Charming small restaurant serving delicious, made from scratch Serbian food. The staff is warm and informative for those new to Serbian food. We tried a mix of items. Everything was fresh and delicious. Portions were super generous.

Stopped by Phoenix and found this cute Bosnian restaurant. Hospitality was amazing and very comforting.... food was delicious !

On a roadtrip across the country and found this spot on the way. LOVE Eastern European food and they did not disappoint. Also, my server Aleks was super friendly and gave great recommendations!

Just moved to Phoenix like 3 months ago and have been craving some burek!! I'm from STL and my best friends family made the best Bosnian dishes! The guy working was very friendly! Small little restaurant, I got my food to and it took less than 10 minutes! Very quick! Sooo good! Only downfall was it's 35 mins from me haha! The meat burek/pita was amazing!

Our Bosnian friend brought us here 10 years ago and we were hooked from the first bite! The food is freshly made, wholesome, and absolutely delicious. Such cool decor, and extremely friendly service. Highly recommend, we will be back!

One of the best Bosnian meals in my life! The food was spot on authentic Bosnian, and I lived there. The cevapi was perfect (meat rolls) served with fluffy pita bread. Eat this with raw onion l, ajvar (red pepper dip) and sour cream... so delicious! The sarma (cabbage rolls) and the pita (cheese and meat filled pastry) are amazing! Had this wonderful server who told us all about the food and suggested dishes. They served up the food family style which was perfect for our group of 7! Even ended with Turkish coffee and four kinds of desserts: baklava, apple roll, and a meraigne cake. The decor was as old town Sarajevo, and was spot on! So great inside the non descript outside. Loved the attention to detail! Overall, an amazing experience! Thank you Sarajevo was a fabulous time!

Wow! This place is a gem and has won a spot as one of my favorite places in all of the valley! The food was delicious! The service was great! The decorations are beautiful! And the prices were unbelievable! We walked through the front doors and were immediately transported to a new place. To me it felt like stepping into an old European set. For $33 we had dinner for two plus dessert! (We did get a free dessert for being first timers at the restaurant - did I mention the service was great?) Can't wait to go back and try other items on their menu!

First time at a Bosnian restaurant. We were greeted and welcomed like at someone's home. The ambiance is very authentic from what I can tell. The food was really good for our first time experience. Definitely would be back!

The food is great. The owners are very friendly. The restaurant is beautiful inside, based on the old buildings in Sarajevo, it really feels like you are in a whole other country especially with the friendly staff. The food is very affordable and would highly recommend coming here.

Excellent food and very affordable! Definitely a place I will come every time I'm in this area. A hidden gem

All out worth the stop ....... From your card to find anything good in Arizona this was beyond Arizona. This was like New York quality food. Everything was amazing, but that stuffed cabbage was the best stuffed cabbage I've ever had.

Did this place get sold? I went on June 2nd and the place said closed till further notice, was one of my favorites in the valley, was shocked.

We are now open again, with no changes to our ownership structure. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Is this place still open? The phone number listed is a number that is not in service. I've also seen that it is "temporarily closed." I am really craving this food!!!!!

Old Town Sarajevo is indeed open now. They were temporarily closed due to storm damage to the building, but all is now well and right. They are open every day but Tuesday.

Do y'all ship to Texas?!!? (Crossing my fingers)

Is this open every day? I tried calling the number several times and got a generic outgoing message. The hotel I was staying at said the restaurant didn't open until Wednesday too.

    Mondays- Saturdays 9a-9p Sundays 10a-9p

How big is the restaurant. Can they accommodate a group of 10-12 people during the week at about 1 PM?

It holds about 50 people and just call ahead for reservations at that time.

I can't speak on the customer service as we never left our table and our waited just walked over and got what we needed. We were pretty stuffed from our massive meal, but we decided on sharing a cup of gelato just to satisfy our sweet tooth. I peeked inside as our table was right at a little walkway from the restaurant to the bakery. Gelato is just one of many things they serve here. They also have all your typical Italian desserts. Cakes like tiramisu, pastries like Italian flag cookies, cookies like Italian wedding cookies, cannolis of different varieties, and of course gelato. What was suggested to us if we wanted gelato was the hazelnut flavor. I was expecting a little cup for the 6 of us just to get a taste, but what he brought over was a massive serving. I don't know how many scoops it was or even how much we even paid, but we all got plenty with some even left behind. Now this gelato was life changing. Probably the best I've had in the states. I know it's gotta be way better in Italy, but I'll take what I can when I can. Think of a Ferrero Rocher but in gelato form. It was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't overly sweet and it had a little crunch with bits of chocolate and hazelnuts. My sweet tooth was extremely satisfied after having dessert here. I have literally been thinking about that gelato since I left Phoenix. Luckily this company has locations in Texas so I will definitely be seeking out this gelato soon.

We've worked our way through what feels like almost the entire dessert case over the years, and I can honestly say I've yet to find something I didn't love. Every pastry is beautifully crafted, incredibly fresh, and tastes like it was made with so much care. This visit was all about the cannoli, and let me just say... craving officially satisfied! The shell had that perfect crisp snap, while the filling was silky, rich, and just the right amount of sweet. It was everything I had been dreaming about and then some. Walking into The Sicilian Baker always feels like stepping into a little slice of Italy. Between the gorgeous display of desserts and the irresistible aroma of fresh pastries, it's nearly impossible to leave with just one treat (don't say I didn't warn you! ). Whether you're stopping in for a post-dinner dessert, celebrating something special, or simply giving in to a sweet tooth like I did, this place is absolutely worth the visit. Every dessert we've tried has been phenomenal, and this cannoli was another delicious reminder of why we keep coming back. Sweet craving? Check. Happiness? Double check.

It's smooth, rich without being too heavy, and the flavor actually develops as you eat it instead of just being one-note sweet. You can tell they take this part seriously. Leave it outside the fridge for an hour and watch that cheesecake melt on your tongue crystals (if you have the patience for that) Their rotating monthly flavors keeps things interesting, and you're not just stuck with the same lineup every time. Out of what I tried, the banana pudding one was easily a standout--super nostalgic, creamy, and just done right without being overly sweet. The coconut one was also up there, more subtle but still really clean and flavorful. Love me some coconut! They also have a punch card system--buy 9 slices, get the 10th free--which is a nice touch. It lowkey turns into a mission because once you've tried one flavor, you kinda want to work your way through all of them anyway. Now...the downside. The customer service just isn't great. It's not aggressive or anything, just noticeably lacking. There's not much warmth or engagement--it feels pretty transactional. For a place that clearly puts effort into their product, you'd expect at least a baseline level of hospitality, and it's just not really there. So overall, if you're going to Banhams, go for the cheesecake. The rotating flavors keep it fresh, the quality is legit, and it's definitely worth trying. Just don't expect much from the service side, and you'll enjoy it a lot more.

After reading reviews and considering our options, we were really looking forward to this experience. When we arrived, we were excited by the variety of flavors and the over-the-top presentation. Unfortunately, once we started looking more closely at the products, we became concerned. The ice cream in the freezer appeared extremely soft and partially melted, and we noticed significant condensation around the cookie dough/batter. It did not give the impression that the products were being properly maintained or stored. The milkshakes certainly LOOK impressive, but once we actually tasted them, the quality was very disappointing. The ice cream did not have the creamy consistency or quality I would expect for the price. It tasted like inexpensive, low-quality ice cream, and the whipped cream was also warm rather than cold and fresh. At that point, it felt like we were paying primarily for the presentation, jar, toppings, and "wow factor" rather than quality ice cream. I also noticed packaged items such as Chips Ahoy cookies, brownies, and sugar cookies being used as toppings, with some of the original store packaging visible. There is nothing inherently wrong with using packaged products, but when the actual ice cream isn't high quality, it becomes difficult to justify the price. The most concerning part of our visit, however, was what happened with an employee. One employee arrived wearing what appeared to be pajamas and had a kitten/cat on her shoulder. She took the cat toward the back and later was behind/near the register preparing drinks while she and another employee were interacting with the cat around the food and snack area. Seeing an animal being handled in an area where food and food-service items were being prepared was extremely concerning. As a customer, I should not have to wonder whether pet hair or dander could be getting near food. For anyone with a cat allergy, this could be especially concerning. Once I saw this, I stopped eating my milkshake altogether. I sincerely hope the owners or management take this review seriously. The staff need proper training, and the food-storage, cleanliness, and food-handling practices should be carefully evaluated. A fun atmosphere and impressive presentation can only go so far. Quality, cleanliness, and proper food handling should always come first. We went there expecting a memorable dessert experience with our kids. Unfortunately, the experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons. My recommendation: save your money and look elsewhere. We spent $81 on this visit.
