I have yet to receive an email, a text, or a phone call! My daughter was injured in gym class and had fractured her finger and this guy feels it's his right to keep my deposit money from birthday party AS well as tuition that my daughter was not present for!! After several phone calls, the office manager finally found it appropriate to let me know the owner's intentions on keeping the deposit money as well as to continue to charge me tuition (even though we didn't have a clearance date from the doctor!) Weeks later, I now have a clearance date and my daughter can return to gymnastics, but now nobody wants to return my phone calls OR my tuition money for November and December! I took it upon myself to STOP anymore withdrawals from this facility. I am owed money and even with all of this, we were willing to come back because my daughter likes her teachers there! I called again and of course left a message as nobody really ever answers the phone. I have yet to hear back from them! I am assuming that they kicked us out, since they haven't replied back?!! Reason for my post is: think twice before walking into their doors, cuz if your child gets a great teacher, it really isn't worth the hassle of working with such a classless owner. They had a walking track above looking down on the rink. The prices were affordable ($5 for students) and the staff was very nice! There were tons of booths. We threw all of our belongings in one and it was the kids home base. Their rentals had skates or rollerblades. Even the arcade games were reasonably priced!

The girl at the desk never provided any information about anything. I did not know I needed quarters for the locker rental, nor did I not know I couldn't wear a baseball cap or have a crossbody bag. As soon as I got on the rink, the attendant told me I had to get off because of my hat. I wasn't upset or anything, I quietly skated off, returned my skates and gathered my belongings. As I was exiting I observed men on the skating rink with beanies on their heads and skull caps. Additionally I observed adults walking on the rink as they were helping their children. I did not know that the rink was also a track. I would think that's a bigger safety hazard than wearing a hat. When I went to the front to inquire about a refund there was a gentleman in front of me who had on a hat and I was tempted to say something to him but I also wanted to see if the clerk would remind him of the hat policy, but she didn't. I don't know if the assumption is that everyone who visits are regulars and know the protocol, but it wouldn't hurt to have signage at the front desk and to also remind the attendants to say something to the patrons.

Well later I learned this is the best of all five in New Brunswick campus. The following are the reasons why it's such a disappointment to me: 1. I'm a morning person and prefer to workout first thing of my day, yet gym only opens at 7am which is already not early. On top of it, it changes hour to 8am, or 9am, sometimes to 11am during breaks or summer. sometimes won't open at all. If you're serious about training like me, you must be familiar that consistency is key. Yet the schedules make me think the gym is against morning people. 2. The layout of fitness room is a train wreck to be honest. Machines are way too close to each other. One can be in other people's way even when working out. It's not just inconvenient, it's actually DANGEROUS. Plus, there's only ONE machine for each exercise. The whole fitness room probably has the size of two decent parking garage. Which is WAY too tiny given the number of people on campus. 3. The whole building is POORLY designed. The parking lot is on the opposite side of the building so you get extra walk because of poor design. Another thing is, the building size looks decent yet it has so tiny space for fitness room. 4. The power lifting room is okay. It only has 4 squat racks and 2 deadlifts platforms. Not even 1/3 of my previous gym. But surprisingly, not many people use them anyway so it's good. There's always a space when I go to in the morning. So two stars are for the power gym. 5. The swimming pool looks great but I don't swim that much so the star doesn't include swimming. To summarize, if you use the gym mainly for lifting, you can go and get work done but don't expect too much more. My star might be biased cuz I've seen one of the best. But it's good for those who never have seen better because they won't have as much disappointment as I have.

I'm at Rutgers year round as a graduate student working on Busch Campus. When I have time to work…read moreon my fitness, it's usually at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center. This building is kind of strangely built. They have the main door to the gym all the way around the opposite side of the building from the parking lot. This is really annoying when it's rainy or cold or snowy and you have to walk around the needlessly long poorly designed path. The parking lot itself is way too tiny, especially when they open the gym up to high school swim meets and other special events. The way it's designed is also poor, since the positioning of the isles creates a bunch of blind turns. I've seen a few accidents here over the past few years. Once you're inside, they also insist on swiping your RUID badge when you walk in, which can get irritating. They have an Olympic sized pool which looks pretty nice. The general gym weight equipment area is way too small for the number of students/staff that are on this campus. They have rooms for spinning and racquetball as well. There are a bunch of classes you can take at the gym. They are quite cheap for Rutgers staff/students but it's sort of insulting that they aren't put into the tuition in the first place. Most of the classes are enjoyable though. I especially like the spin classes and RUFIT (which is kind of a mixed stations work out class). I just wish they had more classes later in the evening. The gym closes at 9pm and there are larger stretches of the year where it isn't open at all for breaks an things. The scheduling is inconsistent and always changing which can get confusing sometimes.

P.S.A...They are good for adult birthday parties too!…read more I went with a group of friends and we had a lot of fun. Staff were very nice and very encouraging! They were also very good at guiding us through the more difficult climbs we attempted. It was nice that there weren't too many people so we weren't in the way of people and had a nice space for ourselves. Would love to go again! They have different specials throughout the week along with different membership options.

Right from the get go they were really easy to communicate with via email & phone to plan my event. When we entered we were welcomed warmly and everything was explained to us ahead of time. Both Rich and Ethan were very knowledgeable on the subjects of belay rock climbing and bouldering. Give those men a raise! When climbing they help coach you to give you the confidence to make it to the top of the wall. They were the best cheerleaders. They believed in us when we didn't believe in ourselves. A great surprise is that a regular member who was climbing that day brought in their dog Suki. She was so cute and friendly, but she knew not to get in the way of the climbers. My friends and I honestly had the best time and will be returning for the different specials they offer on some weeknights :)

Owner Shannon was so helpful and patient when we were choosing what class would best benefit Benjamin (new to gymnastics), as well as explaining class costs and scheduling. The Little Gym is always spotless; I frequently see staff cleaning in between class times. The gym has a restroom, a water station, some gym attire for sale, and seating for those watching their little gymnasts in class. The Little Gym has an enormous viewing window (an entire wall), and the gym maintains a comfortable air temperature. Ben has trained with four coaches since we began class. His larger class (up to 18 students at times) maintains a safe ratio of instructors to students every week. Coaches Megan, Eva, Jeremiah, and Lindsay are a dream team. Organized, professional, safety-conscious, and caring, they are teaching my son so much. Not only is he learning a foundation for gymnastics, he is demonstrating better discipline and confidence in and out of the gym. Best of all, he has so much FUN every class! Ben has already decided that he'd like to celebrate his birthday this year at The Little Gym. We've attended parties there before, and they're always a great time.
