Been driving by this place for years and finally went in and I'm upset that I waited this long. This place is really great! You walk in and immediately see the Polish Grocery items on the left and a small dining area on the right. Very cool place! Also the owner was there to greet us and he's super friendly! We walked up to the deli counter and sampled some sausage that he had prepared and I instantly knew that I was going to buy some to go. We ordered a few sandwiches and dined in restaurant. We ordered the Cordon Bleu sandwich and also a special mixed leftovers sandwich that was made up of a smorgasbord of the extra meats he has leftover from the slicer! It was amazing! Have not been here for a while. Ordered sandwiches by phone and their smoked meat counter was full. Have been to Stanley's for many years, well before they opened their current location on East Bell Road. By the time I left the store, had three large bags. Smoked ribs, four different varieties of sausage, a block of feta cheese, pork shoulder, and apple strudel. Set for the rest of the month. Great shopping at a small family owned business. Outstanding lunch here and for a great price. I took my friend (a major carnivore and sausage lover) here for lunch. Small place tucked in the corner of a strip mall. He could not believe the selection and variety of all kinds of sausages . The lunch menu had so many options (both hot and cold) and the food was delicious. BONUS*** There is a small market inside that has a pretty good selection of eastern European grocery items. When we were done eating we picked up a couple of interesting chocolates for a sweet treat. Not a fan of sausage, but they had other meats available for sandwiches. Unfortunately the turkey was shiny and of not good quality. It was removed. The bacon is also weird looking and I heard a microwave ding. They put mayonnaise on the bread, but did not request that item. Weird having grease stains on your cold turkey packaging. Avocado was fresh, bread was ok, but stick to sausage I guess. read more

This place is gets it right! The spicy Hungarian sub was so delicious I thought about getting another for dinner. The sausage spoke for itself and the bread and mustard were no afterthought. I'm originally from northeastern Ohio and grew up enjoying European sausages from small shops. northeastern Ohio is or was very ethnic with a large Polish, Italian, and Slovenian neighborhoods. Phoenix? Not so much. Found Stanley's through a friend. Stopped in for lunch and to check the place out. Reminded me of the shops from back home along with the friendly and knowledgeable service. Wound up buying over $60 worth of sausages which should last for a bit. But, I'll certainly be back when it's all gone. read more

The wife was in the mood for perogies and Stanley's popped up in her search and we decided to give it a try. They had three plates that had a little of everything we wanted. One plate had cabbage rolls. These were some of the best I've had. Really good tomato based sauce and the meat filling was delicious. The second plate had one smoked sausage and one grilled sausage along with sauerkraut. I enjoyed the sausage more then the wife did. They were good but didn't really stand out. The sauerkraut I really liked. It was obviously homemade but the wife didn't care for it. The third plate, and this was the downfall, was the perogie sampler plate. It was supposed to be two meat, two potato, two cheese and two sauerkraut. We got all meat. The perogies appeared to have possibly been freezer burned and then heated up in the microwave and thrown in a pan of melted butter. Normally you'd be able to cut them with a fork but even using a knife it was tough to get through. I don't know what kind of meat filling was used but it was dry and tasted like paste. It desperately needed sour cream but when we asked for some we were told they didn't have any. When I brought up that we got all meat in the perogies I was told they didn't have cheese anymore with no mention of the other fillings I was supposed to get. Overall the first two plates I enjoyed but it's not worth the drive just to come here from East Mesa. read more

The meats here are all made at this location fresh, I love all their sausages and the bacon is to die for. They have a sandwich shop inside this location and is reasonably priced. The store is simple and right to the point, ask for samples they will let you try the different types of meats. They also have a small store inside with lots of products from Europe. I love there pirogies also you can have them made to eat in store or to go in the frozen selection. Everyone needs to come here to get there meats it's so good! read more

Had family coming in from out of state for an early Christmas celebration. Hurka is our traditional Christmas meal. Called Stanleys ordered 4 ropes. Drove 1.5 hours round trip to pick up, brought it home and cooked it, everyone is excited for our dinner, only to find out it is NOT Hurka, not even close! It was some sort of reddish/purple meat with little to no rice and if you've ever had Hurka, you know that's not it! So dinner is ruined, the hour and 1/2 trip to pick it up was just wasted time and almost $50 bucks down the drain. Whatever they sent home with us was so horrible and uneatable we had to throw it all in the trash. Sent an email to Stanleys, but have yet to receive any response. Incredibly disappointing. We used to love this place, but over the years it has gone way down hill. read more

Hidden gem! Nestled right next to the bowling alley and whataburger on Bell Rd.- I never knew this shop was even here. This place has those genuine old fashioned sub sandwiches you've been looking for! I feel blessed to have found this place! They have a little restaurant area, a sausage and meat counter, and a quaint little grocery area with unique items I've never seen anywhere else. The menu is extensive- even the kids will find something delicious! There's hot and cold subs, cabbage rolls, pierogies, hot dogs, homemade sausage subs and more! Where is the excellent button these guys have been here since before I moved to Arizona in 86 I promise you you will not be disappointed my absolute favorite is the Polish sausage but I also love the smoke bacon and the pork so delicious everything there is delicious I will not shop for Polish anywhere never have never will only at Stanley's will you find such deliciousness and excellent... This place is amazing. With the price of food going up, Stanleys is our go-to place. The sausage are home made and fantastic. We always buy extra for coveted charcuterie boards, pizza's and sandwiches at home. Their sandwiches are consistently great, loaded with meat and delicious. You do have to wait for them, as they make them fresh, but they are worth the wait, as they are great value with large sandwiches and lots of meat. It's my favorite sandwich shop. read more

Walking into this store was like returning to my childhood and my Eastern European neighborhood and family. I had become so used to the commercial smoked sausage in the vacuum bags that I had forgotten what real fresh Polish sausage tasted like. Not only did I leave with a good amount of sausage, but the owner convinced me to try some Lithuanian Havarti (Yum!), and then I spotted the cookies. I suspect every nationality has a version of these powdered sugar-coated pieces of fried dough bliss but when my Lithuanian grandmother made them they were "ausukes" (sp?). We started sampling before dinner stopped debating who really invented them and what they were really called because we were too busy stuffing our faces and trying to cover up the sugary evidence. They also carried a selection of other European food products, fresh rye bread and they make sandwiches. The store was immaculate and there were a few tables so you could eat lunch there. I've been buying Stanley's smoked Polish sausage for years. After being away from Phoenix for 20 some odd years I was happy to see Stanley's was still in business. I stopped by the East Bell Road location next to the bowling alley and was right back to the wonderful aroma of smoked sausage I remember well. Finally made it here after hearing about the spot for many years. The sausages were excellent. We tried a few different varieties. There are a few different families involved in the ownership and they are from different countries which makes up the restaurant and its uniqueness of diverse Foods. This is going to sound like the beginning of a bad joke but when I walked in I met a Pole, a Serb, and a Greek; so I knew the meats would be good. When walking inside it's like being transported to Europe; cured meats hanging in the store, jarred and canned goods that are hard to come by, Serbian bread...the list goes on. The meat counter had various samples of their sausages so it was to decide which ones were worth getting. In addition to cured meats they also make subs; 12 inches for $3.99! Definitely out of my way but will certainly make this place a regular in my rotation. read more
