This review is not for the hotel itself but the general facilities - restaurant, piano bar, and summer ball. The food here is great and I posted a separate review for the restaurant. The Summer ball is a must do yearly (though, sadly it was canceled last year). And the piano bar is very cute and has friendly s. Everything at this place is beautiful, clean, and has amazing views. I'll include some photos of the facilities. I am very curious about staying here!

We decided to do a staycation for 2 nights here. We knew greenport was similar to montauk with accommodations. High prices but the rooms typically aren't luxury and could use updating. So we were not surprised by our room. For us it had what we needed. It was clean, comfortable beds, a bathroom and a fridge. The view is the sunset was awesome basically from any room. They offered free breakfast in the morning which was simple but nice. The pool was very large and was clean. They had tons of towels to use and even floats. Sadly our second day was cold and rainy so we didn't get to use the beach and pool as much as we had hoped. We didn't get to experience the pool shack for food. We did visit on a weekday so the main restaurant was closed. We had a very limited menu. We ate outside the first night and next to the piano/bar the second. Food was pretty good. Tuna tartare, clams, lobster roll and burger were all very good. Chicken Cesar was not good. Very dry. They had kid options also. Highchairs were always available when we needed. Great wine menu. They had a few couches overlooking the water. Lobby had a little area to shop and the staff was extremely friendly. Valet parking available.

This place really needs to do better..the rooms are so old and need to be updated. The smell and the carpet alone omg. The view and the restaurant saved our mini vacation..how can u have such a great restaurant and then have these rooms to come back to. Do better..atleast get another area rug. For the price jeez

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights (although we booked through Airbnb and saved a little $). The room was large and spacious (junior suite). Every room overlooks the bay and has a stunning view. There are first-come first-served beach chairs and umbrellas so you can walk off your deck and sit right on the private beach. There is also a pool and you can rent bicycles - neither of which we used on this trip. Continental breakfast is included. It's simple and not over the top but it serves its purpose. Honestly it was nice to see their spread instead of what you see at other hotels (bagged scrambled eggs, for example). This was hard boiled eggs, cereal, danish/croissants, yogurt. Bananas and apples. They had almond milk for any dairy allergies. We dined at the restaurant Halyard on our first night. It was an incredible meal, but I'll review that separately on their Yelp page. We sat outside which was hot as first but then we got to watch the sunset while dining so it was worth it! The room was clean and stocked with a full mini bar of drinks and snacks, which we didn't buy, but it was nice that it was there lol. Parking is free and it's onlya 5 minute drive into downtown Greenport. This is the perfect location!

    Stained couch

For such an expensive unit i expect more. I agree with one of the reviewers that the room feels more like a worn down cabin. The couch was dirty which we didn't touch at all. The balcony and views are very nice. The pool was clean and large. The biggest issue we had with this place was that the website says rooms are accessible and do not show stairs to some of the units. Overall this place is way overpriced for the quality. I wouldn't recommend the king suite - the balcony is semi-private with tarps separating each unit and bathroom is microscopic. The regular room gives mostly the same experience with a shared deck.

The Soundview Motel was built by the Levin's on Greenport shoreline in 1953. The motel was recently purchased by the Eagle Point Hotel Partners firm based in Manhattan from what I read. The Motel has seen since the new acquisition upgrades on their bedding, pool furniture and other various areas. We lodged on the second floor of the motel which had a large outdoor deck overlooking the Long Island Sound. The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and the weather was perfect for our three-day stay. I believe that the new owners will eventually be remodeling the Motel once they have a better understanding of the area.

An Absolutely Exceptional Stay -- Silver Sands Is Something Special…read more My wife and I spent three days at Silver Sands celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary, and although this was our first visit, it certainly will not be our last. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the experience was exceptional. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. What impressed us most was how incredibly organized, attentive, and welcoming everyone was without ever being intrusive. It was almost as if the staff had mastered the art of being there exactly when you needed something, while somehow remaining nearly invisible the rest of the time. That level of service is very difficult to achieve, and Silver Sands does it beautifully. The property itself is immaculate. The grounds are meticulously maintained while still allowing the natural beauty of the surroundings to remain part of the experience. The private beach was spotless, peaceful, and beautifully organized. Throughout the day, we would notice staff quietly moving through, straightening and maintaining everything, yet they were so unobtrusive you could barely tell it was happening. The attention to detail throughout Silver Sands is remarkable. From the design and atmosphere of the property to the pour-over coffee in the room, the thoughtfully selected shampoos and conditioners, linens, amenities, and overall cleanliness -- everything feels intentional. Our room was absolutely impeccable. Silver Sands somehow manages to capture the nostalgia and charm of the classic American motel while feeling modern, sophisticated, and luxurious at the same time. Calling it a "motel" almost doesn't do it justice. It is a truly unique property that can easily rival some of the best hotels and resorts we've stayed at. And then there are Eddie's and Nookie's! Both onsite restaurants were fantastic. The staff and service were wonderful, and everything we ate was top-notch. We left already talking about coming back so we can try more of the menu. Over our 31 years together, my wife and I have been fortunate enough to travel to many beautiful and far-off destinations. Yet there were moments during our stay at Silver Sands when we genuinely felt transported somewhere else entirely -- certainly not like we were still on Long Island, and at times not even like we were anywhere in the United States. It has a special atmosphere that is difficult to describe until you experience it yourself. Thank you to the entire Silver Sands team, as well as everyone at Eddie's and Nookie's, for making our 31st anniversary one of our most memorable, relaxing, and enjoyable staycations. You helped make an already special occasion even more special. We arrived as first-time guests and left knowing we'll be back and bringing others to experience what we had. Thank you again, Silver Sands. See you all soon!

Everything around here is small, personable and locally run -- adding to the charm of being out on the east end. Your options are a smattering of bank breaking bed and breakfasts, hard to acquire airbnb rentals, cottages by the golf course and a motel with one of the best views you've ever seen. The blue inn falls somewhere in the middle of those choices. Our room reminded me of a cozy ski lodge rental. Small kitchenette, exposed wood beams and a pleasing country decor. Rates were extremely reasonable (about $150 midweek off season). Everything was very clean and they even left us a surprisingly nice toiletry package with toothpastes, floss, makeup wipes, Q-tips etc. It's the little things like this, which I wasn't really expecting that really added a nice touch. Our stay was pleasant, however the noise level deserves a mention. There were folks staying on both sides of the room and at night I could hear bits of conversations about who knows what and both of their TVs blaring incoherently. Thankfully our neighbors weren't night owls or I would have not gotten any sleep. As for sleeping - the king size bed was cozy and mushy. I liked it but its probably to soft for most. Unfortunately, the restaurant and pool were not open but I wouldn't have minded checking both out had I been here during the summer!
