Best Poolhall in the Manhattan area that is not a Private club! Bathrooms were clean, pool tables were well kept, and the staff was very attentive! Great place to practice alone or hit some balls with friends.

Underground place to relax, drink and play pool. Very fun to bring the guys and let the girls drink. You get your own waitress to order drinks from. Definitely visit!

I always enjoy going down stairs as soon as I walk into a new establishment in New York City because it's always surprise when you get to the end of the stairs. When you make it down the stairs, you are greeted by Society's staff and they asked you if you want to sit at the bar, go to the lounge, rent a pool table, or play darts. I haven't been into many billiards spots but this place had a lot of tables. The most I have ever seen and I think I counted 18 or 20 tables. Nonetheless, the place is worth a visit if you like pool and darts. As with everything in New York City, it is a little expensive and they charge per the hour for darts and pool. Finally, it is dark and I could barely see when walking down the hall to go to the restroom.

A fun bar and billiards hall -- stopped by on a Sunday evening with friends and it was super easy to get a table. They were playing some great music and overall had a good vibe for a larger group. We got two pool tables and a darts board and everyone had something interesting to do. The drinks here are good as well -- tried both IPAs and loved both. Overall, would totally recommend for the ambiance!

The entrance is pretty dark and rather plain, but downstairs, it's like a hidden gem. They have about 20 pool tables and all the equipment. It's a great place to hang out and have fun. There is a community of people who come to practice for the weekly League as well, so you'll see some serious and focused pool players here. It's like a cross between a club (because of the live DJ) and pool school. The tacos were yummy. I'm looking forward to trying their grilled cheese next time though!

My husband and I came hoping to have a good time on a Saturday night. However, we had the worst time with the guard and manager. We tried to explain that we were industry and only wanted one game of pool but they rushed to accommodate even though they were open until 4am and we were there at 2am. They were quick to cash us out and were unwilling to hear us out. I don't wish this type of service on anyone. Invest your money elsewhere.

The workers were nice but the place is pretty expensive and the drinks aren't that great. I wouldn't really recommend coming here.

Crazy expensive. Charged me $8.50 for a Diet Coke. We had 6 people playing pool and it was $20 per person. Not worth it.

    Is it 18+?

I did not notice anyone under 18 but I did not specifically ask. They are open in the afternoon so maybe it's only after a certain time? Might be worth calling to find out

Surrounding TVs keep every play, fight and miracle replayed in glorious surround-sass while wooden tables beg for pitchers, pretzels and conspiracy theories about the ref. Whether you're upstairs for the 3rd floor vibe, mid-level for the perfect sightline, or down in the cozy den with the best acoustics, this is New York sports bar energy: loud, a little brazen, impossibly welcoming. One particular bartender, Delaney not only brings an awesome level of energy to the bar, she saunters in like a halftime show -- a grin that's equal parts mischief and welcome. She's all quick elbows and quicker comebacks, the kind of bartender who remembers your name, your drink, and that one ridiculous story you told months ago. Her laugh is loud, her wink is devious, and she has a way of making first-timers feel like regulars by the second round. Behind the wooden bar she's choreography: expert pours, theatrical muddles, and a flourish that makes every order feel curated. Delaney's drinks are personality-packed, with her behind the bar, the place doesn't just serve drinks -- it gets its personality back. Taking off a star because I had a weird experience with the people at the front. I'm currently recovering from an injury and I'm in a pretty obvious neck brace. I was visiting with two people who were on their way and would be arriving in about 10-15 minutes and the people at the front told me I couldn't be seated until they arrived. I understand that this is normal protocol, but I pointed out my neck brace and asked if an exception could be made because it's significantly more comfortable for me to sit down (and there was no room at the bar). They said that their manager wouldn't let them do that, and that they couldn't seat me until the rest of my party was there. There were tons of table tables available the entire time and when my friend arrived about 12 minutes later, they seated us, I totally could've sat the whole time and it wouldn't have been a problem. Not the end of the world and I probably could've pushed it harder, but it definitely was a little awkward!

Warm lighting, good energy, and a chill crowd make it an easy place to hang whether you're starting your night or winding it down. One of the best parts is the menu. It's super affordable for NYC, but still delivers on quality. Everything feels simple, satisfying, and done right. We ordered the burger and fries, wings and fries, plus a margarita and a mojito. The burger was juicy and filling, the wings were flavorful, and the fries were hot and crispy. The drinks were solid, refreshing, and exactly what you want at a spot like this. Location-wise, it's perfect. The Grizzly Pear is close to so many things, making it a great stop before or after exploring the neighborhood, catching up with friends, or heading to another spot nearby. The service really stood out too. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing, which added to the relaxed vibe of the place. Overall, The Grizzly Pear is a great go-to if you want good food, decent drinks, a cool atmosphere, and fair prices all in one spot. Definitely a place I'd come back to again.

They had outdoor seating along 9th ave and 51st street. We sat inside at a hightop , along their big open windows of 9th; great in between of inside and outside. Plenty of options for a big or small group, or solo! Our server was McKenna, who was incredibly attentive, we never felt like we were waiting or had to wave anyone down. The food came quickly, and was great. Nothing that changed our lives, but hot, quick, and delicious. I can see this becoming a regular spot for when we can't decide on where to go and just want somewhere dependable and consistent. Inside is like a typical Irish pub: long bar, wood everywhere, comfy high tops and booth seating along the wall. Keep in mind that it is a sports bar with TVs everywhere, so they will be playing the major sport of the season. The volume isn't too loud though, enough to hear, but don't need to cover your ears. The bottomless option on the weekend is great, 2-3 drinks and you get your money's worth. The bloody's are good quality, with a good bite of Tabasco and horseradish (I prefer that!) and the mimosas are bubbly forward (they're not skimping you with mostly OJ). The food prices for brunch aren't crazy either. Selection is a bit limited, but seeing as this is a pub/tavern, I think they have a pretty good mix. Overall, would absolutely recommend. If you have a big group, have some common sense and book a reservation, but likely able to do walk-ins for small groups, couples, or singles easily. This is a great option for laid back vibes in HK.
