First time coming here. They do smart start for breathalyzer in my car. I figured I would come here since it's so much closer then the one in mastic. Person who was helping me was beyond rude and had no clue what he was talking about. We bring in the breathalyzer which they need to calibrate it and the guy tells me he doesn't need it. Like are you kidding? Then he tells us to pull around back and was so rude about it telling us not to block their door and there is no where to park and snow all over the place. Then He stands at the door just starring at us were waiting for him to come over to tell us what's going on, and he just stands there till I got out of the car then says it's gonna be a while. Which it take the people in mastic no more than 15 minutes. We just left because it was ridiculous how this guy had no clue what he was doing, and just so rude to us. I came here and liked the salesman and their prices. They had all the good stuff for a decent price. So at 3 PM I hand the guy my new Center Dash kit. I give my car in at 3 PM for him to install my center Dash navigation system. Now when I handed it to them they couldve said are there any other pieces with this? but no. they waited until 7 pm to call me and ask if I had the brackets for the mount. Im glad they waited 4 hours to figure out I needed the brackets. Why didnt they ask me right then at 3 PM if I had the bracket? Anyway, I go there at 7:30, They were trying to improvise putting in my new navi system and when they couldnt do it I just told them to put the old piece in because they were taking way too long messing around. 1. They wanted to put the new navi piece in without brackets so it would slide around and probably break ( 465$ navi system ). Real professional. Then the guy has the NERVE to say "Oh would u mind if I just leave the new dash in?" So i said no put the old one in and he gives a smartass reply "Oh what do u need to do, sing?" I said no I want a radio in the car. They get done close to 8:30 at night. I had them put rims on and thats all I paid for. After they put everything back, My horn DIDNT WORK... My heat light button on my car didn't work either. Not having a horn is a REAL safety issue and im annoyed I didnt have it. VERY NEXT DAY, A cab driver cuts me off and I slammed right into him. Why? because I didnt have a horn to warn him that I was driving. I was going 40 mph not even fast. Yellow taxi driver too ( they are the worst ). So I called them up later and cussed the one guy out because I was furious. The idiot says to me "U should give us a chance to fix the horn" Well 1 u shouldve fixed the horn when u put all the original pieces back instead of trying to get out of there quickly. So they installer calls me back and TRIES TO BLAME ME BECAUSE HE SAID I WAS THE IMPATIENT ONE AND IT WAS MY FAULT THAT THE HORN WASNT INSTALLED PROPERLY. They handed me the key, When I was in my car, They Closed and they were all in their cars and left. Don't go here. Needed a radio harness for my car to install a radio I bought I looked online did my research for a good month so I knew how much it would cost. When I told the guy what I needed he found it said it was at there warehouse and told me it was going to cost 200 that's with the wires and the whole radio harness I need but I found it online over 20 places for 40$ but I played dumb and told him that was to much and he called the warehouse back was talking to the guy he then came back to me and said 170$ so clearly he was trying to rip me off I told him it was still to much money and that's when he became rude with me told me not to waste his time if I don't have the money to spend at that point I got pretty mad and just left I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy they rip people off left and right I also bought what I needed for 40$ online and had no problems installing it I don't understand how there still in bissnuess read more

We purchased a full alarm system and automatic start from them in 1/09. It was installed after having to upgrade sensors and costing alot of money. Since then we have had problems with no starts. Had a new Honda checked by the dealer to see what the problem is as we replaced the battery three times. Told by Honda that it was hooked up wrong and that was causeing the problem. Notifiied sound trax that it cost us $466 from Honda to find out it was installed wrong by sound trax. Honda disconnected the alarms. Sound trax said there is nothing they can do but reinstall the alarms. Why would we want to do that after it caused us so many problems? I think better business is the next step. read more

Upon arrival I couldn't help but feel uneasy about leaving my car in an overcrowded parking lot. My husband assured me that everything would be fine. I ended up leaving the car for an auto start. When I returned to pick the car up I waited in my husbands car with my sleeping baby. They installed the auto start and then left my car on the side street (Lake Grove Ave.). As I sat in the car waiting I heard a terrible noise. I looked and sure enough that terrible noise was my car (in the street) getting hit by a snow plow guy form the business next door to sound trax!! As I searched for my phone to call my husband to tell him to get out FAST my car was hit, it got hit 2 MORE times!!! I had no choice but to leave my baby in the car and run over to get this guy to stop and get out of his truck. Had I not run over I'm pretty sure he would have driven off. I called the cops and got my husband on the phone and told him to get out the car was hit. He was just finished paying the $200 and some guy Bruce was telling him how to operate the remote start. My husband said to Bruce "I gotta get out there someone hit the car". A Cop came about 45min. later and Bruce or anyone for that matter (4-5 technicians that saw it happen as well) ever came out to see if they could help or even apologize for leaving my car outside their parking lot and in the street where this happened. Believe it or not the owner of the business next to sound trax waited with us and disconnected the wire harness holding my fender flare on and then duct tapped the fender piece underneath which was hanging off hitting my tire in order to prevent more damage as I drove home. So I ask...... Does Sound Trax have ANY business MORALS or ETHICS when it comes to customers?? ummmmm NO! The short of all of this is........ I dropped my car off in MINT condition and picked it up busted and smashed with over $5,000 in damages!!!! read more

Grand Prix Sterio across the street from Sound Trax scratched and dented my fender during a simple radio entenna base installation. I payed an auto body shop hundreds of dollars to have my fender repaired. The auto body shop installed the antenna base incorrectly which caused the antenna mast to lean forward. They said that was the best they could do. Through this mess, Tim, the owner of Grand Prix Sterio, refused to pay for the repair and refunded just $60.00 !! Hundreds of dollars spent and a crooked antenna later, I went to Sound Trax to see if they could straighten the antenna. A technician named Lenny told me to pull the vehicle into the garage so he could take a look. He said there was a missing part causing the antenna to lean. He found the part in his storage and repaired and straightened the antenna to perfection!! I can't express how pleased I am with the service I received. Lenny not only took care of my vehicle then and there without me having to make an appointment, but did an outstanding job as well !!! Thank you Lenny! And thank you Sound Trax! read more
