Two weeks ago I bring a 4 mirror dash camera (one mirror mount, right side , left side and rear camera with cigarette plug, bought from Amazon $159.00) to the shop, the sales told me installation fee is $150.00 takes about 2 hours, and persuade me to change from cigarette plug into hard wire.. and ask for $179.00. So I expected the final is $150.00 + $179.00=$329.00. I waited over 3 hours, the guy show me his pc the final price is $150.00x 3 hours =450 hours· plus $179.00 plus tax! What ? I shocked and the guy said wait wait ... you are old customer, I will write off 1 hour... finally I still need to pay $500 something.... Couple days later I found I cannot start my vehicle, I bring my vehicle to dealer, they checked that the direct power connection of the camera is 24 hours working, that's why killed the battery! So I go back to Street Beat and told him this issue, he replied r u sure not to connect with hard wire? Ok, I need to extra pay $99.00 to fix it... Looking to install a new head unit and back seat entertainment system for my 2006 Range Rover Sport. I wasn't going to push forward on the entertainment system because, it wasn't what I was looking for. Later he advised that he had a system with all the newer streaming apps such as Disney+, feature to connect the phone, and head unit to stream the same visuals. Didn't happen. In fact, it was a lot of back and forth because, my purchase was more so treated as a DIY project and not so much that there was experience that they knew exactly what they were doing and how to do it. Which would've been fine if they had stated that initially. I spent a great deal of money and lost out on time for them to work a project they clearly haven't done before. Also, this isn't a shade statement to the installers that do the work who are amazing. This is all directed to the people who run the place. In a 2006 Range Rover Sport the screen dash unit shows the stock feature such as AWD functionality, modes, etc. When m the aftermarket head unit was installed, the stock River screen no longer worked. I asked them what happened and why isn't it on? We went down a tremendous RABBIT HOLE that only took time and money. Nor did they fix the screen for free. That also came at a cost which I disagree with because, it was their guarantee to get everything functioning as normal with the addition of the new head units functionality as well. So just a heads up, their prices are marked up to the highest possible. I guarantee a majority of their products can be found at other businesses for a cheaper cost. SO DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST. You're not getting deals here, I promise you that. I was given an initial set up which days later ended up going out. An error would pop up on the screen that said "CAUTION! AMP OVERLOAD." Then he advised me getting a higher model head unit, which of course I had to pay for. In addition, to get my top screen working they asked for the stock head unit (what if it got tossed out?) and apparently had to buy a part that costs "hundreds" of dollars which I never saw the receipt for, FYI. With all this back and forth, I asked if a discount can be given. For context, I started this project in mid year 2024. So I really did my part to stick it out with them and try to have it work. Especially because this project costs me about 6k. I tried to do a price match on the big name items. For example, JL Audio sells the same amp they sold me at a cheaper cost. I showed them how Pioneer has the same deck they sold me at a cheaper cost. And Mo stated they didn't get the "go ahead" from the businesses (JL or Pioneer) to sell at a sale price. Really? You're a business who bought the product already. What permissions do you need? That was just a big LIE of an excuse. (Got the text messages, too) Fast forward to present day. The backseat entertainment still doesn't have Disney+. At first they stated that they just needed me to stop by to get it fixed. When I called to set up a meet that turned into, "We have to send the hardware back." for an update. Come on.. How am I going to be without a vehicle, yet again? There's way more pressing things in life to address then to be taken down a rabbit hole with individuals who DO NOT have integrity. I couldn't even get a price match on products in which their retailers sold it for. In addition, the install they did STILL BLACKS OUT occasionally. Like I said, what the point of going back when I stuck it out with them for a long time, invested good money, and gave a great deal of patience and understanding. I'll never trust STREET BEAT to do any of my work, especially if it's more complex. I really hope car audio consumers come across this post to watch their back and their pockets. read more

I came in for a complete overhaul on my sound system and swapped my 2 12s for one massive 12, new door speakers, and new amps added. Everything quality and highly valuable. About three years ago Street Beat installed a Viper alarm in my truck. I was very pleased with their work and the Viper alarm. Recently I had a smog check done which disabled the alarm. My Viper was out of warranty. However I returned to Street Beat who took time to diagnose the problem a shorted tilt sensor. They charged me a minimal fee for labor and sold the replacement to me at cost. I was very impressed with their attention to my problem and to their integrity. 2 and a half years ago, I had my speakers replaced and an alarm with remote start. They were super helpful throughout the whole process. I remember being walked through the differences between the same brand of speakers but different models. Heads up, as a musician, I found the mid-grade speakers to have a very faithful treble, and it seemed the more-expensive ones give more bass output for their size. Since I mostly listen to early jazz and podcasts, I didn't see the point in the more expensive speakers. I just went back recently to replace my steering wheel buttons after getting the part from the dealer. They got it done in about an hour. read more

I came here to get my kill switch, back up camera, remote start and beat installed in my truck about three years ago. Everything's been perfect. Until recently one of my sensors started tweaking a lot of places advertise or will tell you that they give you lifetime warranties, but don't always hold up to their end of the deal thank God they mean it when they say lifetime warranty I literally had my car towed to the shop today and within 30 minutes they fixed it no problem. Their workers are very knowledgeable. Danny is amazing. He's the one that installed everything in my truck and when I explained what was going on, he said no worries. Okay I gotta admit - at first I was a little skeptical because I ordered the head unit I wanted, then later that afternoon they told me that they couldn't install that one because of parts problems. Went down there for a refund and Moe was able to hook me up with a better unit for basically the same amount of money. Made an appointment for Saturday after they had my car for about an hour they said they got the wrong part in (wiring harness). Well just today they made up for all that. My radio was installed correctly, Moe added a couple free parts and I drove away happy. They are a good bunch of guys down there at Street Beat. I am still learning how to use this new radio but it sounds 100% better than the stock unit that was in it. THANKS A BUNCH - for everything you guys did. Don't take your car here if you want a quality job! I never stopped having issues with everything they installed.. Interior was scarred on every surface they touched, alarm randomly went off in the middle of the night after only a few months. I constantly had wires coming loose that had to be reconnected. To top it off the materials used were very cheap quality for the premium price that I was charged. Door speakers eventually shorted out from different types of wires spliced together that caused electrolysis. Never had this experience with any other stereo shops that I used before. read more

Man, I have been really meaning to give another 5 star review for Street Beat and now I found the time to do so. Sorry for the delay. As you can see in my previous post, I shared about my old Dodge Charger Daytona and how Sam and his team of experts ripped out the terrible custom car stereo job that was done by a sheisty car stereo spot in downtown San Francisco and how Sam and his team did a beautiful custom car stereo installation. The job was immaculate. The sound is immersive. It's almost as if Sam and the team brought my car to a true show car status (in my eyes and ears anyways). Well, I really needed more work done on my Daytona. Right now, I'm in the process of doing a complete restoration on my old Charger because she's been neglected especially during the pandemic and that I don't really drive her around anymore because I stay home and take care of my mom who's elderly. I noticed that my car alarm was not working anymore. The doors would lock and unlock with the alarm remote, but no sound or chirp. I even tested to see if the alarm would go off if I set it off, and nothing. What should I expect? It was a product that I bought from the same sheisty car stereo spot in downtown San Francisco... of course it was bound to fail. When I found the time to see Sam, I shared with him about the car alarm issue but I also asked if he could install some new JL amps for the custom car setup that he had installed. Back when I first had Sam do the job, I didn't have him change out my 2 old Rockford Fosgates Amps because I thought they would be powerful enough, and I also liked the way they looked, but I was wrong. They may have looked nice, but the sound coming from the new speakers sounded at times as if they were under water. I should've changed them back then but "live and learn". Anyways, Sam hooked it up. I got a new Viper Car Alarm and he recommended 2 high-powered JL Amps. This was also an opportunity to have Sam do a tune-up on my sound. It also gave him a chance to dyno mat the vehicle to keep the sound from escaping. And since I'm currently in the process of restoring my vehicle and do some slight modifications, I asked if Sam and his team could install some custom RGB "Halo" headlights for me since I knew they would do such a clean installation. They were able to do it all with no real problems and, man, I gotta say, they look beautiful. I'll post some pictures for you all to peep. When I got my car back, I was extremely happy with the Viper car alarm that Sam chose. It does everything from informing me if the car is being tampered with and also has auto-start. After Sam's team did a tune-up on the sound and dyno-matted the vehicle, she sounds so amazing. The installation of the 2 new amps is beautiful. I asked Sam if he could put the Street Beat logo to let everyone know how proud I am of the work that was done and surely, he did. The plexy glass which encase the amps has the "Street Beat" insignia. 4 words to describe everything: Bee You Tee Full! Thank you again, Sam!!! You and your team have always gone beyond the call of duty for me and my family and friends that I recommend to you. I promise to stop by after I get the Daytona done at EBC. =) read more

Probably the worst buying experience I've had in 2019. In short, the workmanship was shoddy. They installed my radio and back-up camera. I'll try to chronicle most of what happened without being too wordy. 1. Salesmanship: Two salesman were super helpful and honest. They gave sound advice and weren't pushy. However, a red flag did go up. As the salesmen/technician consulted me the owner introduced himself. He was friendly. But he told the salesmen to "sell the product first, then talk about price later." While this sounds like a good sales tactic, I thought it was odd that he would say this out loud in front of a customer. 2. Price: I was charged $500 to install my radio. They charged me for five hours of labor at $95/hour (three hours to install the radio and two hours to install the back-up camera). I later learned that Best Buy offers a full year of car audio installation for $199. The owner assumed I had bought a Tesla-style radio and said that it would take a long time to install so he quoted me $500 (5 hours of labor). This was wrong - the radio I bought required no mounting or additional parts. Just simply take the old radio out and properly plug the new radio in. After recognizing this false assumption, one of his store managers stepped in and negotiated a better deal ($300 to install the radio and $200 to install the back-up camera). 3. Workmanship: a. The radio I bought did not need a bypass i.e. a device that enables you to watch DVDs and switch bluetooth users while the car is in motion. Yet, they installed this part and charged me $60 for the part. b. Also, the back-up camera was not installed in the rear license plate frame. The technician said that it was too difficult and that wires would be exposed. So, he recommended that I attach the camera to the bumper. He assured me that it would look clean. Instead, he used a piece of black duct tape (which eventually fell off) to attach the wire to the bottom of the bumper. Now the wire is fully exposed and can easily be snipped effectively disabling the camera. c. My car was not put back together properly e.g. interior moldings are not flush. d. I had to return a week later after the installation because the microphone was not picking up sound i.e. bluetooth hands-free calling didn't work. They were too busy to do research and so after a 20 minute inspection, they told me that they didn't know how to troubleshoot. e. The sound quality of my Bose speakers was worse after they installed the new radio. They said this is common when you buy an after-market radio. They recommended that I buy a new amp (this would cost at least $300-400). I went and got another opinion and was told that the radio should've sounded the same or even better with the after-market installation. I'll update this review with photos. Looking at other reviews customers have had great experiences here. However, I definitely took a loss and regret not going to Best Buy where technicians can be held more accountable. read more

The way the first guy messed up the initial install made it really hard for these guys to figure out what the problem was. Have been a loyal customer for years & sorry to say they've lost my satisfaction & business. First off, a 2-3 hour wait turned into 3-4 hour wait. No biggie, I would rather the work not be rushed anyways. When I came here 4 years ago for my last stereo install, they advised I needed a new box for my 2 12's. Went ahead and got the new box as suggested. Years later, I return on Sunday 9/30 with a car I just purchased on Saturday 9/29, not even a full day later. Just purchased a Mustang and the trunk is very narrow which called for me to again, get a new box. The box I purchased a few years ago was brand new with no damages whatsoever. I was hoping they would allow for me to exchange my current box or I can pay the difference, but no. Okay I get it. Also, I guess it was lunchtime as the tech was eating and working on my car at the same time. Very professional. I finally get my car to find multiple scratches and 1 big paint chip on the driver side near the hood. Mind you when I had just got the car not even 24 hours prior, there were NO exterior damages, scratches or chips. This is highly upsetting as one of the reasons I chose this car is because how perfect the exterior was. So upset. I will not be returning. read more
