Absolutely amazing service! Must read!!! I brought my car into Streetlegal about 4 years ago to get tinted out. Recently my back window started to show age and a few bubbles along the heat strips and called the shop to address the situation. I was told that everything was covered under warranty and scheduled an appointment for later that week. Upon arrival, Rigo did a walk through of my car with me addressing all areas of concern that I had and took the car in for repairs. I was told that it would be completed in about 4 hours so I left to get a few things done. About 3 hours later I got a call stating that everything was good to go. This is where it gets interesting and where I totally recommend these guys!!! As most car owners know, you value your investment and know it's every inch. The morning of the retint, I washed all the windows, highlighted all areas of concern I had and pointed them out to the manager. Upon picking up the vehicle, I noticed an inch long slice in the front passenger tint. How could I have not seen that before? Idk! I thought that it was from their team and done during the installation as I was having a front windshield banner installed that day as well. As I addressed it with Rigo (and not in the greatest of ways as I was heated), he pulled up the cameras and patiently allowed me to review them. From what I saw after nearly 30 minutes of not blinking to ensure nothing was missed, it was undetermined if in fact his team did the damage or not. I felt bad at this point. Prior to leaving the facility and talking to Rigo, he would not let me leave or pay until he could address the situation and make it right. Regardless of not being able to take ownership of the issue, he stepped up and did. He owned it and demanded that he be allowed to fix it free of charge. I was not only ashamed but amazed at his cool demeanor and willingness to step in. I left the car that afternoon and allowed them to take care of the additional window. The next morning I swung by to grab the car and pay the bill. Not only was my car parked inside overnight but looked to be washed as well. The windows look great and will definitely be recommending these guys for all tinting needs. Well done! read more

Total douche bags called on Tuesday to get a price on window tinting and set up appointment for Saturday The guy answered the phone said you don't need an appointment to be there at 9:30 I was there at 9:25 with other customers standing outside and they're looking at us like freaking idiots totally unprofessional open the doors. When I told him I was there they said he need an appointment and they wanted to know who I talk to I said I didn't have his name they were rudest people I've ever dealt with don't go here.And instead of saying we can get you in next week or something they just look at me like it was a f----- idiot . read more

UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. I had many choices for window tinting, but because of the location I decided on Street Legal. When it came time for the service to take place Miguel was extremely rude to both myself and my husband to make a choice on the shade. He informed us multiple times with a tone "do you want darker or legal". We only wanted to make sure we made the correct decision for our vehicle and would have no regrets on tint that we chose. He left us making a decision that felt extremely rushed. Also, why would you offer your customers a service that you know was illegal? We both were extremely unexpressed on how he spoke down to his customers. I was going to place service that same day for our other vehicle to have a remote starter installed, unfortunately that will not be happening with Street Legal due to the pompous attitude Miguel displayed; and other reviews also demonstrate his level of rudeness. My nephew had an auto start installed. After his entire electrical went nuts! Determined by my mechanic it was from the auto start! Spent 7 hours without a car, got nothing but attitude...not an apology! Had to install a totally new system. Nothing but grief. He lost a days pay, towing, and no apology. They SUCK! read more

I recently chose Street Legal Audio to upgrade the audio system on my classic 1972 Cadillac Eldorado. I am very careful in who I allow to work on this particular car and was very hesitant to use any aftermarket parts. The owner, Miguel, took the time to speak in detail with me, and came up with an upgrade plan that worked out very well. They did the work promptly and even went out of their way to make some extra adjustments. The finished product is exactly what I had hoped for. I called and asked if they could do an install and they advised yes, but by appointment only. And that the work would take 1-2 hours. So I arrive for my scheduled appointment and they tell me I need to leave my car all day. Umm what's the point of scheduling an appointment if all I do is drop off my car for the day? These guys are great!!! I bought a police scanner and were able to hook it up behind the dash so I wouldn't use my cigarette lighter. If you want someone who knows about their stuff ask for Rigo. Had a remote start installed on my wife's car here they were more then helpful I was in and out the same day haven't had any problems. I do see a lot of people commenting saying their batteries died probably because they leave the heat on full blast when remote starting the car it takes a lot of juice so keep your fan on the first or second setting and you should be fine read more

What a bunch of lying idiots!!! Spent $600 on a remote car starter that gave us a year of complete hell!! 3 days after it was installed the car wouldn't start because the battery was dead. Took it back several times and this guy blamed everyone but his junk that he installed. After a year of run arounds we had it taken out and have not had one single issue with the vehicle. Now we have a $600 box of wires and this "shade tree" electrician won't issue a refund. If you're thinking about going here, run the other way! I wouldn't let these guys change a lightbulb! Had a new (expensive) remote starter installed on my new 2019 pick-up truck. Unfortunately, did not realize that one CAME WITH MY TRUCK (Some Responsibility on me here). My Dealership told me that they would have Obviously seen that there was one in place when they installed this one (and, a REPUTABLE COMPANY would have told a customer this). But, Not Street Legal. Instead, they did the install, which, like the other reviewer that gave an honest one-star, had LOTS of Electric Problems (Battery Dead the next day). Two months later, when the Key-Fob starts to fail, I take it back to my dealership. They ask WHY I had a remote starter installed ON TOP of another... AND, when Street Legal installed, they cut through wires indiscriminately (I have pictures, which I will show them in my lawsuit). THEY WRAPPED WIRES AROUND AN AREA THAT WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THE AIR-BAG CURTAIN TO DEPLOY, DURING A BAD ACCIDENT. TO SAY THESE PEOPLE ARE LESS THAN HONEST, AND LESS THAN KNOWLEDGEABLE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. I also Laughed when I read that the owner wrote: "We always make our best efforts to ensure that our customers are happy, satisfied with our products and with our customer service." I had a great experience with Street Legal. I had them install a powered sub into the trunk of my Land Rover and they also installed some aftermarket speakers in the front doors. I got the speakers and the sub elsewhere and they were perfectly alright with that. I was slightly worried when I went in that they would try and sell me some more stuff, but they were very understanding and only did what I asked. I enjoyed being able to talk to a technician and not be bombarded with sales pitches. The instal went perfectly. It was done in a few hours and they did it perfectly. Everything was neat and tidy; all of the wires concealed, radio was tuned better, door panels neatly put back in place. The price was a bit more than I was expecting in all honesty. But after seeing the results, you realy get what you pay for. They didn't get their wall of trophies and plaques for no reason. I would recommend this place to everyone! read more

We had a remote starter installed by Street legal two years ago and about two weeks ago we took our van in because we started having problems with the electrical system. The our car dealership said was due to the starter. We made an appt with Street Legal to supposedly fix the issue. However, the problem was not fixed and when the electrical issues did not go away and I took the car back to the car dealership and they found that the starter was installed improperly two years ago and the "fix" fried main electrical switch in the car. An over $600 repair for incompetence. I will be calling the BBB and looking into recouping this repair bill. read more

great team that handled $4k of upgrades to my hummer

DONT GO HERE!!! I called to get an idea over the phone on how much a new head unit would be parts and labor. i gave them my make and model also informed them that the original stuff is fiber optic ( thinking that might be a pain) and the guy was very nice over the phone told me it wasnt a big deal and i would be roughly around $350 out the door. I though that was a reasonable quote depending on which head unit i wanted. They told me to come in they had an opening tonight and it would only take a couple hrs. i came in they guy i talked to went home for the day and they new guy right off the bat before listening or looking at anything told me they quote was way under so he went outside looked at my car and told me that it was going to definitely be more than 350. i said ok well how much more are you thinking he sat on the computer for a moment and said it would be 700 for parts and labor plus there is no tray specific for my car so he would have to special order it and that doesnt include the cost of the head unit. i told him i wish the guy over the phone could have been a little more accurate on his estimate because i was not planning on spending that much his next statement was " sorry bro i cant give haircuts over the phone and the price is what it is " thats when i walked out. this guy was incredibly rude with a terrible attitude i felt unwelcome from the moment i walked in like i was bothering them. horrible experience going here. i happened to stop by the best buy in crystal lake just to see and the guy over there his name is Neil hes awesome very knowledgeable cost me $320 everything done i was there for an hour everything looks great and sounds great exactly what i was looking for he did a phenomenal job. Save your money and time dont go here!!! read more
