So I brought my brand new 2025 Tesla Model 3, to Soundz Plus for a single 10 inch sub install on October 27th, 2025. They quoted me $3,000 for the entire setup, and made me pay a non refundable 50% deposit ($1,500). It took about 2 weeks of them trying to get a date setup for me to actually bring the car in, so they can actually start the work on it. During those two weeks they kept saying "parts are still coming in and we are wrapping up another project currently". Boy was I in for a wild ride... Once the said "parts" came in, Brian (the owner) said that it would take two days for the install to be completed. TWO DAYS. Those two days turned into 2 weeks and I was pretty fed up because well, I didn't have my car for two whole weeks! I told Brian I had to get my car because It's been too long without it, and I couldn't keep getting rides from family members and friends to places... So after two weeks from October 27th, Brian said I could come pickup my car but it wasn't finished... First time seeing my car in two weeks, the sub and amp were installed but nothing was wired up, so I couldn't actually here it. The install did look very clean though I will give them that. Brian told me to come back a week later and he'll finish it up! "Okay no problem I said." I was very lenient and nice to him up until the last part, where he just needed to wire the sub and amp up. I CONSTANTLY called and messaged Brian almost everyday since I picked the car up, trying to figure out a day to bring my car in so he could wrap up the wiring and ect... This went on for a solid FOUR WEEKS... FOUR WEEKS BRO. I would call and text him "Hey, when I can come drop the car off to you so you can finish the install?" He would respond with: "Hey Tom, can you bring it next week Monday?" And I would say "Sure, no problem!". So we had a date set right? Yay!!! That Monday comes around and Brian calls me saying "Hey Tom, so I got caught up with some other work and we will have to move the date further..." "Okay... that's fine, what other day can we do then?". Brian says "Let's do next Wednesday for sure." I say "Okay cool sounds good! See you then." Can you guess what happened after that??? Yeah same sh*t... for FOUR WHOLE WEEKS he kept coming up with excuses upon excuses to keep pushing the date back. Come around to the final week (week 4) since I initially picked it up, roughly around November 13th, or 14th only half done, and he is still doing the same thing. Pushing the date back and coming up with excuses. I was EXTREMELY lenient and nice to him throughout this entire process until week 4... I'm not a mean guy by any means and I try to be nonchalant and very understanding, but holy cow I couldn't do it anymore with this place. I sent him a longgg message saying how unacceptable this is, and how unprofessional this is from a business stand point. He messaged me back saying how he's "very sorry" and promised that he'll get me in "next week" so that would be week 5 at that point. He even offered to comp the entire install so I wouldn't have to pay for anything. At this point, I did not want to even bring my car back to him, in fear that he would hold it hostage again for two weeks like he did before... I ended up going to another shop called "EPIC Garage" that was not too far from soundz. They finished up the wiring job in a few hours and it was working perfectly... Brian at Soundz couldn't fit me into his extremely busy schedule for a few hours? During those 4 weeks?!?! I don't get it... I know this is a huge review, and I could ramble on and on about this for days, but I'm gonna end it here by saying: Do not bring your car to Soundz Plus. I'm not sure what is going on with this company, but this was extremely unprofessional and ridiculous. It should not take that long to install a sub system especially when I paid a $1,500 deposit. *If you want a good, reputable garage, go to EPIC Garage in Sugar Grove, Illinois. After spending closed to $4,000 here for my 2005 MERCEDES SL-500 convertible, my sound system was incorrectly installed and drained my battery each night (very technical oversight or sloppiness on the install). After two weeks of frustration, drove to a competitor many miles away to have someone who took pride in their work diagnose and fix the problem in one business day. That retailer then told me I was SIGNIFICANTLY overcharged by SOUNDZ PLUS. Be very careful here, I am sure at times they do good work but I did not have a good experience and I am furious I overpaid for shoddy work. Call/visit multiple car stereo stores before you make your decision. And most likely the best retailer is not the closest one to where you live. read more

After having intermittent problems with my rear camera I was referred to Gilbert at Soundz Plus with the intention of having them install a new camera. There I was told by Gilbert that although the camera might be bad, there could be other factors causing the periodic black screen and that he would prefer to rule out other causes in the event the camera was not the problem. After spending time diagnosing, checking installation and making a couple recommendations; Gilbert said to drive it for a period of time and see if the problem persists .. no charge! After following their recommendations, I found the camera appeared to only act up during wet weather, Gilbert asked that I bring it in and he would further check to ensure the problem was not moisture related. Again I brought it in while Gilbert and his technicians sealed around the camera and wiring to ensure the problem was not moisture related. Because of this experience I will be a lifelong customer of Soundz Plus! Prior to seeing Gilbert I had been told the problem could be software related, bad camera or radio, faulty installation, bad sensor, etc.. Gilbert could have sold me a new camera, but wanted to ensure the camera was bad by ruling out any other potential causes. All he asked is that if the camera needs replacing I give him my business! I've been trying to get Apple car play in my 2014 Honda Accord without losing back up & lane assist cameras. I could not find a radio that allowed me to keep the cameras & other factory amenities in the car I wanted to keep. After researching several car audio installers I chose Soundz Plus for an install on my new Wrangler. I emailed them with a detailed list of my wants, Marty Deane responded and we had a short back-and-forth to tune the component selection. I went to their site to meet them, discuss the components and finalize the deal. The install proceeded as promised and the final cost was actually slightly less than Marty's estimate. Marty and the Soundz Plus team was responsive to both email and telephone during the entire process. I had a couple reservations in going with Marty after seeing some negative reviews here on Yelp: I was concerned about the price changing from the estimate and being up-charged for things missing from the original estimate. I also really had no significant references other than Yelp and a Google search. I compared Marty's prices to online prices and he wasn't the lowest cost but the upcharge from online was nominal and I felt Marty had a brick-and-mortar business to run so the slight price delta was worth it to me in supporting a local business. In the end my fears were unfounded: Marty reduced the price of a couple things because his cost was slightly lower than estimated and you can't tell that any work was done in the Jeep. My goal of leaving the Wrangler look "unmodified" was met and the system sounds great. My audio snob buddy got in the car for a demo and was blown away by the clarity at high volume -- one of my primary goals. Had an issue with my fob after replacing batteries, couldn't figure it out, contacted viper, also dealership couldn't find the valet switch. AUGUST 2018 UPDATE: I took my car here a second time. The work is amazing just like a few months ago. I ended up getting a different car that had different problems. Again, I worked with Daniel and he was willing to work with what I needed; speaker mount fabrication, tweeter mounting, and partial install. I opted to finish the install myself and they were willing to work with that. Tweeter mounts ended up looking really nice and the speakers were mounted properly. I love their attention to detail and is the reason why I choose Soundz Plus. I don't care about price, as long as the job gets done properly the first time. Daniel has always been a great help and is open to follow up calls. Both occasions, I had to call back to make sure what was done particularly and Daniel had all my questions answered. Come here if you want your audio done right! Feb 2018: I took my car to this place and it was the best choice I made. I have enough knowledge to connect aftermarket audio efficiently, but my car was something else. I did a partial install and got stuck due to molex plugs and other complications. I worked with Daniel and he knows what he's talking about. This place is open to doing installations with you. What I mean by that is; they'll work with you on whatever it is you need whether it be routing some speaker wires, drilling holes, or custom fabrication for speaker brackets. This place knows car audio, but most importantly is passionate about it as you are and is willing to work with you to achieve the sound that you want. Even after I received my car back, I ran into more issues and called Daniel back. Right away, I got a timely response and was successful with my install. Keep in mind that I had my own set of speakers and they were still willing to work with me. Many other shops I called wouldn't do work because I didn't purchase product from them. Receiving one star because I could not give negative star rating. Simply put BAIT AND SWITCH. Was given a price at the store of roughly $800 for everything. Came home and found it on line at ABT with everything and install was $685 they agreed to do it for $695. I live close so it made it worth $10 bucks not to drive to ABT. After he took my credit card the "Computer Crashed" and will have to call me back. Had someone else (not original sales person) call me back and now price with a great discount was roughly $875. After I said do not bill my card this is unethical and hung up they called me back for a third time and now were willing to match what I was quoted in store, but not the online. First took my Suburban here back in '09, Marty hooked up a backup camera that was installed in my rear door lock. The price was right and installation was clean. Next car was my LS400; once again Marty and team worked their magic then completely gutted the factory system and installed an all new system. After contacting them about tuning my Audison Bit One HD, Daniel spent time assessing the issues to understand what I wanted and how to best approach the tune. Steve, who tuned the car, did a superb job. I've been trying to get the sound right for a year, and he addressed the image staging, phase, time alignment, and related issues perfectly. Not one issue with it at all. My only knock on this company is that they have several different versions of their hours posted online. Because of that we ended up bringing our vehicle in for a drop off an hour earlier than they opened.
