An Absolutely Exceptional Stay -- Silver Sands Is Something Special…read more My wife and I spent three days at Silver Sands celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary, and although this was our first visit, it certainly will not be our last. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the experience was exceptional. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. What impressed us most was how incredibly organized, attentive, and welcoming everyone was without ever being intrusive. It was almost as if the staff had mastered the art of being there exactly when you needed something, while somehow remaining nearly invisible the rest of the time. That level of service is very difficult to achieve, and Silver Sands does it beautifully. The property itself is immaculate. The grounds are meticulously maintained while still allowing the natural beauty of the surroundings to remain part of the experience. The private beach was spotless, peaceful, and beautifully organized. Throughout the day, we would notice staff quietly moving through, straightening and maintaining everything, yet they were so unobtrusive you could barely tell it was happening. The attention to detail throughout Silver Sands is remarkable. From the design and atmosphere of the property to the pour-over coffee in the room, the thoughtfully selected shampoos and conditioners, linens, amenities, and overall cleanliness -- everything feels intentional. Our room was absolutely impeccable. Silver Sands somehow manages to capture the nostalgia and charm of the classic American motel while feeling modern, sophisticated, and luxurious at the same time. Calling it a "motel" almost doesn't do it justice. It is a truly unique property that can easily rival some of the best hotels and resorts we've stayed at. And then there are Eddie's and Nookie's! Both onsite restaurants were fantastic. The staff and service were wonderful, and everything we ate was top-notch. We left already talking about coming back so we can try more of the menu. Over our 31 years together, my wife and I have been fortunate enough to travel to many beautiful and far-off destinations. Yet there were moments during our stay at Silver Sands when we genuinely felt transported somewhere else entirely -- certainly not like we were still on Long Island, and at times not even like we were anywhere in the United States. It has a special atmosphere that is difficult to describe until you experience it yourself. Thank you to the entire Silver Sands team, as well as everyone at Eddie's and Nookie's, for making our 31st anniversary one of our most memorable, relaxing, and enjoyable staycations. You helped make an already special occasion even more special. We arrived as first-time guests and left knowing we'll be back and bringing others to experience what we had. Thank you again, Silver Sands. See you all soon!

Everything around here is small, personable and locally run -- adding to the charm of being out on the east end. Your options are a smattering of bank breaking bed and breakfasts, hard to acquire airbnb rentals, cottages by the golf course and a motel with one of the best views you've ever seen. The blue inn falls somewhere in the middle of those choices. Our room reminded me of a cozy ski lodge rental. Small kitchenette, exposed wood beams and a pleasing country decor. Rates were extremely reasonable (about $150 midweek off season). Everything was very clean and they even left us a surprisingly nice toiletry package with toothpastes, floss, makeup wipes, Q-tips etc. It's the little things like this, which I wasn't really expecting that really added a nice touch. Our stay was pleasant, however the noise level deserves a mention. There were folks staying on both sides of the room and at night I could hear bits of conversations about who knows what and both of their TVs blaring incoherently. Thankfully our neighbors weren't night owls or I would have not gotten any sleep. As for sleeping - the king size bed was cozy and mushy. I liked it but its probably to soft for most. Unfortunately, the restaurant and pool were not open but I wouldn't have minded checking both out had I been here during the summer!

The grounds and buildings are well-maintained. We had a second-floor room with steep stairs; no elevator. Breakfast is all carbs, only on weekends when we were there in mid- May; the restaurant was otherwise closed. The room has a small table with two kitchen chairs. There is no desk or comfy chair. The bathroom sink has no space to put anything by it. In our room, the toilet valve had to be manually reseated after every flush, and they couldn't fix it for the four days we were there. We might have changed rooms, but that seemed like a bigger pain.

Not all people calling are from NYC but locals. How do you answer a phone and have an attitude when someone is asking questions about the facility. WOW. Shocked! She needs to find another job and be more hospitable and personable. If they deal with perspective bookers this way I can't imagine how they handle real problems and issues. I got nicer treatment from their sister facility in Montauk.

After the third party site contacted the property I was assigned a partial sea view when I arrived. That partial view was very lack luster. Walls are very thin.. it sounded like someone was in our unit but it was the noise from the surrounding units. The beach is very shabby looking .. The young male pool attendant with the dark curly hair was a sweetheart (very polite and sociable young man) Most of the other young staff were rude and dismissive. Called about a later check out since 5pm is the check in and 10 am is the check out .. I literally asked DEVIN (front desk) for an additional 20 mins and said we would check out at 10:20 but I was told "No unfortunately you and your party need to be out by 10" SHEESH Smdh .. I will say my family did enjoy the mobile pizza truck that they had there giving out complimentary fresh pizza on a Monday and also they had an outdoor family movie that I thought looked nice. The pool hours are also too early .. it's august and they close the pool at 7. Overall I would NOT stay here again or recommend it. It does not seem as if customer service is a priority for them!
