My friends and I came here on a whim to try a new place. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, decorations, service and food. This place is a family owned Greek restaurant that caters to all people with warmth and enthusiasm. Best to come here with an appetite as we intended to share our dishes but each ate our own seperately, . I ordered spanakopita because I can never resist it and was not disappointed. For dessert, we all tried the kataifi as it came recommended by our waiter. Wow! I would sooo like to make this at home one day, it's quite unique. I would come back here again and again for the amazing dessert!!

Wow, some of the best Mediterranean food I've had in the US ever! The pita bread was so tender and paired extremely well with the tasty lentil soup, the salmon kebab was cooked just right, and the salad was delicious. Highly recommend!! The restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated too with spacious seating. The staff were nice. We parked across the street in the parking garage on 7th for $1/hr.

Six of us went here last night and we really enjoyed it. Cool rainy Monday night so other than one other couple we had the large nicely decorated space to ourselves. All the food was excellent, I had the lamb skewers and the portion size was more than adequate. Branzino was had by two others and was delicious, as was the Manti and Moussaka. The Saganaki appetizer appetizer was very good but mean for four people at most as was the very nice Cabbage Dolma. The owner served us and cooked our food with one other sous chef in the kitchen so while the appetizers came out quickly, the main courses were a bit delayed. Recommend the Red Blend Turkish Red Wine which is also available by the glass with very healthy pours. We will return and I hope this restaurant continues to succeed as it offers something no other restaurant in Sonoma County that I can think of does. Very friendly service by the gracious owner with good value albeit not inexpensive.

great place. so much seating and the decor all around the store is gorgeous. the owners working in the store are so kind and welcoming. such bright personalities and made the experience even better the food was so good. everything was a 10/10. the dip trio was amazing. i've had many hummus, tzatziki, and baba ganoush before but this is probably the best i've had. the pita bread is also served warm and so delicious. the greek fries were so good. the potatoes were extremely crispy and the flavors of the sauce and cheese completed each other so well. the chicken kebob was cooked so well and tasted so good. the vegetables were cooked perfectly and i loved eating it in every bite. everything was so delicious and i couldn't stop eating. the dessert was so good but ran out of space to keep eating. you definitely gotta check out this family owned business! delicious!

This is a really cute restaurant with a nice bar area. I love the wood floors, blue walls and beautiful light fixtures. Is made reservations, though I was the only person there. Definitely a family run restaurant, so that's disheartening. I ordered the Baba Ganuj to start. It is meant to be shared, so it was good sized. The pita bread was soft and warm. For my entree I chose the calamari with the Mediterranean salad. A bit too much dressing on the salad, though. I did request it on the side. Otherwise, it was a good meal. I'll come back to try one of their regular entrees.

We stopped by Kalimera on the way up to Mendocino for lunch and the restaurant was fairly busy at 12:40 PM on a Sunday. The staff did inform us that food would take up to 30 minutes to come out, but we weren't in a rush anyways. Service was definitely a little slow and a couple items like the manti were unavailable, but everything we ordered was delicious and the restaurant is bright with a lovely abiance. Falafel (4.25/5): Nice crunchy crust without being overly dense. Well seasoned throughout and plated with both hummus and tahini which added a nice earthiness and creaminess. Arugula salad was generously seasoned with a fragrant olive oil. Baba Ghanoush (3.75/5): The baba ghanoush itself was actually delicious. Insanely luscious mouthfeel so it feels almost creamy. Unfortunately, their pita just wasn't my favorite. It's a bit dense and I wish it had at least been toasted before hitting the table. Lamb and Beef Gyro (4/5): The gyro was nice and tender with a bit of smoky char on certain bites. The serving size was pretty generous and all the vegetables add that fresh crunch you're craving with the savory meat.

Ordered to go, and it's the best food I've had even after having to drive 15 minutes home! Ordered a variety of things, and they were all excellent!!! Spanakopita - (5/5 stars) - flaky perfection, the filling to phyllo dough was a perfect bite, it is expensive since you only get 1 but it's very very very good quality Greek Salad (4.5/5) - nice and freshing, the lemon dressing was not sour which I love! Just a lil hint of lemon. Make sure to break up the cheese and mix everying well, ninus 0.5 stars for the cucumber and tomato being in huge chunks making it hard to bite Cold Meze Plate (5/5) - highly recomend!!! I like being able to try lots of things at once and this was perfect! I especially loved the dolmas and baba ghanoush, the pita goes so well with each one Baklava (5/5) - not super sticky or super sweet making it better than most! Chocolate Baklava (6/5) - I can't believe I'm saying this but I liked it a lil bit more than the regular baklava (feels crazy to say when I love baklava so much), it has a slight brownie flavor without the brownie texture, highly recommend trying it! Overall, there's nothing that tastes bad! Everything tastes so freakin' delicious!

Family trip discovered this newly opened Greek Turkish restaurant for lunch. We ordered bunch of appetizer from cold mezzo, calamari frito, hummus , dolmas, unfortunately they ran out of octopus. Appetizer came in quickly. They are all delicious. For entrees , the family tables ordered combination of plates Kebab, food came in fresh however a bit late. Including the Turkish coffee other than that it was good dining experience, food is fresh, delicious and flavorful. Service could be better , additional staff could help , maybe they were short staff that day.

Wow! This is a hidden gem. The Mediterranean food at this restaurant is SO good. We had 2 Octopus dishes; the carpaccio and the grilled dish. They were both amazing! The lamb kabobs were tender and so flavorful. The little dumplings were tender and saucy and oh so tasty! I never knew I liked Mediterranean food so much. Our server Siena was lovely and very attentive, and the owner, Heather had excellent recommendations! We will definitely be going back.

Grilled Octopus with Kale and Beet Salad - octopus a bit chewy (3 stars)

Kalimera is a huge, beautifully-decorated restaurant in Santa Rosa serving up Greek-Turkish cuisine. Inside, you'll see many colorful Turkish lamps hanging from the ceiling and even a piano! Its located next to the Museum of Sonoma County. We came here for lunch on our way back from Bodega Bay to the Bay Area since our 5-yo son is usually fans of grilled chicken kabobs and seasoned basmati rice. The food overall was just okay. Grilled octopus appetizer came with plenty of kale and beet but the octopus itself needed some more massaging and was way too chewy and rubbery. The kid's chicken kabob came out looking well-done with more burnt spots that we're used too. Salmon bowl was ok but was mostly carbs with 50% salad and 30% rice and pita. Two good dishes are the fried chicken sandwich with fries and spicy Greek Aioli and the side of roasted veggies. Its possible maybe we didn't pick the best menu items, but we did expect more from such a beautifully-decorated restaurant with a good-sized menu.

New place that just opened up- definitely excited to see a Mediterranean place! The lamb shank was the best thing we ordered. It was very tender and delicious. The Russian dumpling was sooo tiny and mostly dough, on top of a cold creamy sauce - it wasn't my favorite. I wouldn't order this again. The octopus salad was good but it arrived after both entrees. We had also waited an absurdly long time for everything to be delivered- I'll chalk it up to being a new business and still figuring out the run of show. Would be back in a few months if service improves. Food is solid but be prepared to wait.

Came here with my mom for dinner. We were greeted warmly and the owner promptly set us up at a window side table after he pulled the blinds and prepped it for us. He is the only server so he was bustling around constantly. We ordered the fried goat cheese salad, cabbage rolls and the octopus. Thankfully we kept it light and had room for dessert of baklava and ice cream. It was all very good and flavorful but my favorite was the fried goat cheese, I also added chicken to the salad. I will be back for this!

Kalimera Bar & Grill is a hidden gem in Santa Rosa, CA which should not be missed if you love Turkish/Mediterranean food. My family and I were passing through town while visiting family and decided to go there for dinner. Walking into the restaurant was like traveling to the origins of their menu. Beautifully decorated in blue and white with stunning artwork, decor, and chandeliers. When ordering from their menu it was hard to decide between the babaganoush and the lamb skewers. Both my Dad and I ordered the lamb, and my mother the chicken skewers. Upon arrival our meals linked straight out of a Michelin Star restaurant. Full of flavor and perfectly cooked every bite we took was one to savor. After dinner my father and I had Turkish coffee for dessert. Having never had Turkish coffee before I didn't know what to expect in such a small cup. Upon my first sip I realized the best things in life come in small packages. Warm, smooth, and full of amazing flavors I almost asked for another to go. Upon finishing our meal we were thanked by owner and chef Elias who had come by to ask how the meal was. My reply was simple, "People must come here, and I will absolutely be bringing my family the next time we're in town. Simply amazing!". I rarely take time to provide reviews unless I find something worth singing from the rooftop, this is one of those places. Please go....take your family, friends, co-workers, heck....a stranger even. You will not be disappointed.

It wasn't just the food they say, but the remarkable wine list, which turned the place into a see-and-be-seen spot akin to NYC's Elaine's (RIP). If this isn't quite how you imagine anyplace along SF's Clement Street, think again. Years later it's still packed (on a Friday night) and loud. Service was the sole miscue on my visit with 3 others. We were given menus and water but ignored after that, to a point where we reached out to get some wine and attention. As you can see from the 5-star assessment, no harm-no foul; once wine and food flowed all was forgiven. The menu required some explanation. It's not broken down in any discernible way, requiring the server to explain that all dishes ae meant to be shared and that the first several dishes are dips, then small plates, then larger. In truth, all seemed like small plates to me (or small servings) but if your wallet permits, you'll not be disappointed. There wasn't one thing we shared that we didn't 100% consume nor anything I'd not recommend. Since we sampled almost the entire menu I feel comfortable saying that everything is delicious and attractively presented. We left the alcohol order to the one at our table who'd chosen Kitchen Istanbul and she summoned the sommelier and gave him free reign. He asked what we like (hearty reds) and what we wished to spend (about $75/bottle) and we enjoyed 2 completely unique offerings that we'd not have known to choose for ourselves. He was also tasked with pairing two of the dessert wines with two of the chosen desserts and they were as enjoyable as the wines served with dinner. It's fair to say that the sommelier had fun with our table, stopping by before we left to say how much he'd appreciated the opportunity to choose for us and for us placing our trust in him. Like the rest of the City I was following Sam Smith's food journey during his time here. He never made it to Kitchen Istanbul but if he had, I think he'd have nodded in agreement with the 5-star rating.

I understand restaurants can get busy, and being out of a few menu items happens, but the way things were handled was frustrating. We ordered our food, received appetizers, and then nearly 20 minutes later our server casually came over to tell us they were out of the chicken entrée we had ordered. There was no apology, no empathy, and honestly no sense that she understood how inconvenient that was. By that point it was already late, and at almost 10 PM in San Francisco there weren't many other dining options open nearby, which completely ruined our night. What made it worse was that we were still charged despite the poor experience and lack of proper service recovery. I ended up not tipping because the service felt disorganized and lacking basic professionalism and empathy. To be fair, the owner did come out afterward to apologize while I was waiting for my Uber, and I appreciated that gesture. But overall, this was a terrible experience that could have been handled much better operationally and from a customer service standpoint.

The seasonal menu's offerings were ideal for a rainy April day, when their cassoulet, bocadillo and other cozy options provided the comfort food we were craving. I loved the colorful tables and tasteful decor. It was clearly a regular lunch destination for many of the diners. The bar was packed during the rush, around noon, as well as the other indoor seats. My lunch friend mentioned that the restaurant is owned and operated by a husband and wife team: Annette and Brian. The regulars were greeted with familiarity. It wasn't the kind of place where you're rushed for your order, nor is it a dine and dash location. The menu - both food and drink - has tantalizing options, so it's best to come back repeatedly. My Turkish Coffee arrived quickly after I ordered it, despite Annette being the only server on the floor. I enjoyed the Bocadillo too, especially the pickled vegetables that accompany the sandwich. For those complaining that the portions were small or that the prices were high, the quality of ingredients and depth of flavor are worth the cost and my portion was more than enough to satisfy my appetite, plus I left with the other half of my sandwich as an offering for my hungry twenty-something at home. We ordered a rice pudding for dessert and dug in before I was able to snap a picture! It was delicious though, with the poached blueberries and almonds offering an ideal balance of texture and flavor to earn this simple dessert my esteem.
