This review is way overdue...but we very highly recommend Pearson as our go to bee removal expert. A swarm of bees decided to make our avocado tree their home. Although there was no hive, they were clinging to each other on a branch of the tree in the shape of a hive (and very upset) Pearson advised us that this was unusual behavior for bees and they were very likely displaced by construction or someone's roof that got too hot. This is a five-star outfit. Pearson answered the phone on the first ring yesterday and listened to the saga of bees in my chimney. I could have sworn there were hundreds or thousands from the buzzing and that he would find a hive and god knows how he would get it out of the chimney. Anyway, he promised to show up the next day, which he did.. said it would likely be around $350 but he couldn't be totally accurate without seeing the situation. (He also spent some time asking me questions about what bee activity I was seeing from outside near the chimney.) Fast forward 20 hours or so... no bees, no buzzing. After going up on the roof and poking around in the chimney, then coming inside and looking at the situation, Pearson said "Why don't we call it $150 for the drive out here." I wish I could give Pearson 10 stars. This whole experience was incredible! My house was chosen by some scouts to land their swarm. When I initially saw/heard the bees chilling outside of my home office searching in the open crevices, I immediately panicked! I searched for a reputable and humane bee removal service. I happened upon South Bay Bee and Im forever changed. Lol. He came out the same day, in the evening, and identified my bees as scouts. He explained what scouts were and how it all works. I was impressed. He asked me to watch them over the next couple of days as there was no hive yet. Sure enough, within 2-3 days, the number of scouts increased. He came back out and ooohhhh boy did we have an adventure. As he pulled up, the swarm was descending on the house. Watching the process and learning how the bee colony behaves was fascinating. He was able to capture the queen as she was flying in and immediately began rerouting them to a mini hive box he set up. He came back 2 days later to pick up the fully loaded box.
