonderful Ryan P, the workers have me a Soul cycle bag as I left. Inside of it were 2 very nice soul cycle tanks! They were so nice and next time I come I will definitely return. Thank you for everything! Best workout place:) read more
