Chris is The Man! "White glove" garage door service, Sound Door Service (SDS) is fantastic. I have a 3 car garage, so this review is 3 times more important than most others. Price: Before hiring SDS I received 8 different bids, and talked to 3 different companies on the phone. SDS's bid was not the lowest or highest price, they were fair. Website and Scheduling: I hired SDS because their website listed fair prices, and the website presents them as dedicated professionals who take their job seriously. If any company puts all their photos and bios on their website, then they are probably dedicated to quality work. I did not get the same impression of quality from lower priced bids (even if highly reviewed on Yelp), and I don't want to take risks because these doors are used daily. The response time to setup scheduling was OK, just should remember these guys are installing most of the day, so have some patience. Quality of Service is Fantastic: Chris arrived on time and very clearly explained all the issues with the garage door openers. There was never any sales pressure, just honest "pros & cons" of pieces to "keep & replace." One of the (2) old doors I scheduled to replace had a sensor issue. Chris looked at it, fixed a broken/open connection in 5 seconds, and saved me hundreds of $$$ that I didn't need to spend on a full replacement! The other old door has a new LiftMaster that I'm very happy with. He took his time to do everything correctly and properly. Chris is passionate about his work and truly provided top tier service that would make anyone happy. The work they provided for me (replacing springs, pullies, and cables) is well-done. After they completed the work I thought I was having an issue with the door and they sent someone out to look at it for no charge. (There wasn't a problem!). I take him at his word but if they wish to avoid future disappointments like this they should get off Amazon until they/Amazon figure out how to properly define their service area and days for available appointments. -- After ordering a garage door opener on Amazon, these guys came up as the recommended installer after I entered my zip code. I can choose from a variety of dates, including weekends, and it shows which dates are already booked, including weekends. I choose my 3 top slots, my favorite an upcoming Saturday. Email from Sound Door Service (SDS): We don't serve your area (despite Amazon recommending them based on my zip code). Another email from SDS: Whoops, we do serve your area. Next email from SDS: We don't work weekends (?!). We scheduled you for an entirely unrelated date, a Tuesday morning. My email reply: Tuesday mornings aren't good, here are a variety of dates/times that would be preferable. Their next reply: ....... (as in they never replied). So, these guys clearly don't want my business and I recommend you don't give them yours either. read more

I received multiple quotes on getting a new garage door. There are definitely some scam artists in the garage door replacement business, so be wary. Sound Door was honest, fast, and friendly. The product they installed is very high-quality (much nicer than the previous door) and I was impressed by the speed and professionalism of the team that did the work. We had sound door replace both of our garage doors. We had to order the doors because of covid. Jon kept in touch with us while we waited. They showed up on time and did a very professional installation. 2 of the panels arrived damaged and we had a glitch with a side door. I had a garage bracket break. I called them in the morning and they came by noon. They only charged me for the service call, not the part. They also took the time to spray WD40 on the squeaky parts so my garage door is much quieter now. Anthony and Baylen arrived right at the start of the service window and were incredibly fast (and friendly) with replacing two torsion springs for my garage door. The estimated quote over the phone matched their in-person estimate, which they reviewed with me before beginning their work. After completion they greased my garage tracks, tested that it could open/close successfully, and posted their contact info near my garage opener in case I need to call them in the future. Their work has a five year warranty on parts and 90 day warranty on labor. They were wonderful and I wouldn't hesitate to use their services again! read more

James came out and secured the garage spring mount that had pulled loose by drilling two new holes and sinking in two longer bolts then realigned the light sensors--short and sweet fix and he was on his way within an hour. Jon gave us wonderful service. He was both prompt and knowledgeable and explained exactly what the problem was before he did any work. We ended up having some sort of bracket that was slightly loose causing the door to not go up smoothly. The repair only took about 20 minutes but he did explain that if we waited any longer to get this taken care of it could have been much worse. Jon did not try and up-sell us into doing anything more than what we needed and mentioned that overall the garage door was in good shape. We just had our 2 garage doors replaced. I was shocked at how much it changed the overall look of our house. It's amazing. We went with the steel insulated door with belt-drive openers and you can barely hear them when opening/closing. So smooth and no sunlight shines through the edges when closed. These guys are great. They respond quickly, get the work done professionally, are very knowledgeable and are just a pleasure to work with. They look at the whole system and honestly let you know what will and may not work. My wood double garage doors were over 30 years old, and rot had set in along the bottom. One of the doors would no longer open, due to warping. I've used Sound Door twice in the past year. The first time was to replace a broken coil spring and the second was to replace a damaged door, both on our house. Both times the folks we dealt with were professional and responsive. I had used another garage door repair service previously that dropped the ball in ordering the part we needed, failed to communicate, and ended up taking several times longer to get the work done. I expected that was just the way it was in the industry but that was not the case with these folks. Their prices were fair, their advice reasoned and I don't feel like they were steering us toward the most expensive option. Very happy with their work. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Pricy. I forgot to ask for a quote over the phone and they charge me $300 for 20 minutes of work to replace two tension springs. I complain to them and they change it to $280. I checked the price of tension springs in Amazon and the most expensive type was about $60 a pair. I had a good experience with them several years ago but not this time. To be fair the first guy was nice and helpful and even told me that they could replace the door for $750 including hauling the old door away. But he didn't have the right spring so another guy had to come after to bring in the missing part and to finish the job. Not knowing my earlier conversation with the first guy the second guy decided to charge me $300. I was furious. Replacing the door and I don't care what kind of door it was only cost $750 and this guy wanted $300 for replacing 2 springs. He was hesitant before quoting me the price so I knew something was not right. Well, maybe he felt like he should charge me more because they had to come back the second time. Anyway, no one is perfect so I won't write them off. I think they do a good job after all, but get a quote over the phone and shop around. read more

Great customer service! Called last Friday, the owner came out same day to take a look at our opener (which was approx 21yrs old) that had stopped working. We having been waiting for the openers to die so I wasn't surprised when he said we needed a new one. Jon explained that he could replace both openers, springs and pulleys and use the existing doors. He didn't try to sell me new doors, but I suggested that we replace the doors as well. He guided me to the best value for the house and purpose. Jon provided an estimate that was emailed to me.
