Coming from San Francisco my favorite place to eat was Crepevine on Irving Street! The New Orleans is my absolute favorite next to the Jamaican. I mean really you could not go wrong with anything on that menu. The ingredients were so fresh. When I found out, there was a Crepevine in Santa Rosa. I was so excited to share this with the rest of my family. However, we were also disappointed... especially me. I ordered the New Orleans and it was not what I expected. It was horrible and I have no idea if it's the cutting back on the supplies and getting frozen food or what but the food was horrible. The coffee was so bitter it taste like I was drinking burnt coffee grinds. The staff were very professional and polite. And that's the only reason why I'm giving this place two stars. I came here for my bday lunch! First off I've only had crepes here and they are fabulous and delicious. I normally get their Nutella with strawberry crepe. Given it was lunch I tried their pasta and it was delish. It was a fettuccini Alfredo with salmon and spinach. Amazingggg! The Italian soda was also pretty great. My boss likes to bring in lunch from this place. I try different dishes each time and I never find them to be delicious. Wednesday I had the El Baron burger with garlic fries. The only thing that was good was the side salad. I asked for medium well. Several bites in, the burger was pink. The cooked onions on the burger were rubbery. The fries were rigor mortis stiff. Came in with my daughter for brunch. I had the Apple Hill Crepes with a side of bacon. My daughter had Strawberry crepes. Both dishes and the bacon were great. We enjoyed them. My family and I came in for a late lunch, we were greeted by the staff. That was so warm and welcoming. I always love that. Even though it had been a while since my last visit I kinda knew what I wanted to order, yet I still glanced at the menu. It hasn't changed much, but I did notice the prices went up a lot. I'm not sure why I was shocked, basically $20 for a cheeseburger, small handful of French fries, and a side salad. The French toast was $17 which is expensive in my opinion. We also ordered an iced tea and side of cornbread. Overall our order came to about $45 for 2 adults and a toddler. Now as for taste, The French toast was good but not $17 good.... I was disappointed in the amount of French fries with my burger, my burger was basic, it wasn't as tasty as I remember. Also let me not forget about the ranch dressing, it tasted watered down which made me sad because I remember them having the delicious homemade ranch in the past.... Four stars for the clean restaurant and friendly staff. Even though they increased their prices I'll probably be back in the future sometime. I've been to a handful of Crepevine's in the Bay Area, but never up north. This particular location had a larger outside sitting area and sadly there was a talkative golden retriever that didn't like my overlay fluffy older huskies. Hee. So that dog started a chain reaction and the other 3 dogs all started barking as we walked up, oops! My dogs don't engage in barking, only howling when I initiate it. Lol. Besides that, I loved the Country radio station they played and even tho it this specific location stopped serving the Gluten Free Waffles, I enjoyed their coco-banana GF pancakes. My Boyfriend got his favorite the Mazatlán omelette and he enjoyed that and the sourdough bread. Yet he said down in the Bay Area, he got 4 pieces of toast, and here he only got 2 pieces. I'm. I'm too sure if the price was more/less here, but maybe that's the difference. Overall, I'd still recommend the establishment and enjoyed our brunch with our puppies. We had a chance to visit with family in Santa Rosa, and they introduced us to some of their favorite independent businesses. We shopped and dined with delight! Their menu boards boast so many choices for crepes (savory or sweet), sandwiches, pasta, salads, breakfast fav's like pancakes, and more. Picking the filling for a crepe or sandwich takes some brain power to decide. Once you narrow it down, you order and pay at the counter, then find a table. They bring the food and drinks out to you. There's plentiful seating inside, and also a nice amount of tables outside on their patio. Our group of six went for the al fresco option. I love crepes, so they already had me queued up to enjoy the meal. Everyone in our group ordered such different items that I got to snap photos of many varied items from the menu.
