Sour Mouse was in full form yesterday afternoon. The main attraction was Deb Auer, a fine melodious singer who has been part of Jazz by Jorei since 2022. Today she sang a number of well known jazz songs that enthralled the audience. After the break the open mic singers regaled everyone...Maki, Sherri, Debra Stevens was a joy to listen to ...Choi....Mary Lovelace....Michael Weather who has a soft voice...Ed....Dennis sang "My Way"....Rahima and Debra Silva to name a few. Naturally the band played well and a few were there to guest perform...Mark on guitar and Richard played the clarinet. A jazz lover was celebrating her birthday and miniature cupcakes and snacks were there for everyone. Kat Ross Reilly is the organizer par excellence who makes each session joyful. read more

We were looking for a place that had live music and stumbled upon this place. No cover either! Pretty unassuming from the outside, you go downstairs and it's pretty big. Mostly pool tables but they also have some ping pong tables. When we came on a Wednesday it wasn't too busy. They had a live jazz band playing with 4 musicians. They were good! We got a pitcher of beer and sat down to listen. They also have board games/cards you can use. You just have to leave your id that is given back upon return. Nothing fancy but exactly the vibe we were looking for. Only one guy working the bar and he was doing his best. As much as I used to love this place, it is sad how they can become so bad with their poor Customer Service. While the Ambiance can be dependent on the DJ playing and the crowd. I usually enjoy my visits here, and the availability of pool tables and ping pong is certain if you plan ahead. Now let me rant about the Poor service. I had emailed the place regarding a Birthday celebration and how Im expecting a certain number of people (I shared my partiful link with them) and honestly it looked like everything will be good as I got the confirmation for 2 booth. As I walked into the place with my guests ready to party and enjoy the night. My alleged booth were taken and every other table was full, and confusion rose quickly. I started to calm things down by telling my friends to start ordering drinks while I speak to the manager. His response was a simple sorry no remorse or accountability. As I was still frustrated, the person tried to console me with a "Free" drink. What a disappointment!!! This place was fun! I ended up getting a pepperoni pizza and it was late and was so happy that the kitchen was still open at 2 AM. There was many games to play like pool and beer pong. There needed to be more beer pong as there was only one table so we had to wait on someone playing for awhile. Bartender was great and prices weren't terrible for drinks. The vibe was great, definitely very much 20 year olds. We also got a beer tower of cider and it was enough for 5-6 of us!! Loved the vibe but needed more games other than pool. I saw the video posted about the superbowl halftime show and it seems that the zoo bar and grille in saint petersburg florida is not such a good place to go for diversity entertainment being that a patron of puerto rican descent was treated in such disrespectful manner when questioning about what's allowed to be shown on "all" of the t v monitors that were available to have both halftime performances shown as a preference of choice to a { it seems in the video} multi racial gathering of people. read more

Super disappointing place if you want to play pool or ping pong. They advertise it as "first come first serve" which is just not at all accurate. The bartender said ping pong would be available at 9pm, but that we can sign up for the wait list. After being next on the wait list for an hour, we then find out the people that currently have the table can continue reserving it as long as they please. Then we get told that someone made a reservation at 10pm LOL. We waited around for 2+ hours for no reason. I'm only giving this place an extra star because the bartender offered a free shot for the trouble. I'd recommend looking into somewhere else to spend your night, it's not worth spending your night waiting around. read more

This place has a variety of events along with different games, including pool, foosball, ping pong, and board games. My friend attended a speed dating event here and said it was a good time. When I arrived, they had a DJ who was playing a variety of music, and the crowd was dancing and having a great time. The drinks were pretty mediocre for the most part and overpriced unless you come here for happy hour. I love lychee martinis, and the one from here was just ok. They only added one lychee, I wish they would have added at least 2. If you're into overpriced games, this is a spot that you will probably enjoy. read more

Staff was friendly and took care of everything from my drinks to my song recommendations. This place is located near the McDonald's in the east village and I couldn't recommend it any more. Bruh, I have performed here, I enjoy partying here EXCEPT for the fact that there's a bartender that works here that is just... she's not fit to be a bartender. Listen I'm not a bartenders enemy, I'm also not a bartender simp, I'm happily married. I show up, I'm polite, I tip well and I keep it moving. I don't want to cry to my bartender about my life but I'm also not some a-hole who treats bartenders like sh*t.. but I'm also not looking to be treated like shit myself. Imma give you the breakdown. They have a drink here that they put a mini rubber ducky in.. idk the name bro.. I ask for the rubber ducky ("can I get a lagunitas and a rubber ducky please?" Type of vibe), the first time she makes me the drink, the second time I order the same order (me and my wife's drinks) this time she brings me a rubber ducky without the drink I make it clear I wanted the drink not the rubber ducky.. the third time I order the exact same way for the 3rd time in a row.. this time she tells me "rubber ducky... DRINK?" Like she's correcting the way I'm ordering, very reminiscent of when you're in elementary school and you ask the teacher "can I go to the bathroom" and she says "I don't know, CAN YOU or did you mean MAY YOU?" TRASH AFFFFF (I still tipped max which is like above 25% at this venue, I believe it was like 30%).. I'm not bringing my baggage to the bar, don't bring your baggage to the interaction. Let's keep things civil. Let's not assume things about eachother and let's be cordial and respectful. I'm not asking for "the customer is ALWAYS right" I'm asking for basic respect. My wife and my friend both reminded me that last time I was here she treated me the same way. Idk how I could have possibly annoyed this bartender so much in my 4x going here (one time of which I ordered a bottle of 300$ champagne, the tip out on that is nice for not much bartending work). Again I've performed here. I don't show up to perform and act like a diva. Nah fam I'm wild respectful at all times with everybody. I'll still tip well, I'll still treat everyone with respect (the security is always wild cool and respectful themselves as well, the bus boys snatch away any drink you leave laying around whether empty or full but are respectful ppl as well).. but I doubt I'll ever be back on a personal level to just drink and have a good time which sucks cuz it's still a dope venue with lots of potential to have a good time with all the games and live shows + live DJ.. If you see this bartender, idk what I did to upset you but I hope next time I see you we can both just be cordial and respectful and cut all the extra bs. Overall, Sour Mouse is such a dope vibe. The pool tables, the ping pong, the pizza... I loved it! No shade but they could used some utensils and a first aid kit though. I came for a meet and greet with Sam (winner of the Circle on Netflix) and had such a great time. The dj was brought in by Sam's team but Sour Mouse might need to get them on the vendor list. The music was pumping allllll night and got the girlies MOVIN! I saw in the bathroom something about becoming a member.... Not sure if this place is a social club or not but I'm intrigued enough to look into it. I would love to do my bday party here. read more

The bartender was rude they kicked us out early at around 1225am. When we arrived there was at "gay comedy show" as described by the bartender. The whole pool and ping pong hall could hear it. No music was playing. The show was offensive racist and inappropriate. Super distracting and this is coming from a (POC) member of the lgbt+ community. It was clearly trying to be "edgy" but it was just catering to queer WHITE women. The person made "black" specific "jokes" which were so obviously racist. There should have been music playing or the show should have been in a separate room for the people who did not choose to be subjected to that kind of "humor"/ racism. Please do better. read more

Perfect place to hang out as a group and play some games! Large and spacious venue with plenty of pool tables, foosball, and a couple of ping pong tables. Games are cheaper in off-peak hours. Last time we were there, there was a crew playing beer pong too! Lots of tables and booths around the periphery. They sometimes have live music and do art shows. Last time I was there I thought their tap list was a bit lacking, and they only had soju cocktails - but perusing their menu now looks like they have a full blown bar! I've never ordered food here, but last time I saw people ordering pizzas. This is a place to keep on your radar if you need a hangout spot for a larger group, and want a change of pace from a normal bar. read more

Definitely more of a college young 20s vibe. Like an underground club but with games, open mic night, and loud music. The bouncer was really rude. Drinks are basic... The crowd is interesting with open mic drawing in various kinds of music. This was an awesome, classy, trendy pool table/ping pong bar and lounge! The owners and staff were super nice and inviting. The beer selection was on point, and they have some great pizza selections and other food items to choose from. We didn't get to try their pizza, as we ate before we arrived, but it sure looked and smelled good. (NOTE: there is a "food item must be ordered" standard there; which is part of city/state ordinance for such an establishment to serve alcohol. With that, we ordered their gourmet crackers option, which were the bomb!). They have live music on certain nights, so be sure to check out their website and Instagram account for updates! I threw my birthday party for 16 people at Sour Mouse this past weekend and had a great time!! Pros: - My hubby heard about this place from The Fung Brothers and thought it was such a fun place to throw a party. You go downstairs to a spacious venue with really high ceilings, cool street art, plenty of pool tables, 2 foosball tables, beer pong tables, and 2 ping pong tables. There are many bar stools, some sofas, and a performance stage with a projection screen. You can also rent board games from the bar. - Fun selections of beer, liquor, and cocktails: https://www.sourmousenyc.com/menu - Friendly and attentive staff. We worked with Phoebe for our event, she was easy and communicative. The bartender Andressa (major kudos- as she was the only bartender for 4 parties for most of the night!!) was really nice and hustled nonstop. - The pizza came out quick and was not bad! They serve only 10-inch pizzas with the following toppings: pepperoni, mushroom, margarita, sausage, and all-white pizza. All pizzas are $16 for the whole 10-inch pie. Cons: - While the girls' bathrooms were pretty clean, I heard the opposite about the boys' Note: - Happy Hour 3 pm - 6 pm - All ping pong & pool tables are $25/hr per table. After 6 pm pool table price changes to $40 on Fridays and Saturdays. - You have to put down a 15% deposit (down payment to your subtotal) to hold down the reservation - For those who are more careful during COVID, this place can get uncomfortably crowded when there are many parties going on. Very few people wore masks. Vaccine cards were checked at the door during later hours. I was glad the ping pong tables were more sectioned off in a corner so my group felt more at ease. - They leave fans running through the night to ventilate/circulate the air, so it can get pretty chilly, bring layers Overall, had SUCH a fun time and we ended up staying for 5 hours. Came here for a birthday and was disappointed. We thought there would be a secluded area for our party since we paid for the package but we were pretty much merged in with random people making it difficult to even converse with our group. Got random people playing at our table even though we reserved it. Had to tell multiple groups that we reserved the tables. It felt like the staff were extremely unprepared knowing that there was a big group coming in for a birthday. The bartender was extremely rude as it was difficult to hear him telling us to move over the loud music which resulted in him repeating himself a few times. He then muttered "you guys are not f*** deaf" in such a nasty tone. I understand that it might be annoying to repeat yourself but that was completely unprofessional. It honestly killed the vibe. The food was hardly enough to feed anyone. Good thing we had good company otherwise would not recommend booking their birthday package. If you want to have a fun time with staff who actually cares, try Electric Shuffle! They actually take into consideration your party size and makes food according to it. read more

Came to this place last night for a game night Meetup and had a really good time! You go underground and enter a snazzy basement. Part of the Meetup price gave us a free drink and unlimited pool and ping pong for about 4 hours which means I got a really good price to patronize this place, but I also did spring for an additional pepperoni pizza which cost an overpriced $15 for its small size. While the pizza is nothing to write home about, I did eat it pretty much all by myself (and I really wasn't all that hungry) without my boyfriend's help so I guess that says something. I am also AWFUL at ping pong, but last night was the first time I was actually able to practice enough to get some good volleys in and not completely suck. At the time of my visit, there was NO full bar, only soda available was Coke, and pizza was the only thing on the menu. Additional snacks, popcorn, chicken tenders, fries, ANYTHING would really take this place to the next level. But, the bartender was REALLY awesome, especially navigating around the whole Meetup freebie situation, and I LOVED the ambience of this place, the artwork, and the music was GREAT. At some point, they even had a fog machine going on with cool lighting effects. And everyone there was SUPER nice, friendly, no bad vibes or pretentiousness. It was very easy to jump in on a game with a random someone or call next. Also, note for the ladies, the bathroom actually has like 3-4 stalls inside, which you would not expect, so stroll on in, no need to wait for the last girl to finish. Super fun spot! Went there on a Tuesday night. It was busy but not crowded. you can quickly get a pool or ping pong table with your group of friends. You don't have to wait long to get a drink, which was a plus!!! They had a live band with a pianist who worked for Madonna! The crowd was mixed and ranged from 25-45 years old. You must get the lychee martini! It was not overly sweet or strong. Super yummy. I probably had 5 of those. I wish I had tried their food/snacks too. The women's bathroom was clean! Perfect spot to bring a date here or with a small group of friends on a weekday after dinner. The Fung Brothers, youtube influencers are regulars there. We happened to see them there. My son and I were in one of their videos when they featured Carol's bun as one of the Chinatown cheap eats. The owner, Aaron was so nice and asked if we wanted to meet them and take a shot with them. Hosted my husband's birthday here last Thursday and everything turned out great! We were able to reserve two pool tables in the corner next to two booths. This was the perfect amount of space for our party of 13. The staff was accommodating, from booking the reservation to the care we received while we were there. It is such a fun vibe pregame spot for friends. It's underground and full of tables. My biggest complaint is that they have a membership plan for free in which you can get discounts for drinks or games but its Iphone users only. I felt a little hurt but I still had a good time here. The drink is standard and does the job. I do not recommend the lychee martini at all it isn't very good. It is a college hangout spot for sure. The price are pretty standard. Big place, lots of room on a Thursday night to hang out after an organization-wide meeting - pizzas, tater tots, pool tables and pitchers of beer.
