I had a reservation booked for many days ahead to watch the world cup, we arrived and were told to sit anywhere, we did, 20 mins into the game we were told to move because someone "reserved" the table. We were not moved to a different table, not a single apology. Specifically a staff member (blonde lady wearing a black dress) was extremely rude and snobby. Also if you are looking for a fun place with cool people this is the last place to be. This is where rich people with no idea how to use their money go to be seen. Every transplant from Ohio and buttfuck nowhere are here, and they suck. Never seen more horribly done Veneers. Three Aperol Spritz's costed 90 dollars. For what it is, it's great! My family and I come here about once a year. The price is good and the pool is clean. It's about 15 minute walk into town. The staff is very friendly. They upgraded us today bc they had the up grade available... the rooms are clean with a historic look , a small marina where you can pull Up your boat... we love it here! read more

A quaint hotel, restaurant and marina in Greenport, NY. A must stay for tourists visiting the area. It's close enough to the village you can walk or hang out by the pool during the summer. They are renovating rooms. Those they have done are beautiful. The area is quiet. Certainly a peaceful location to rest and relax. If you want to find something more lively you can walk or Uber to the village. Check out the local wineries while visiting the area. They all have such wonderful character. The owner of Townsend Manor Inn is a local, born and raised in Greenport. Scott has a wealth of knowledge of the area so feel free to ask him if you happen to bump into him. Is a Beautiful hotel nd clean with free breakfast very quiet nobody bother you. I recommend this hotel.

Unfortunately, I couldn't be more disappointed in my experience. I was there overnight and arrived on a Friday afternoon. I was told my room was ready. The hallway was musty which I understand is part of the charm for a home built in 1835. The room had old furniture. Not antique old but worn in areas where it shouldn't be. The bathroom had hairs on the shelving along with powder that was not cleaned off the vanity, floor, and sliding door. There was no soap dish and. O new roll of toilet paper or tissues. These are all issues especially during COVID. read more

My son gave my husband and I a gift of three nights for our 50th wedding anniversary in September of 2019. Nice clean room, beautiful area, delicious breakfast. We didn't use all the days. Had one left. Covid happened, other stuff. For our 54th, we decided to use the remaining day. Called, made a reservation. My husband got sick, and it was after the ten day cancellation period, which we were not aware of, so we forfeited the remainder of our gift certificate, $286. When booking the rooms the lady was very helpful over the phone. We booked two rooms. Was looking for a pleasant stay with nice staff. Check in time is 2p, we went a little early to checkin. The lady was extremely rude and told us check in was 2p and to come back. We came back, and she was still rude. We asked if we could put a hold on the room with a credit card like most hotels, not here. She handed over the keys and told us where to go. I wish I got her name.... We were in the gingerbread house, could tell it was out dated and both rooms were on the 2nd floor. Rooms were on small side but fine as we were not planning in being in the room much over the weekend. We received two keys to the room, both had the room number on the key however one was different and would not work...the shower was broken and we were unable to adjust. Luckily when we checked out, we got the pleasant lady... You get what you pay for, think about what you want and what you are looking for. It was a short walk to town, so there's that. read more

I am 60 years old have traveled the world and this is the second worst place I have ever stayed in my life. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, the room was old, dingy and dirty and there was a dead bug in the coffee carafe. The beds are too soft for good sleep and blankets and sheets need replacing. This place is an expensive dockside dump. $220 for a tatty roadside summer hotel with multiple 18th century vintage buildings with smelly threadbare carpeting, buckling faux wood ceilings and dodgy lighting that flickers on and off as you move around the room. Best part of room 20 was the fridge and the water pressure in the shower. If for some you're you find yourself stuck here, don't count on much sleep. Set on a finger of the Greenport harbor, the moored boats were quaint during the day. But as the sun set and the booze flowed among the boaters and their guests, a ruckus ensued long into the night. read more

Stayed here for the weekend for a mini-cousins reunion. Having grown up spending weekends on the North Fork, we knew what to expect when booking the Townsend Manor Inn (which, I surmise, most of the reviewers did not). We stayed in the Gingerbread House which is adorable and perfectly run-down. Our room reminded us of our grandparents house in Southold - a touch of nostalgia for us! The bathroom was brand new, beds super comfortable, and there was ample space - a mini fridge, microwave, and toaster, full-size ironing board, plenty of closet space. Everything was clean when we arrived. Bonus! We had our own little porch and rocker. The pool was large, clean, and - in mid-July - mostly unoccupied. Like our own private pool! The best part is its location - very short walking distance to all that downtown Greenport has to offer. Also just a short drive away were the Lavender farm, East Marion orient park, and the Hellenic Snack Bar (must have their lemonade!). Helene, the receptionist on duty the day of our departure, was incredibly sweet and accommodating. We had checked out of our room but had some shopping & eating still to do. We had some items with us that needed to stay refrigerated and she was more than happy to help us. All that being said, I took off one star for the TURD of a receptionist who I suppose works the night shift. She was cold, at best, during check-in. First of all, the desk closes at 10pm and she started calling us around 9:30pm to see when we would arrive (at which point we were 1 minute away). Once we had arrived, we were telling her how we used to come here as kids with our grandparents and what it meant to us... even if you don't care you could at least fake it. Hospitality is your job, right? The following night we were returning during dinner time (when the parking lot is full of restaurant patrons) and could not find a parking spot. Being paying guests, we thought maybe she could help us out. She clearly did not care and told us to park on the street. Which was not at all a problem, but her attitude was. Get rid of that (I'll say it again) turd and you'll get my 5th star. Shout-out to the lifeguard who let us swim for 5 minutes before the pool closed and to the waitress who recommended an excellent pizza place when she saw us frantically "yelping" late at night! read more

Absolutely great weekend at the Townsend. Our first time here. My parents booked us this magnificent room- So spacious, comfy and clean. Room 50. Had lunch and breakfast here and the food was great. Staff is wonderful. Pool and harbor are a nice view. I can walk to church- right next door and the beach is a very short drive away. We are coming back next year for sure! read more

The intrigue of the historic 160 year old building quickly loses its charm when the room toilet clogs and the guest has to go downstairs to use the public lobby restroom. There is no security card key like the modern hotels and the retrofitted wall air conditioner is a little ineffective to create the desirable temperature. If you think about the $300+ per night rate for a moment, these short comings are no longer charming but a sign of inadequacy for the price range. Significant update, upgrade and remodeling is necessary. Putting a $300 Samsung flat screen TV in a room that has the same nightly rate charge does not qualify as an update. read more

Was extremely disappointed in our stay this weekend. Highly overpriced for this outdated rooms. The comforter looked like it was taken from the attic and the bed skirt was ripped and hanging. Paying the extra for a king bed and fireplace was a joke. This electric blower was almost pressed against the bed. I was so disappointed in the very highly expensive hotel for the rooms. The place is very run down and as soon as you walk in the front door screen is broken!!! For 10.00 you can fix the door. Take it out of my hotel price. The front desk is horrible!!!!!! Not accommodating at all. Very very very bad attitudes and had not helped us at all. Would not stay here ever for the high prices that they charge. The only reason this place gets a star is because of Christy's help. We were coming up here one evening so that we could use the beach/pool facilities, check out the beaches/town the next day. We did that. It's quiet, close to town (a short walk). There was a dirty towel in the bath tub, but we didn't even ever get to use it. The next morning we packed up and turned in our keys early and headed for the beach planning to return to the pool that evening. We drove 3-4 miles to the nice beach we saw on the north side, only to be told there that it's private unless we have a beach pass from our hotel. So we drove back to get it. This is when we're told without a touch of empathy that we are not privy to that pass as we are no longer "active" guests. All morning we search with a 2 and 4 year old in the car. We're told by a police officer that there are no public beaches in Greenport, Long Island. They took a little weekend getaway and turned into a bunch of tears and disappointment. Much later, Christy said she could swear there was a public beach. She lead us down to Fifth Street (a long drive) where we found what appeared to be a little beach on the bay. She would not give us a beach pass even with our licenses in trad so this was our only choice. (Do they think we'd leave without our IDs for a Greenport Beach pass? The beaches are unbelievably rocky anyway!) Christy was nice to go out if her way but I would not recommend this place to anyone as most of their servers appear to have serious attitude problems and should be in another line of work. read more

The only positives were that the bathroom was new and beautiful, the room was clean, and the water pressure in the shower was good. You can hear everything going on outside and in other rooms, the buildings are dilapidated, it's not in the greatest location, and it's way over priced. While the people at the front desk were nice, they weren't particularly helpful or available. If I had paid $80 a night for the room, it would have been sufficient and as expected, but for over $200, they need to get their act together. Stay anywhere else and you'll probably be happier. read more

I found this place the day before New Year's and it was perfect. I loved the throw-back feel of the property. Staff were very friendly, room was clean, bed was ridiculously comfortable, flat-screen TV with ESPN so I could watch the football games that afternoon before going out. Love that it's an historic home built in 1853. Love that it has a pool with a snack shack. Also love that it serves breakfast and it's a 10 minute walk to town. Stayed their this weekend and was grossed out this morning when my water glass was dirty with someone's lipstick stain in the rim of the glass. Did bring to management's attention before leaving. Hopefully they will not be so laxed with retraining the high school kids that work there over the summer. Great spot for family vacation! read more

I stayed here recently in early september and I totally disagree with the rest of the reviews. The bathrooms were beautiful and newly updated, the beds were super soft and comfortable, and we had a nice flat screen tv. I thought the pool was nice, and it's very large with a lot of sitting areas around it. One major complaint was the windows shook and rattled with the wind, so that was a bit noisy. We had the gingerbread house which is near the street, but we found it was actually very quiet. I thought the rooms were beautiful and the hotel was only a few blocks to downtown Greenport. Not sure how this would help review for peak season, but we very much enjoyed our stay here. read more

Speaking to earlier comments: I am currently staying here and if you want a Hyatt then you should stay there. This place was built in the turn of the century, so of course it is going to look old. It is charming!! My bathroom is brand new, so is my balcony and everyone has bent over backwards to help me with whatever I need. Clean, clean, clean, my kids love it and it is convenient and rooms are good size. For the price this place rocks. Oh and beds are comfortable and it's quiet too - although we are here during the week. read more

This is the worst "hotel" I have ever stayed at. We booked two rooms and were placed in different buildings so our party was split up. They couldn't put our rooms together or near each other even though we booked months prior. They did nothing to accommodate us. Then the alarm in the building was going off for hours. We went to the front desk (in a different building) because there is no phone in the room, and the lady did not have any resolution for us. She proceeded to text the manager, not call him. The manager said we can shut it off when it goes off (it went off every 5 minutes). We asked what they could do for us, but again no resolution. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! read more

A very comfortable family run hotel in the historic village of Greenport. We enjoyed the outdoor pool and the convenience of the bar for a nightcap and the restaurant for Saturday morning breakfast was convenient. The room had new carpeting and a rebuilt bathroom that was very nice. The buildings were historic and the one with ornate woodwork was in need of an expensive paint job otherwise it would be a 5 star. For about half the price of the other Greenport hotels it`s a nice weekend without breaking the budget. read more

Our experience: Awoken Saturday 6:45 AM by garbage truck pickup; Unable to sleep Saturday evening as boaters congregating on dock until 1 AM; Awoke Sunday morning 7:30 by boaters starting their day and engines; Broken coffee maker in room; No hairdryer in room; Very quaint but small room, with remodeled bath. All this for $225 plus tax each night - wished we stayed somewhere else. We just stayed here last weekend for a friends birthday celebration. We had 4 rooms all of which were very clean and nice. The staff was very helpful and let us check in early (1pm instead of 2pm). We stayed in the main house. The hotel was fantastic, the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because the dining area was not open. I know it's off season, but a small menu or somewhere to get a cup of coffee and something to eat would have been nice. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The hotel is old and charming and was close to town (a healthy walk on a very cold night). We had a blast and would definitely come back again. read more
