Premium care tailored for you I had a very pleasant experience with Dr. Thakkar at this office. I came to visit him because of significant hearing loss in my left ear due to a unknown cause. After visiting a number of urgent care clinics and virtual doctors with little to no luck, he listened very patiently to my concerns as a patient. Firstly, he went to remove any excess ear wax built up in both ears then did a sound study in a separate room. In this examination, he played a ring at the same volume in each ear, plugging the one where sound was not sent to. He then showed me the results on a computer right after. The chart stated that there were no vibrations in my left ear and suggested that there could be debris lodged in the ear canal. Having a visual to better understand my situation was in incredibly helpful. This doctor was incredibly patient and asked great questions throughout the whole exam. Probably one of the most satisfying health care experiences I've had in recent memory. I'm a 71year old retired engineering exec and have had my share of hearing problems over the years. My long time ENT recently retired, and when I suddenly developed a sudden drop in hearing in one of my ears, I was left without having anyone to turn to. After an extended Google search I was fortunate enough to locate Dr. Anish Thakkar and my experience was amazing. Not sure where to start, but the fact he offered to accommodate me immediately, even on a Saturday was just the start. Dr. T is great! A bit out of the way for me, geographically, but 100% worth it. Nice office, easy parking, easy to get an appt (he does custom earplug molds on Saturdays, or at least he was there the Saturday I went). He walked me through every step from wax removal to mold-making, took the time to explain what he saw inside my ears using a giant-inner ear diagram on the wall, answered all my weird or specific questions, listened to me and engaged with me in a way that some doctors just won't do. He made me a set of customs for playing drums and another set for swimming/surfing. Took about two weeks to get them. Pickup was simple and quick b/c he's communicative and reachable. Have used both of sets and they're great. Musician plugs cut sound evenly from high to mid to low. Swim plugs fit real snug and didn't come out despite getting repeatedly clobbered by significant waves over the weekend. If I need more custom plugs I'll definitely go back. I recommend 100 percent. read more

I called several audiology offices with five stars in the surrounding cities but Dr. Thakkar was the only one who not only returned my call himself, but listened to my situation and recommended specific care. Although I am not a patient of Dr. Thakkar because I have Kaiser insurance and I have to go to them. Dr. Thakkar answered all my questions thoroughly and even gave me recommendations for my profession as I am a dental hygienist and I constantly hear drills and loud noises at work. Usually for these phone consultations doctors charge a fee. But that was the not the case with Dr. Thakkar. I now have an audiologist I would recommend and go to myself if I change insurances based on the attentiveness of his phone call. Sharing my experience with Dr. Thakkar. I had an appointment and waited almost 25 minutes before being seen; not very surprised as is the case with many Dr.'s offices. The Dr. was friendly and looked in both my ears then asked if I ever had my ears cleaned; which I have not. Both of my ears were cleaned with a water and hydrogen peroxide solution. The Dr. shared that I had wax on one of my eardrums, which was expressed somewhat dramatically. I was shown the wax once removed and it appeared to my unprofessional eye, like a tiny speck of blood. My ears felt clogged and I forgot to then ask about the reason I had came in which was crackling sounds I hear in my ears when I yawn. I wanted to pay with my HSA, yelp shows this office takes insurance however, I was told, "didn't they tell you we can't take HSA"? I don't think he realized that he was the one that made my appointment the day before, nor did he remember that I was coming in due to hearing crackling sounds. I did not receive a receipt of any kind and paid the Dr. directly because the receptionist was at lunch. Today after the clogged sensation ceased in my ears, I still have the crackling sound when I yawn. Also, don't assume, like I did, that going to an Audiologist means you are getting a hearing check as well as that is not the case. I will now make an appointment for my issue with an ENT and probably avoid using YELP as a metric for Dr's. read more
