I took my vehicle they to get my amps wired, the price was kinda high, but I figured they've been there for a long time and they do excellent work, wrong!! I dropped my car off everything worked, he called me and said my radio was bad, and sold me a cheap ass radio, when I picked it up my tweeters didn't work, long story short they did something wrong and shorted something out and tried to cover it up, by saying the radio was bad, they're a bunch of liars, STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHITTY ASS SHOP, needless to say I got it fix at a 100% better shop, sound factory is so fucked up read more

I've had work done on two different cars and both times it was great work, very good price, and I've had no problems with either car. Jose knows his stuff and they've got good equipment. A few years ago, 2014, I needed some custom install work done on my SUV. They did the work and even created a custom mount for one of the units. I didn't think it was going to fit the way they got it but it fit and the mount they made allowed the cooling fan to work better. Summer of 2018 I got another car and wanted the windows tinted. Their tints are all computer cut to an exact size for your car. I got there on a weekday mid day. Didn't wait long and my car was inside. Rear door windows, rear cargo area windows, and back window tinted and done in about 90 minutes. The tint is guaranteed for life. Highly recommended place. I can't comment on other people's experiences but I've sent a few friends there and they have all said they're very happy with the service and prices. read more

I came here to have a simple install done on a pretty common car. It was just a bad experience all around. they completed the job and in the process bent part of my dash board. I received my car back still dirty from the drilling and installation process. A stereo install is going to be pricey anywhere you go. Take the time, research a place and don't go cheap or think you will save money by going to this place. read more

I got my front and rear windows tinted here about a month and a half ago. A few days after the tint job, even though I didn't lean on the window or roll it down, I noticed some small bubbles on the driver's front window near the bottom of the middle of the glass. I returned to Sound Factory and they fixed it within a couple hours. Since then, I haven't had any problems. The tint looks great and there aren't any more imperfections in the tint. I'm sorry to hear that others had bad experiences here, but I did not. read more

Originally got my tint done at oakland hi fi and they have a one year warranty which I'm still under ..the tint has tiny bubbles in the windows... So I come back to get them re done and same thing there is tiny bubbles in the front two windows. I recently had a baby so no time to go back to get them re done so I went last week showed the guy and he say ok come back when you can told him Tuesday ... I call today Monday 2.6.17 and he says they are busy but they have another shop at 4011 international blvd (sound factory) so I call them he says yea ok it will take an hour come on down. Cool. Again I'm coming from sf so there was traffic to get there. Get there and a guy is basically saying it's normal, this is my first time, if he does it again it will be worse ,willing to give me 100$ dollars .. basically trying to get me to say fuck it and him not to have to fix it.. If I could give this business no stars I truly will. I took my car to have the front door windows tinted and left a very unhappy customer. The tint was not all the way to the edges of the window when in the past I've got windows tinted it was. I spoke to the owner and he was extremely rude, unpleasant and not understanding at all. I told him I was very dissatisfied with the tint because it dis not covered my window. He said," It's because the computer cuts it to fit the car model." I said, " I understand, but i would like atleast a discount because this is not what I want." He raised his voice a bit and denied any type of discount. He proceeded to tell me his been in business for over 25 yrs. and never has had a problem. When i clearly can see by the reviews he has had many. I do not recommend this shop at all! read more

I got a stereo installed here a few years ago and they kind of did a hack job on it. I was trying to fit 2 single din units (DVD and a screen) into a double din enclosure and it was partly my fault because I now know there is really no way for that to end up looking good. To make it fit they had to cheaply fab a piece of scrap would with some fabric laid on top to make it fit in the dash. Needless to say that the it came out looking pretty crappy. That's not why I am giving them 2 stars though. There staff is nice enough and I bet they could do some decent work if given more to work with. The reason I would not recommend this place is because I have called for quotes over the past few years a couple times since then and they CONSISTENTLY charged as much as double what better shops are charging for the same work. They get a lot of business because they are located in the heart of E.14th where loud stereos and custom cars/rims are a staple. So if you pass them 3 times a week eventually you're going to go inside. I don't think most of their customers use yelp though. Anyone with a computer should avoid this place and get higher quality job for less money somewhere else. read more

this place seriously lacks customer service. went to get tints on the front windows to my truck; told the staff i wanted my front tints to look like the factory ones installed on the back windows and their professional recommendation that we pay for a 20% tint, although it was illegal. my boyfriend agreed and when he sent me a picture of the final work, the windows were clearly darker and a completely different color. i called the shop write away to ask if it could be fixed, that their professional recommendation was plain wrong. the manager, Jose, was very aggressive and offensive. I asked how we could correct the problem and his solution was for me to come and remove his product from my vehicle's windows. He was not willing to work with me nor did he offer a more customer friendly solution. upon arriving, an angry faced man awaited, with his arms crossed, he walked off and ordered his staff to being the removal. the manager was amendment on making us feel unwanted, by closing the gate behind him which displayed a big sign that said "Keep Out". as his crew patiently removed the tint from the front windows, the manager became frustrated and walked over to the truck and began ripping the tint off my car! when it was time for the refund to be given the manager practically threw the money at the both of us, but not before he aggressively asked for the receipt and tore it to pieces, lol. worse customer service i have ever experienced at a shop like that. so RUDE! i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. rather take my business to Pacific Stereo in Fremont. read more

went to get a pre amp box installed I wanted to put sum beat in my car I paid 550 for a small 10 speaker pre amp box with looked like a deal the guy said it was a good sounding alpine box with amp great I told him I wanted it to sound clear now when the music is low it sounds to basey and when I turn it up louder its base don't hit it just raddels my trunk and sounds distorted in car real bad I will tell you tomorrow if they make good on it if not I'm going to demand the money for the box back not the wiring by law they have to live up to there service you are the consumer make them make it right or they will have to pay it all back in court and pay you your court fees well ill let you know tomorrow read more

This place doesn't deserve even 1 start as a review. Worse fckn place I ever been too. I came to get my windows tinted on my brand new car I got few days ago. They told me that they do a really good job and that the guy had many years of experience under his belt. So I agree to them to do my tinted windows. I drop off the car around 11am and they told me it was gng to take around 2-3 so I told my friend to come and pick me up from the shop. 1 1/2 hrs later from the time I drop off the car I received a call from shop telling me the car was ready. In my mind I was like this was fast. When I picked the car like any of us would do I started to check the quality of tint and how they got it done. Well turn out to be a half ass job they did bubbles all over the windows u clearly were able to see from the outside the lines from the to tinted paper they used. I was so mad and told the lady who helped me I wasn't happy how the tint was install and she said to come back tomorrow. So I came back the next day and the guy who tinted the windows was there and ask me to show him what was wrong. I started to point at each window and told him how bad the job was done. But the MOTHERFCKER had the balls to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the job and he see the job just fine with no problems. I got mad at that moment and told them to remove the tint and to give me my money back because of the shitty ass job they did. i went over to the sound factory to check my 10 year alarm. After they checked my car(free of charge) i found out that my remotes were bad. The Asian guy that helped me was very informative and gave me couple of choices. Either i replace my remote for $69 a pop ( and he was gonna give me 2 for $120) or replace my entire alarm for $190. i choose to replace my alarm and replace my stereo as well. after 1 1/2 hours, my car was done. not only was the alarm and stereo installed, but he spent the time to set all my stations for me and showed me how to use my stereo. after the stereo demonstration, he showed me how to use my alarm and asked if i wanted to changed certain features on the alarm system. very, very good experience with the shop. i will recommend this place to anybody that needs work on their car. read more
